The Edict of

the Lord Marshal of Renatus

 

Clarifying the purpose of the Lord Marshal, and Declaring the Holder of the Title.

Issued and confirmed by His Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion.

 

At the will of His Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion, the Lord Maric Varodyr, Baron of Cyrion and Defender of Faith, is hereby declared the sole and legitimate Lord Marshal of the Kingdom of Renatus, a title held by him in trust to the Crown of Renatus.

 

At the will of His Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion, the powers and duties of the Lord Marshal of the Kingdom of Renatus are enumerated herein.

 

At the will of His Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion, the Title of Lord Marshal of Renatus is entrusted with the direction and management of the armies of Renatus in times of war, the enforcement of the Empire’s laws across the Kingdom of Renatus, to ensure the punishment of law breakers throughout the Kingdom of Renatus, with the responsibility to control the Kingdom of Renatus' Law and Order.

 

 

Section I

Military Duties

 

i. The Duty to ensure the continued safety of the Kingdom of Renatus, in a manner consistent with the Kings Peace.

ii. The Power to direct the armies of the Kingdom, and to direct their affairs, in accordance with his duties as Lord Marshal of Renatus.

iii. The Duty to uphold the image of justice at all times.

iv. The Duty to assist the Lord Steward in collecting tax.

v. The Duty to command the Abresi City Watch into catching offenders of law.

vi. The Duty to present a constant list of current prisoners.

 

Section II

Military Powers

 

i. The Power to declare the strategies of the forces of Renatus, and their targets, in accordance with his duties as Lord Marshal of Renatus, in the King’s absence or upon his command.

ii. The Power to arrest all nobility under the rank of duke without warrant, and can place in confinement until judgement.

iii. The Power to arrest all nobility above the rank of duke with warrant stating reason.

iv. The Power to appoint Sheriffs in the Capital and settlements.

v. The Power to place bounties on all criminals in the Kingdom of Renatus.

vi. The Power to seize weapons and armor in the Kingdom of Renatus with warrant.

vii. The Power to conduct a public execution of a commoner.

viii. The Power to conduct a public execution of nobility, with the king’s warrant.

 

Section III

Appointment to Office

 

i. The office of Lord Marshal of Renatus is appointed by his Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion, in accordance to the militant needs of the Kingdom.

ii. The office of Lord Marshal of Renatus is held until death or reappointment by his Imperial Majesty the King of Renatus, Ostromir Sarkozic Carrion, in accordance to the militant needs of the Kingdom.

iii. The office of Lord Marshal of Renatus can only be appointed to those of nobility, gentry and/or budding officers.
