Samson Option 9652 Share Posted October 22, 2013 To answer your questions in order, yes he does, as noted in his appeal. Yes, people get second chances if the rule the break isn't severe enough and if they prove themselves worthy to rejoin the community. Lastly, I have no idea what this has to do with anything, truly. I am going to urge you Rittsy to let AiiM completely off the hook right after the staff have made their post defining cyber-bullying solidly. It is a low blow to AiiM whilst Vardak attempting to solicit nudes was gifted a second chance in one of the [arguably] most immoral attempts via the internet.

domainoft 191 Share Posted October 22, 2013 I am pleased with the staffs decision and quick action. Is that not what many people were crying for only weeks ago? Quicker action...more results? Nothing personal against AIIM but if your not actively trying to improve the community, game, and forum environment you are in fact leaching from us. Players that seek only enjoyment for themselves are what cause 90% of our problems, The true difference between Aegis culture and todays is this difference, We have catered systems to allow them to do nasty things to other players....not in the name of creating something, or adding enjoyment to all....but as a method of ICly increasing there own status and power. If you are a thief in any capacity stealing from people who are offline or inactive, and you don't take it seriously enough to do more than place a simple sign. You are stealing only for your enjoyment, I can assure you no one logs in to see valuables missing and thinks..."That was fun". There are better ways, The same goes for mass murders in Oren and every other kind of evil we detest. It would be an interesting experiment to Revoke everyone's VA for a week and see how enjoyable the RP is, and how well we can all get along. It would also be a good test to see how many players "Can't play" without their VA's proving they do not deserve them in the first place.
THUNDER37 162 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Well this was fun to come back from college to last night. Though I will say, that the staff have said before that they look at each individual ban and appeal separately and not via a consistent table of punishment. AiiM was caught doing something he shouldn't, and causing grievance to another player. Is it really that bad to let him be banned for 2 months? Come on... If he's that bothered about staying he shouldn't have done what he did, and will make an appeal upon his bans ending.
Lvke 1000 Share Posted October 22, 2013 So.... Lemme try and wrap my head around the utter inconsistency and utter bullshit of this situation... You let a player who asked for very explicit photos of an under-aged female, one who in fact was staff and then proceeded to bullshit his way though appeals without so much a heartfelt sorry for his frankly paedophilic actions, yet he is allowed to get away with a severe ban avoidance. Yet the man who found out and insulted someone with such a history... was banned? This is utterly disgusting. Really makes you step back and want to find out what goes through the staff's brain at moments like these.
Lark 2227 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Aiim didn't cyberbully Vardek though..that and Vardek circumvented his ban before he was unbanned. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the staff is ignoring that..
Austin 697 Share Posted October 22, 2013 So let me get this straight, an adult is allowed to cyber with a minor over Skype, but if a player calls a perms banned player a gender bender they get a 4 month ban? Logic. Is this "Lord of the Craft" or "Lord of the Double-Standard"? Because I feel like it is unreasonable that Vardak was banned at the time AiiM made comments to him, does this mean that if I see Pugsy on another server or Divinus that if I insult them I am subject to a 4 month ban? Sky 0 Share Posted October 22, 2013 A lot of people are putting their opinion here, so I thought that I might as well too. I love to see a second chance being given to a player, though one could argue a fair few more players should get the chance but that's besides the point, the admin's take on cyber-bullying shouldn't be a shock or seem strange since that's what 99% of all communities have. (Which is a zero tolerance to it) Though I can see that, that's not the issue being focused on. The issue being focused on seems to be AiiM's ban and the inner workings of the admin's mind when it came to it. From their point of view, AiiM did something that no person should really be doing and harassed another member of the community (Granted they (are/were?) permanently banned) which is something no one should do, and it being his 'tipping' point. (They didn't say that, using it as I see it fits well there). I can completely understand the logic, but it honestly does not add up and I say so with the utmost respect. Though, like many of us, we don't know the entire story and sure you could say that what we know isn't the whole truth but isn't that another can of worms? I mean, almost every ban given, is shown with definite proof of the accused doing said acts, the only thing we have seen was a short screenshot provided by AiiM himself. And lets not forget the fact that, AiiM gets annoyed at his IC wife (Note: This was the tipping point, and is the thing that got him banned. May not be the entire reason, but is the tipping point of his ban) getting a four month, maybe two month ban and the person who was banned for trying to get illicit pictures of an underage staff member (Note: I was told he was drunk, still no excuse. I see pedophilia and the attempt of receiving child pornography as far worse than cyber-bullying) has been offered a second chance, don't forget that he has evaded the ban and gone behind the staff members back for a while now but is forgiven.

nordicg_d 1847 Share Posted October 22, 2013 Perma banned for pugsy, a 3 minute halt to RP. Their intentions, for whatever reason doesn't even come close to how disrespectful not to mention how disgusting it is, to be sending nude pictures to an underage female. I still think bans reasons and lengths need to be reworked.
