[Lore Question/feedback] Death And Pregnancy

So recently I have heard of an rper who died while pregnant. Somehow the she can still have a child. I want to know if this is possible. If so, why was I told that if you die, any unborn you carry is aborted? Yes I am a little irritated as my character was hunted and forced to abort her kids on many occasions. Honestly its a bit unfair to other role players if some are given "special circumstances" when others are not.

sorry if this seems ragey. Just trying to understand.

I believe it's personal choice or I could be wrong. I would be inclined to believe that whoever told you that you had to abort was lying or misinformed.

EDIT: I assume we are talking about a simple RP death and not a permakill?

talking about monks and fetal death.

I see. Then I believe it is personal choice. If you believe the wounds sustained were too much for the baby to handle then abort. Then again, if the monks could heal the mother back to life, why not the mother?

If the mama can come back after she's died, the baby can come back after it has died. It's a little character itself, too.

If its possible I would like a Lore master or a GM who is knowledgeable on Monks and their lore.

I was told that only "SENTIENT" beings can be monked, thus Animal characters and fetus's can not.

Dying during labor is very common in the medieval times, without pain-killers to ease the process. Dying while pregnant has a low chance of the baby surviving, if surgeons could cut her stomach open and retrieve the still-born baby.

It is never the choice of others as to how your character RPs. If you die entirely and come back your child would also come back as well, no one can force you to permakill /ever/ unless it is a direct admin decision or your OOC agreement when signing and OOC waver about pking.

This is a bit silly IMO. The server has always held the principal of players choosing when their character died. I see no reason why that should not extend to an unborn child. If a character can come back after having their head lopped off, their body dipped in lava, and their brain fed to wolves, then a womb parasite should come back too. I think we're just straying too far into "super serious" territory.

Can't really say I know monk lore too well, you'd have to ask Freya or Cappy about it to be certain. Freya'll probably pop up in this thread sometime in the next few hours.

Bam. Monks 'regenerate' people from their souls. If your character is pregnant, they'll also search for the child and bring them back too.

But yeah. It's your choice if the baby survives or not. Although I find it a little macabre that pregnant women die in enough quantities to warrant this post. Oh well.

thankies freya, post can be locked now.

I no longer will have to have a panic attack if people try and hunt me down just to kill my baby
