Spring Festival Day one So today marked the day of the opening of the festival! For those who came it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed hosting games for y'all. Siofra sat at the edge of the dock, seilently reading through a missive she held neatly within her hands, the water beneath her feet catching the light in soft shifting riples but she had no energy to admire them. her posture was straight only by habit now, weariness had settled into her shoulders, into the slow way her eyes traced the same lines twice as if deisbelief alone might change the words. as the sound of footsetps approached she looked up and the coldness in her epxpression eased into something gentler though no less tired. "hmm..." she murmured and lowered the page enough to look over the edge up to her father "oh Maln... i did nae hear you approach" Her gaze drifted back over the paper, her eyes lingering on the final lines, a faint humourless smile touched her mouth. “...They think me some doe wandering blind through the wood.” she let out a qiet breath through her nose, almost a laugh though it was more weary then amused, she looked out across the water once more before she spoke again. “How charitable of them to warn me that wolves have teeth.” the missive bent in her hands much like how her patience did, still her voice remained calm. "weather this is a warning, a provocation, or merely someone's idea of theatre... im conflicted.." she murmured as she folded the page with care "though i will admit... i should live very much for one matter... just one... to arrive without dragging five more behind it..."

A certain elfess recieved the leeter, her missmatched eyes skimming the first few lines, she stops blinked then reads again. Her lips part slightly as she reads, slower this time, like the meaning might change if she gives it more care. "...no..." she stops and her hands began to tremble cluching the paper tighter "no... no, that's not..." Her breathing stutters, catching painfully in her throat as her eyes dart across the letter, faster now, deperatly searching for anything that contradicts it, anythign that says this is wrong, a mistake, a lie.. but the words dont change. they dont move to rearange as if this was some parlor trick "no... i just spoke to you... you were right there... no..." Her voice fractures, thin and disbelieving, before it collapses entirely. Tears blur her vision so badly she can barely see the page anymore, but she clutches it tighter, like letting go would make it even more real. A sharp, broken sob rips out of her. "No, no, no, no, this isn’t funny... this isn’t!" she chokes, shaking her head violently, curls sticking to her damp cheeks. "You can’t.. you can’t.. I was just there, you were smiling, you... i said.. i said i would see you later!.." Her knees buckle beneath her, hitting the ground hard, but she doesn’t seem to feel it. "I didn’t even... I didn’t say goodbye..." The words dissolve into a wail, loud and anguished, spilling out of her without restraint. "I thought I had time!" Her whole body convulses with sobs, breath coming in sharp, uneven gasps that hurt more with each inhale. Tears stream endlessly, dripping onto the letter, smudging the ink, but she doesn’t notice doesn’t care. "i thought..." she cries, voice cracking into something small and broken. "i thought you weren’t going anywhere… i..i thought i would get more time... i.." She can’t finish. The words die in her throat, a strangled, high-pitched cry escapes her, raw with grief. "come back.. please.. please just come back... BRING HER BACK!" Her fingers claw at the ground, as if she can drag herself backward through time, back to that moment, back to her grandmother’s voice, her warmth, anything but this hollow, unbearable silence. But there’s nothing... only the letter, crumpled in her shaking hands. And Siofra, collapsed around it, sobbing hysterically into the space where her grandmother had just been, her cries echoing with no one left to answer.

After finding out Revekka had passed. a certain high elf froze in place. She had known loss before. It had never once been easier. "No..." A whisper, barely there. the realiszation came slowly, cruelly, like her mind refused to let it settle all at once. She stood there, unmoving, as it sank in piece by piece. The first tear fell. Then another. Her breathing hitched. The world around her dulled, sound fading into nothing as her ehart began to pound, louder and louder in her ears. "No!!" The scream tore out of her before she could stop it. She ran. She didnt remember the path, didnt feel her legs carry her, only that she was suddnely there, at the orphanage. her hands slammed against the door in desperate plea. "Revekka!!" Silence. She hit the door again. Harder. Nothing Panic twisted sharp in her chest as she forced her way inside, searching, calling, desperate for anything, any sign, any answer. But there was nothing. No voice, No movement. No her. "Why?..." her voice broke, cracking apart "No.. i... come back... please?..." The words fell uselessly into the empty space. And still, Nothing answered. She didnt remember leaveing. didnt remember walking home. Only that somepoint, something small wrapped itself around her leg. Siofra stilled, and slowly she looked down. Her son. And just like that, everything gave way. She dropped, pulling him into her arms, holding him tightly as if he might disappear too. The child didnt understand, only clinging back, grounding her into something real. Her breaths came uneven, shaking. "Thank you," she murmured weakly, voice breaking again "For being my friend.." Her eyes closed, tears slipped freely now. memories came in fragments. Shared laughter, quiet talks, the orphanage. the way they had both cared so deeply, so passionatly. "it.. has been my honour..." Her head dipped against her sons shoulder as her body shook qither quiet, restrained sobs. "I just... I wish i had said it sooner..."

