  1. A missive would be sent out and posted within Urguan, free for all to read. The notice would have no signature or emblem attached to it. My fellow Dwed, upon this day a monumental change has swept the city. One which bears ill for the future of this place. I speak not of a trial, but of the Mori’s growth in the depths of Urguan. Today we divided ourselves, and today the Mori see us as their next victim. The Mori have encroached upon our doorstep, even going so far as to consume it in their web. No city united thus far has stood against this threat. Let us prepare to face the Mori who have decided Urguan is to be consumed. But, it seems the Dwed forgot who the enemy was today… Perhaps today we also make an effort to unite the Dwed in this threat? Surely if a Dwed can stand with you against the Mori they deserve the chance to live beside you as well. Let the Dwed the court has punished today instead be directed at the mutual enemy of all Dwed. Any dwarf who would be banished should be allowed to take up arms to defend their homeland and be granted a place in this city. You have already given them one path at redemption, surely another, showing their true loyalty to the Dwed, is not beyond reason. Let us not forget the enemy at our gates; so we may stab the allies to our side
  2. The following missive has been copied and spread across the continent, most prominently in the north. "A guide has been found for the lightless path. Among the forest and trees I walk and there is a spot of shadow among the darkened grove. Towards the shadow I walk, guided through the very night by a bleating of Goat, the stomping of hooves, and flashing of devilish eyes, and from the forest came I, to a starless sky. Before me laid an altar and devilish eyes staring at the depth of my soul. And so I laid myself to be sacrificed, a knife to back, a dagger to the heart. And in my sacrifice, I was saved by cloven hooves and devilish eyes. At that moment, I realized… This is my savior, the Goat with shadowed eyes." Below the text is the mark of a black crow with wings spread wide. It's single eye painted to resemble that of a goat's eye. On it's right talon appear to be several drops of blood.
  3. Meylis recognizes the mark in an instant. The mark of a friend and teacher. He reads the note carefully and returns to his lab to grab a small book, his own book of grudges. He reads each page carefully and commits every name to memory before striking them from his book, in their place he adds one name... "I suppose I'll need to ask what happened next I see him... and to thank him for so clearly painting a picture of the true plague of Urguan."
  4. In his lab Meylis stops what he's working on as chills roll over him, as another Frostbeard passes from the world. Upon hearing the confirmation of his suspicious he burns a small book. "To a fellow scholar, here's the first journal for your future journeys."
  5. "Ya know... I just taught the Tanglefoot recipe to a few students of mine. How odd this happens now. Oh, coincidences and all that mess." Meylis throws the missive in the waste bin and continues his work on a small piece of automaton which continues spouting obscenities.
  6. Meylis looks dissapointedly towards Norli as he walks away from the recently collapsed entrance the Khron Hundmar. He tries to think of something inspiring... something that would make Norli stop, but his time as a meal for the beasts underground keeps him from doing so. Instead his own thoughts rush, perhaps now is the time to retire... he had only just recovered from the wounds dealt from the last altercation when he was forced to face death again and this was a tiring life. A face strikes his memory, and he makes a promise not to say goodbye. "I still have many questions for you about being our people, I never got the true chance to learn over all these years." Meylis doesn't like the response Norli gives, but hopefully it's something he can ask again one day.
  7. A dwarf finds the missive well taking a walk along a northern beach, and immediately walks back to his new home in the mountain. Once there he opens a small door and walks to a locked case, he disregards the sword and hat and instead grabs several notes from the case. He compares the missive to the the letters and notes before sighing. Meylis says "Bastard must be a Goldhand to come back from the dead" before grabbing the aurum axe used to single handidly break Galve's Defenses last time.
  8. Very sexy... but also no link to Animatii? I guess it's kinda weird it it's placement and the rewrite that came up! Thanks <3
  9. "The peice on alchemy looks decent. Doesn't seem to quite fit with the rest of the document as well as I'd hoped" Meylis says looking at the completed section on alchemy. "And I'm not sure how much teaching we'll accomplish until we have a decent lab, but it would be good to see who comes seeking knowledge and to begin weeding them out!"
  10. Meylis carefully signs his name after considering the ramifications. A step away from politics, and a place for him to work and live without worry. He does so wish for a place to work and live in peace, where the skill of a craftsman takes him further than his name or connections. He knows these thoughts are too hopeful, so he hopes for just the one thing before signing his name on to the document: Peace and a place for good works.
