With colossal sobs, Dame Franziska Kortrevich would turn to hold tight one of her drazimann brothers-in-arms and visitors to her office. “It wasn’t fair that- that I never got to say goodbye,” she blurted out, feeling much like the little girl that she was when she had heard of her mother’s death before the Siege of Petrus.