LOTC Event - Player feedback Hello everyone This isn't your usual kind of post, but please give me a moment of your time. I'm currently working on my final major project for college, and I've chosen to base it around LOTC. As part of this project, I'll work with the Community staff team where possible to plan and organise an event for you. The goal is to create something that brings our community together and is enjoyable for as many players as possible. One of the ideas I'm exploring is a fairground style event, featuring mini games, small shops and other interactive activities. Something that will encourage players to socialise, and just have fun I'll also be creating a video to showcase this event, highlighting the gameplay, community interaction, and overall experience. To make sure the event is something you all actually want to take part in, I've created a short survey to gather your feedback. Article IV - Of Scholarship, Craft, and the Arcane Wynlomere is acknowledged and recognised as a community devoted to learning, craft, and disciplined inquiry. The lawful practice of druidic, templar, shamanic, bardic, and allied magical traditions shall be permitted within the holdings of Wynlomere, in accordance with the laws of Norland and the strictures of the Red Law. The study of other phenomena shall be permitted solely as restrained, supervised, and deliberate research conducted within Wynlomere’s own lands, undertaken for understanding, mitigation, and prevention. Wynlomere shall bear responsibility with the High Hearth’s consent for the oversight, regulation, and containment of such study, and hereby acknowledges the Crown’s right to intervene should any such endeavour pose danger to the realm, its people, or its laws. Goodbyes Aren't Forever Hello everyone. I wish this post was under better circumstances. I've been on this server since 2021 and it was here that I met the love of my life. In all that time I've never really taken a step back but thats what this post is My mental health is a little worse for wear and i've decided to take my first hiatus so i can focus on myself and my family This isn't really a goodbye and it may not even be for very long. I still have plans for wynlomere afterall and those plans will continue but until that work is finished i wont be able to be around actively Thank you for your patience, for the fun years I've spent on this server and for all the connections I've made. I've had many good moments and I've had my fair share of struggles too. Help Finishing Vassal Upper City – 𝒲𝓎𝓃𝓁ó𝓂𝑒𝓇𝑒 Hello everyone! For the past few months my group and i have been working on a project very special to us, we are creating a vassal called Wynlómere. It was originally intended as a surprise, but we’ve reached a point where we need a little help to finally finish it off We’re looking for a builder (or a small team) who would be willing to help me finish the remaining work of the Vassal The current state of the build The upper city is already largely complete, and most of the heavy work has been done what left is mainly finishing and polishing, this includes Finishing any structure Completing interiors Touching up exteriors Creating a druid like grove to the side of the vassal (already been started) Finishing and improving the market area This is very much a finish a finish up and refinement project rather than starting from scratch Build theme and Aesthetic Style: High fantasy and very much whimsy think cosy storybook fantasy rather than rigid realism A cosy village that we want focused on community which means to feels welcoming, colourful and slightly magical Current core themes Whimsical underdark (being created by another builder and will be left in their hands) Hidden lower city, lush greenery, water features, and shire like vibes but under ground Community Communal spaces like gardens, firepits, and other rp areas (there is a guild building that needs finishing up which is just a large rp space with games, library another tavern and the like Lots of nature The build needs to have an abundant of nature aspects blending into it, stone, rooted dirt, water, firefly bushes, crystals (you’ll see where we’ve started with this) Architecture and Layout Warm, red and earthy tones, Heavy use of greenery, vines, flower, hanging leaves from roves, side of pathways and the like Lanterns banners, and other decorative blocks Outside market a few stalls dotted around the inside of the city (started but not at all close to being finished) Outside grove/garden (started on already currently has a tree and a pond around it but that is it) Payment I'm happy to pay in mina or with real money, depending on preference, payment can be discussed to suit what's fair for the work involved, but please note that my budget may not be the most extensive, for 1 person i think maybe the most i can do is around £50, but it can be discussed. Still Here, Still Writing A Beginning Hi everyone. with a new year approaching it felt like the right moment to finally say hello properly and share a little of my journey here. So hey, my name is Lavender, or Lav, I joined LOTC in May of 2021, at the time when real life was overwhelming and heavy like many people, i came here to escape when reality felt like too much, i came here to exist in a world that felt a little more manageable but what I didn't expect was how deeply this place would affect my life. My Identity within the server I've always been a fantasy player at heart, I don't think I've ever truly fit anywhere else. I'm the type of person who grew up obsessed with everything fantastical, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, you name it. Since joining i've always roleplayed as an elf, its my main go to, ad honestly i've always refused to play anything else, not out of stubbornness but because due to comfort, i joined the server to escape reality, playing lets say a human makes me feel like im stepping into something a little too close to home. Playing a fantasy creature helps me distance myself from the real world which can feel far to loud or fast. Struggling with a sense of belonging Right now much like I have in the past, I'm struggling to find where I belong again, not just as a player, but for my character too. I feel a little out of place, I'm caught between wanting connection and not quite knowing where either of us fit. Over the years, LOTC has given me communities that felt like home, like a family, and I've lost them as well. I've formed meaningful connections, and then watched them fade. I've come to find out just how deeply an online space can affect you, for better and for worse. LOTc has supported my mental health at times, and at others, it has honestly undeniably strained it. Gaining something incredibly important through the server But that being said LOTC has given me something that i will forever be grateful for Through this server, i met the love of my life, my partner, some may know him as echo, thanks to LOTC i've found the person i intend to spend the rest of my life with and one day marry, in a server that felt unsteady and at times often impossible to stay with, it helping me meet my partner has been my anchor, no matter how complicated my relation with LOTC has been, and may continue to be, meeting my partner here i shall always hold this server in a special space of my heart. Looking forward I've had my ups and downs, long breaks and quiet returns, I've had times I've enjoyed the server and moments I've also questioned if I even belonged here at all, but somehow I'm still here. And as a new year approaches, im trying to hold onto what this server has meant to me, a space i can be creative, a place i can escape to, and a place i can meet individuals i can connect with.
