Out-Of-Character Information

The simplest section of the application! Simply answer these questions so we
can get to know you a bit better.

What’s your Minecraft Account Name?: CaveExplorer2346

How old are you?: 15

What time-zone do you live in?: EST

Have you ever roleplayed before - if you have, how?: Mostly Minecraft RP servers. A forum thread
RP once or twice.

Have you been on any other roleplaying servers?: Era of the Vanguard, and two dead ones, City of Rounay and Fellsglow.

How did you hear about us?: You
guys are so popular, and your MCForums thread.

What do you think the server will be like? I imagine there’s a lot of people there. While I was sifting through the
forums on the website, I saw a lot of really kind, helpful, funny people. I’m
really excited to meet them all!

Have you read and agreed to the rules?: Yes!

What’s your favourite rule / the rule you agree with the most?: I do like the rule where you can bring your
character back, if they don’t commit suicide. I think it’s really smart, and
I’ve not seen it before. It keeps people from whining about their character
dying!

Definitions

This is simply so that we can get an understanding of how much you know
about roleplaying. Feel free to Google the answers, but make sure that you
write the reply in your own words, not Google’s.

What is roleplaying?: Roleplaying
is when you step into another person, experiencing their life, in a different
place and time. It’s when a large amount of people come together to entertain
each other by pretending to be someone else.

What’s metagaming?:  When you use information IC (in character)ly
that your character would never have known, which you got OOCly.

What’s powergaming?:  Usually in fights, when a person can dodge a
lot of attacks, or feels no fear or sadness, when they can do extremely
powerful things without a lot of equally extreme training. Ex. A guy dodges an
arrow to the face (which is somewhat of a PG in itself) , sidesteps a sword
slash, and then slams his 7-foot flaming broadsword into some dude’s skull.

In-Character Information:

Now you actually make your character - be creative but stay reasonable! Make
sure they make sense and that they follow lore. Try to come up with a character
that you actually want to play.

What’s your character called?: Mirwen
Laenil

What race are they (and sub-race)?: Elf, Dark Elf

What sex are they?: Female

How old are they?:  304

Give us a brief description of their life - their story, childhood, family:

Mirwen was born in a mountainous
forest region into a decent-sized trading lumber town. Her family were all dark
elves, and it was a large family indeed. Her brothers had already moved away to
start their own families, and she was the youngest. Her father wished to teach
her the arts of the blade, as his previous sons had never caught on, and he began
training her when she was 47, skeptical that she would do any better than his
sons had. But she quickly learned, and spent all her time practicing. She was
clumsy and weak, but she was passionate about it. She was filled with a desire
to learn more. Her father couldn’t teach her any more than he already had, and
so he sent her to the city to be taught. She absorbed her mentor’s lessons,
slowly and gradually growing stronger, more lithe. However it wasn’t until she
watched a performance in the city that she had the idea to make her talent an
entertainment rather than a weapon.

When Mirwen returned home, she
stayed in the forest for hours, trying to dance, but usually returning home
covered in dirt and scratches, grinning. Eventually, when she was 90, her
mother got fed up and tried to teach her sewing. Mirwen sat and listened
quietly, but her stitches to this day are still sloppy. She continued to
practice, having her father or her brothers watch as she gradually got better
at moving with grace.

Mirwen was 110 when she left home
like her brothers had. At first, she travelled with her friend, a poet and
bard. In the boring nights, he helped her with her handwriting, and small
little bits of the ‘art of speech.’ Eventually, they split paths, when he found
the woman of his dreams and settled with her. She usually did an odd job here
and there, but she prefers to perform in parades and displays at feasts.

Mirwen travelled for a long time.
She’s been a carnie, worked in a tavern, published a novel, and countless other
things. By no means is she very good at running taverns, swallowing fire or
writing bestsellers; she’s just constantly looking for ways to expand her
horizons, to learn more things. She’s never mastered any of her skills, but she
does want to increase her skills, from her nagging feeling that she leaves
things unfinished far too often. She especially wants to find someone who can
teach her further in her swordplay. However she couldn’t imagine herself settling
in an institute for magic or science or something of the like; she preferred to
learn things and move on, in her quest to experience all she can. She knows
that some people want to be masters at one thing, but she does think that it’s
silly to spend your life working at one skill.

What are they like (personality)?: Mirwen is an adventure-seeker. She desires to learn all she can, and see
all she can. She loves to learn new crafts and perfect them, as she is a
perfectionist to a fault. If something doesn’t please her, she invests almost
all her time to it in order to make it acceptable. She often practices her
swordplay, and sometimes her poetry and penmanship, her mapskills, occasionally
her sewing, and she desires to learn more skills throughout her long lifetime.
She’s scared that she will end up like most Elves, driven mad with depression
and commiting suicide. She tries to stay positive as much as she can to try and
evade this. She has a kind heart, and wishes well on most. She prefers action
and acting quickly to leaving things up in the air, like most Dark Elves.  She firmly believes that every mistake is a
lesson learnt, every bruise and scrape a reminder and a tidbit of knowledge.
Mirwen loves to feel her muscles ache, to sweat and pant, and get dirty from
dancing and playing. She has a lot of energy. She also has  a distaste for violence and bloodshed; but
she can enjoy a good duel now and then, and gets a rush from training against
an opponent with wooden swords and the like.

What are their ambitions?: Mirwen hopes to find some excitement in her
life, after living for three centuries in boredom. She knows her life is slipping
away ever so slowly, and wishes to actually live it while she has it.
Her true desire is to be able to die
content that she’s experienced all the world has to offer.

Do they have any special skills?: Mirwen is a graceful, elegant swordswoman. She’s never fought anybody
before in earnest, but she simply loves to take out her old,
beautifully-crafted Dark Elf blade, a fancy rapier/sabre that her family has
passed down for generations. She loves the blade, and polishes its’ engraved
hand cover, old words in the ancient Elfish language that she imagines don’t
really mean anything, but she thinks they look pretty. She keeps it dull most
of the time for the sake of safety. Mirwen with her drawn blade is a sight to
behold; she uses it in a sort of dance, a ballerina, twirling and lunging
gracefully, swiping her sabre through the air. She can put on a good show with it, but she couldn’t do much in a real
fight. The thought has crossed her mind, but she still refuses to take any
training that involves using her beloved blade for anything other than
something as beautiful as it.

What are their weaknesses?: Mirwen
is not experienced. She’s clever, but she’s not wise, and while she can
strategize she can be quite foolhardy. Her lust for adventure makes her
sometimes disregard caution or forget to be wary or distrusting. She wants to
make a lot of friends, and is kind to many, but lacks the skill to see people
behind their masks. She isn’t physically weak, but she isn’t very strong,
either. She has more endurance than bursty strength. Mirwen is very set in
stone about her morals and she often tries to guard her feelings and her heart,
but is still easily manipulated.

What do they look like?: Her
short, white hair is pulled over to her right side, a chunk of hair shaped in a
moon-crescent. She has bright, violet irises, and has earrings and makeup.
Mirwen is athletic, and somewhat muscly. She wears a brown shawl over a yellow
swath of fabric wrapped around her chest, and a blue-and-orange skirt over her
thighs. She has red satin-y sandals. Her sabre’s sheath is engraved and
embellished.         I drew this for a reference.

Anything else you want to say about them?: Her favorite color is emerald and
thinks armor is useless and heavy. (This seems like a good place to put random
facts that don’t matter.)

Please give us a screenshot of your character’s skin:
