I have seen fit and desire to publish the first minor bull of Aquila. Not only the first of this Diocese but also the first of my own writing. I am early in my days of service to the church and though I do not doubt my abilities to guide my flock I recognize that I may falter at times in my service as we all falter in life, for this I beg your forgiveness. He who stands with me shall be my brother, Amen.” ON MATTERS OF LITURGY It has for some time been a matter of great consideration on the nature of the Númenedain and the culture of faith surrounding it and Canonized Adunians at large. Thus I have seen fit to formally declare my intent to begin the development of Liturgy that caters to such a populus. I am myself an Adunian, and I find myself amongst many of my kin, understanding deeply the spiritual needs and cultural nuances that shape our worship. Our traditions, rich and ancient, deserve a Liturgy that resonates with our history, our values, and our aspirations. It is my belief, as should be shared amongst all brothers of GOD, that new Liturgy should in nature serve to add and enhance the faith and not serve in any capacity to draw lines or divide and in such a pursuit I intend to not only seek out those of intimate knowledge of the Faith but also those with similar strength in regards to the culture and way of my people. It is my hope to form a small committee dedicated to such a task, should you be an expert in either capacity please do not hesitate to reach out. CALL TO THE PIOUS The Diocese of Aquila does hereby declare the need for the training and deployment of additional members of the clergy within the Diocese, Through rigorous training and contemplative meditation, new acolytes will forge a deep connection with the divine, eventually becoming beacons of light for our community. Understand that the path of the clergy stands distinct from any worldly profession, it is a divine vocation. Upon ordination you will join an eternal brotherhood of priests and in doing so, commit upon a life of uncompromising virtue, unwavering faith and boundless love. Those interested in such an endeavor need only arrive at the Bastion Temple of St King Caius and seek the attention of myself or his eminence, prelate of the clergy Cardinal Antonius. In return for your dedication, the Diocese promises not only to cater to your basic needs but also to nurture your spiritual growth. MATTERS OF SAFETY In recent times the Númenedain have risen and faced an onslaught of challenges, little rest in their combat of darkspawn and the influence of the foe. I have in turn received a number of letters reaching out and asking whether support would be needed in order to safeguard the faithfull. To those who have made such an offer I return as such. Thank you, but the Númenedain will not buckle to such petty obstacles. The people of my parish are strong people, our faith is a strong and unwavering faith. Yet, should the need arise there will be no hesitation to call on brothers of the faith. To those strong and devoted of Numendil I beseech you: risk nothing alone you may risk alongside your brethren. Too few and too precious are your lives and though the call to be bold rings proudly in not only your ear but mine we must always temper righteous action with wise contemplation. Please report any matters of concern or threats to the faithfull to the office of the Tar, the Church or any member of the Knights of Numendil. In unity and vigilance, we shall prevail. ON HEATHEN ICONOGRAPHY It has come to my attention, a matter of great concern, the finding of Iconography in strange and vaguely canonist fashion, it was not the other day I was accosted by a creature of the night who sought to intimidate and disorient me on a walk of the lands contained within the diocese. It was after declaring myself a servant of GOD unshaken by the fiend that I was given a carving of a woman's hands, a delicate and well worn inscription of ‘Faith’ which had seemed to be worn away by a constant touch. It was upon my reflections that its true nature became apparent. Foolish and brash as I am, I retrieved the object, inspecting it closely only to realize: even the most innocent of objects can carry a taint which will not wash away. The foe will use a myriad of techniques to lure in those unsuspecting and unprepared for the honeyed words and gifts of the deceiver. SUSPICION IS YOUR SHIELD REPORT THE SUSPICIOUS FIND FAITH SOLELY IN THE WORD OF GOD Let this be an unequivocal decree: the possession of pagan symbols, the veneration of false icons, or the construction of heathen altars are grave transgressions against our faith. Such acts will be met with the severity they are deserving. It is the duty of every faithful to remain watchful, to report any deviations, and to ensure that our devotion to GOD remains untainted and pure. RECOGNITION OF THE FAITHFUL Nearly two decades have passed since my initial arrival in the lands of Numendil, without much faith provided to me in my youth I came to these lands with a single task in mind: live and die in service of Tar-Numentar. It is by nature of my life that now I follow a similar path though that service is to GOD. Five years, perhaps, I committed to service of Tar-Numentar, these were years of pride and distinction as I was serving not only my liege but the protector of my people, of my kin. It was this pride I felt which left me in such utter shock when the man of his own volition sought to abdicate that very seat I was in service to. By no small measure does any man or woman step down from the very thing which has defined them. Pride is a chief weapon of the foe blinding those afflicted with it to the passing of time and the changing of fates. It is why many die with the power they sought after, clutching to it with white knuckles as they fall slowly into age. Not we, not those who seek to upset what is in favor of what should be. It is now that I recognize the profound wisdom in his actions. On behalf of the Diocese of Aquila and its parish I thank you Ser Numentar, for your toil against the foe, for your unwavering faith and for shepherding the faithfull, let us pray… “Saint Edmond, model of all knights, possess me not with fear; grant me peace and strength in the hour of battle. Through painstaking research, I have compiled a list of names of those who show alive on our family tree. It is my hope that all said names belong to those who still walk this astral plane but I can not neglect the harsh truth that many of these missives will simply lead to a grave whether grandiose or unknown. For those who happened upon this page that don’t bear the once noble blood of Rourke and Elendil, discard this letter and leave it to rest. Several generations have come to pass over the House of Rourke. Our history, as rich as any other, weaves itself through the tapestry of men. Our shared ancestors stood as titans of states. From Ministers of the Empire to Wardens of the West, it has been our duty to uphold the bonds and traditions of Adunian-kind. Those who persist among this great line of men and women all maintain a responsibility to restore our name back to the shelf that it once sat on and perhaps one day, install it upon an even higher one. We owe this, at the very least, to our ancestors who propelled us to this continent and gave us this chance at life. When our ancestor, Oisin ‘John’ O’Rourke acquired the County of Halstaig from Emperor Peter III, a pecan tree was added to our coat of arms. While we may overlook this addition, this tree meant a great deal to those before us. A pecan tree, once rooted, is impossible to kill off. Cut it to a stump and its roots will surface. Although, this immense power has often been exercised judiciously. Traditional O’Rourke leaders, valuing collective wisdom, have often sought the counsel of family. This Council, integral to the O’Rourke Court, typically comprises five distinguished members. Consigliere of the O’Rourkes A title gifted from the Illatian Falcone branch of the O’Rourkes the Consigliere of the O’Rourkes is simply a right hand to the Head of the family serving in an advisory position and acting as a leader instead of the family head, should there be a need for it. This individual also takes on the unique tasks of seeing to the safety and well-being of the Heir Apparent of the family and taking on the role of Reagent in the case of a crisis leaving a young heir to receive the titles or an event leaving the Head incapable or incapacitated. This special task is due to the underlying distrustful nature of O’Rourkes. In addition to all standard duties the undertaking of all tasks necessary for the survival of the O’Rourkes which the Head is unable or unwilling to do falls upon the shoulders of the Consigliere. Lady or Lord Consort O’Rourke While a position of circumstance it is one of great importance as well, While the hand may take on tasks too menial or unbefitting the Lord or Lady of the House the Consort takes a similar role in all matters of court, assisting in maintaining a household as well as ensuring appearances are kept in regards to foreign and local courts. Also acting as the Lord or Ladys firstmost protection regardless of gender it is expected of them to be as proficient in combat if not more so while also adept at the detection of plots and the sourcing of information Master of Arms The linchpin for equipping the O’Rourkes and instructing them in the art of warfare, this individual is also entrusted with rallying the family's bannermen. Collaborating with the Liege lords' commanders and ensuring law enforcement within the family precincts further fall within their purview. Master of Commerce This family member shoulders the responsibility of overseeing O’Rourke business interests. They ensure the judicious allocation, collection, and distribution of the family's wealth, including timely tax payments and maintaining stockpiles. Maintaining the financial ledgers also falls under their domain. Master of Books Devoted to curating the family's library and literary treasures, this member ensures the holistic education of the O’Rourke youth. They are also tasked with staying informed about potential adversaries, relaying foreign court news, and staying up caught up on contemporary affairs. As a hard and fast rule O’Rourke Families are all seen as equal and thus all members share the ability to voice their concerns and support, officially speaking the Five mentioned members of the Court are the only which inherently hold any authority over any other members and no O’Rourke besides that of the head holds the ability to unilaterally make choices which affect the family. Inheritance House O’Rourke has always taken a unique approach to inheritance. Unlike most families of their time who followed the tradition of passing on titles and assets to the eldest male, the O’Rourkes chose a system where the eldest child, be it son or daughter, would inherit. This approach allowed formidable women like Azariah Cassia, Iduna Anne, and Thedorea Illeana to rise to prominence during the Imperial Era. However, after the fall of the 8th Empire and the 4th Kingdom of Oren, the rules changed. Now, the current leader of the house, whether a Patriarch or Matriarch, can choose their successor from their children. While usually the eldest child is still the first choice, there have been times, such as with Sadie Cristonia, where a younger child's deeds have earned them the honor. As direct descendants of the esteemed Elendil line, the O'Rourkes are among some of the purest of Adunians. Their fair peachy skin and distinctive emerald eyes are characteristic of this heritage. However, their hair color has diverged from traditional Adunian shades due to disruption from marriages to foreigners. One of the most prevalent hair colors among the O'Rourkes is blonde, a trait that first appeared with Padraig Pious and was subsequently passed down to Calahan Antonious and Theodosia Illeana. Liar’s Bane stands at a healthy 108 centimeters in length from pommel to point. Its blade is created out of a material, foreign to any descendant realm. Due to its strange nature, it possessed the ability to be enchanted. Unlike the ancestral weapons of other houses, Liar’s Bane commonly finds itself used in combat. During the historical Siege of Helena, Pious Padrick wielded it against the Renatians. His ancestors Azariah Cassia and Calahan Antonious followed suit, using it in their own infamous battles; the Battle of Outer Arentania and the Battle of Lower Petra, respectively. Crow’s Heart; Despite not having a life span as long as Liar’s Bane, Crow’s Heart was a notable O’Rourke relic in the form of a black diamond monkey paw that fell into the possession of Padraig Pious during the Sutican War. It was said that during a raid upon the Duchy of Lorraine by Padriag’s “fixers”, they ripped the jewel out of the hands of the Duchess and took it as a trophy. Padraig was able to control the effects of the Heart and commonly used it during social gatherings to intimidate his political rivals. After Padraig’s untimely death, Crow’s Heart was willed off to Dimitri Orlov, a cousin of the O’Rourke Family. However, during the transition from Arcas to Almaris, Dimitri lost the relic during the descendant's brief stay in the Daeperician Archipelago.

The Confessors of Numendil Preface: In times of great strife and fear, yet more brave warriors emerge from Numendil. as far removed from the Radiant Templars of Numendil or the resourceful Rangers of Caladas as possible, the Confessors were founded with a different goal in mind, a force made in dedication to the practice of rooting out evil and safeguarding the faith. While all men and women of Numendil share in the righteous and zealous fury, those who choose the path of Confessor dedicate themselves entirely to the practice and carry out their duties at any cost. Be it life or limb, a Confessor will serve in the name of GOD no matter the price that must be paid. Treading a path interwoven with both subtle discretion and fierce zeal, the Confessors are ever on the lookout to add to their ranks. Admission requires: A Yearning for a diligent life of service in the name of GOD That One's soul has seen 20 years An education in the word of GOD or the desire to learn A history of devout living such as receiving baptism All those who meet these requirements shall be admitted to the ranks, those who demonstrate their dedication shall serve so long as their heart remains steadfast. Those who fail to perform will be discharged from service with their honor intact. As the role of a Confessor is not the path for everyone, those who begin on this road may at any time return to serve GOD in other more suitable capacities. Initiation and Training: All those who meet the above requirements may approach any Officer of the Army of Numendil for Enlistment. Upon joining the ranks one will either be admitted directly as a Confessor should they meet or exceed the requirements to be one. All others shall be made an “Aspirant” until they have been admitted in full. These members will be expected to work tirelessly to meet expectations. A Confessor Upon full admittance shall at minimum: Know of GODs word and be studied in the Dogma and Principles of the Church: A Confessor must know intimately the details of GOD This is not a merely recital of scripture; a Confessor must internalize the dogma and principles of the Church, understanding them deeply and profoundly. Know of GODs foes and their methods in detail: A Confessor is taught to recognize the many faces of GODs foes, delving into their methods, tactics, and motivations. Ensuring they may not be caught unprepared to serve in HIS name Have served Numendil for 4 Saints weeks and as an Aspirant for at least 2: Time is the tool used hone and create mastery in all things Confessors aspire too, not only must one know Service to GOD but they must also know Service to their Worldly liege Have taken action against an enemy of GOD: Knowledge and time alone don't make a Confessor. One must take action in their pursuits to defend the faith and thus before any can fill the role of a Confessor they must take decisive action against an Enemy of GOD Uniform and Arms: The Uniform of a Confessor differs from that of the Guards and Knights of Numendil, devoid of the standard gleaming radiant star, their cloaks bear a singular circle upon the color of their home nation – an austere yet potent emblem of the endless scope of GODs intent and will. Beyond that, a Confessor’s tool kit is often more varied in nature than the standard guardsman. Due to the nature of GODs foes a, Confessor is Faced with adversaries as diverse as malevolent Magi, to the sinister Darkspawn. A Confessor must ready themself to confront and vanquish them all in the name of GOD. Tenets of Service: Absolute Faith: A Confessor's heart is to serve as an unwavering beacon of faith, ever alight with the Divine White Flame, a Confessor’s will is hardened and rarely broken. Boundless Sacrifice: No price is too great, no journey too arduous. For the sanctity of Numendil and the Church, a Confessor will brave any storm and bear any burden. Undying Vigilance: Ever watchful, a Confessor's eyes pierce through darkness, always seeking threats to the realm and the faith uprooting it at every opportunity. Service to The Tar: The teachings of GOD and his word remain forever paramount. However, the Confessor, in their worldly duties, serve at the discretion of the Tar of Numendil, protecting their people's faith and secrets.
