 LARGE... tracts of land.

If this was a Holy Grail reference, I love you so much more. You're now at least... 20% cooler.

May I request that a process is declared for testing 'activity' so that it is clear from the get-go how to go about not having your shitty little cobblestone house ripped down.

Twice a month signs will be placed on buildings that seem derelict?

A group of people may be selected as "restorers" who voluntarily perform such checks?

LB can show us what blocks have been broke in a certain area over what time.

And of course, we'll employ more traditional methods (signs/forum pms).

Of that I am appreciative, but wouldn't it be more easily handled by the Aegis Improvement Committee? A group of volunteers who flag properties for GMs to investigate and then tear down if inactivity is discovered?

Please do not let people build their own villages. There are major projects in work, involving the demolishment of various settlements. If people are allowed to found their own, small hamlets all over the place, the work will be in vain. Allow people to build their own small abodes, and nothing more.

I don't think something like that is really necesesary  but we'll see.

Restrictive strangleholds is what made this period of LoTC less-than-enjoyable. If active players want to form a village, then they can do so. Assuming they stay active enough, then their village can exist/grow/prosper. Fall into inactivity? Poof, village gone.

The goal of this is to get more people on the roads/roleplaying in general. If a nation pops up, well... just give the Orcs a ring. They like smashing nations.

But seriously, the Orcs have our own plans for removing inactive and useless nations/towns/settlements. Once the completion of Gronkkston has been completed, lock your doors.

With RP, any nation can tear down a settlement on their land. Call out to the Nation Leader if this happens. Or the Orcs. Again we smash.

In that case, they should at least be required to have consent from the nation they build in.

It wouldn't be a single bit different from how obtaining land was before the unregioning, then.

If they don't the nations will probably tear them down.

In principle.. Without regioning, people can set up a bandit camp without everyone knowing about it.

People can live in a secluded lil' corner of the world, if they so please.

New villages can pop up, with their own local leader, whom can swear fealthy to a greater leader if they happen to pass by and subjugate the village.

However.. Builds need to be of better quality. Need to show fantasy. Need to be more than MC-practical.

Please, do your best and keep improving. ^-^

There's a difference between building a personal abode, than founding yet another useless, crapton village. This is essentially what we've been attempting to prevent, and demolishing useless settlements to centralize RP. By giving all players the unquestionable right to build themselves a town, and crown themselves king of the bunga, will only end up in a spread of roleplay, and leave the nations with more work (cleaning up these unofficial towns. Players should still be allowed to build shops, homes and tents, but not whole villages.

I like the change, however I feel this change could be massively improved if coupled with the removal of OOC permission to blast down another's 'house', because then if idiotic cobblestone forts are brought up, then they can be brought down again no questions asked. That said though, lets see how it goes.

Remember, things are subject to change even further. For now, we'll leave it up to GM/Admin discretion whether or not a fort should stay. Preferably none get made, or if they do, they're built into mountainside or hidden underground.

Eh.. Forts build into mountainsides or underground? Maybe dwarves, and if build right...

But, a human has no bussiness building a fort underground.
