Hello

I really want to have a go at this RP but I'm taking my time getting to know the lore and getting my character application just right (been at it for 2 days now, not even near finished). So I figured in the mean time why not post an introduction?

I'm 24, live in the UK and enjoy Minecraft (duh). I'm not actually all that familiar with roleplaying. I've joined in a few forum roleplays but none of them lasted. So this is new for me. Playing as a human character I want to get myself as familiar as possible with human lore in particular (though I am still familiarizing myself with all lore in general). I'm actually finding it hard to figure out where is where and what is what, even flying around as a wandering spirit it's hard to tell where one kingdom ends and another begins. Still I think I'll figure it out eventually.

I do like The Lord of The Rings, which I assume this roleplay's fantasy aspects are loosely based around, but I haven't read the books and don't actually have the films. It's not something I know that much about, but when I saw the movies I did think they were pretty good movies. I'm quite picky about what I like.

I'm hoping to get started and join in roleplaying soon, so going to work a bit more on my character now, do a bit of 'homework' and read up in the wiki and the human roleplay section. See you around hopefully.

At this point in time the forums are inaccurate and they are two human kingdoms.

The Kingdom of Oren (the vast majority of human territories, ranging from the Ruskan taiga's of the west and the heartland of the capital, Abresi, in the east, with the forests of Salvus in the south)

+

The Kingdom of Herendul (the frozen north, home of House Winter and the Winterguard; their land is all of the snowy bits you see in the North as a wandering soul)

Both are legally bonded through the Edict of Oren to protect one another and aid in each other's efforts, though the kingdoms do have their distance currently. Human politic can be a bit of a messy affair, so trouble with understanding it will come. Most new players head to Abresi for their roleplay to figure things out, but the world is your oyster in LotC and you can easily figure what suits your character best.

As technical Emperor/head of the coalition of mankind I can help you with any questions behind designing your character. They are a myraid of sub-cultures within the human race.

Orenians (traditional vanilla western medieval europeans in style, many former nobles and former kings were Orenians)

Raevirs (current rulers of Oren, based off slavs and eastern europeans with a particular dialect and culture)

Hansetians (based off germanic and scandanivans, largely without a figurehead in the human realm with the dissolving of the Kingdom of Hanseti)

Auvergnians (based heavily on the french)

Let me know if you have any questions, and glad to see more roleplayers on LotC!

Welcome to LotC! I'm glad you're taking your time on your application! Sometimes it seems people put as little effort as they can into their apps...and sometimes don't even use the right format. :P

Good luck! :)

Welcome, also the name is misleading. The server is based more off of historical figures and religious stories than Lord of the Rings. With that being said, for a RP server naming it Lord of the Craft 3 years ago was a mighty boost toward recruiting new players. Since the storyline of the server is mostly player driven. It's story shall become whatever the player base things up.

If you  have any questions feel free to ask them, I am fairly knowledgeable on ancient history as well as rules and will be more than happy to help in your search find answers.