  11. Meylis looks at the missive before pulling out a small peice of paper and a quill made with a raven's feather. He finds a place to begin writing and takes a moment to center himself and bring his excitement under control. But, oh was he excited. He knew which each meant. Human alchemy... Flesh Molding. The other, machine... he supposed it could be either macro or micro engineering, likely micro given the detailed of creating life, but that detail was not of much importance. Flesh molding... He quickly brings quill to paper and begins writing. Going through several drafts before he reads through his completed work. With ink and quill he copies the letter the final draft and attaches his orginal letter to the missive as requested. Hello Cain Thelin, I am unsure what title to place before your name, so I have merely placed the one you used. I will be, I hope, be brief. I seek to learn, as you put it, the human part of alchemy. I came to learn the basic idea of it from my first teacher of the alchemical. You see, he applied something to mold the flesh of my nose back into it's proper form. For a time I was unaware of the change until it was pointed out to me. After sometime he answered my questions about it. Since that point the skill has not left my mind's eye. Regardless, this detailing does not answer the question to posed to us, your would-be students. So, why do I wish such knowledge? The first reason of mine is to acquire the ability to pass such knowledge, after learning alchemy I sought to take on a student of my own, such a task has been difficult. My first two apprentinces flaming out and disapeering from my notice, now I seek them more carefully, but I do still seek them. In my wish to teach, and my experience; I can understand if you wish whatever skills passed to stay with me, I will follow your wishes on that matter. The second is far simpler I suppose. My teacher posed the alchemical as a way to alter the world around us, I only wish to delve further upon this path of alteration and understanding. If I am selected I currently hold residence in Dowry St.II of Haense under the name Meylis Frostbeard. If I am not selected I would still like to ask, why now? Fortunes Favor You, - Meylis Frostbeard.
  12. Meylis sits in his lab preparing Auric Oil, Blasting potions, and Tanglefoot. "I won't be caught off my guard again. Next time I'll be prepared..." He then thinks sadly about the brave life lost this day "... I'll be prepared ta avenge dat Donkey"
  13. Meylis 'The Raven' Frostbeard clears the blood from his bear skin cloak and grunts in approval upon learning more of the history of his clan. He says to himself. "Perhaps blades of Frost are just the image we need... my axe could use a cool touch."
  14. I find these really interesting, especially the idea of preserving someone in a vat, and well that does feel a little similar to Tawkin, Tawkin is about creating, not preserving so I think it's solid. The only one I have real issue with is death dispersion which feels a little over-the-top due to how widely it effects the spook community. Typically something that shuts down such a wide group of CAs has either a lot of downsides or is limited in nature. This isn't really either. Other than that, I don't see the reasoning for making all of these rare (barring perhaps Death Dispersion.) This is another pack that to me will become another check on the recipe book you don't see frequently even though people work to get it. Rare potions should have a reason to be rare, rather than just wanting to limit knowledge. The best reasons I've seen for rare potions are because they are culture specific (see warforging) or they have a powerful effect that shouldn't be open to the public (Best example is probably the Lector Packs for this) If you want these potions to be rare give them a reason why the knowledge would be uncommon tbh, even if it's as simple as connecting it to specific group or making it so it requires an obession with cadavers or something. This isn't just an issue with this pack BTW, it's more of an issue with alchemy in general ATM. Rare seems to be the default for a lot of potions with interesting reasoning. Edit: Beyond this, I am a big fan of the additional requirments for brewing such as Aurum Cauldron or requires brewing in direct sunlight. I love little additions like this cause it give a potion more flavor to work with overall. I'm stealing this idea me thinks :P
  15. +1 I'm def not biased cause a lector taught me and I like the lector packs Desalination is genuinely a real cool idea. I'm also stealing the lector format for alchemy additions I make
  16. Honestely a big fan, could be a great addition for Evocation training and lore, I'd love to see a variant of self-teaching return using these!
  17. Meylis sighs "Honestely... that was a boring fight. I was hoping for some really competition. Guess it will have to wait."
  18. Meylis furiously checks his mailbox only to see complaints about font size. "How disapointing."

  20. As someone who has allegiances to multiple groups and has made a point to find branch out and RP and join groups outside my own nation. I have no idea why you would limit the amount of groups to one. Is it so hard to believe that I might be a member of a settlement and a nation at the same time? On a further note this looks like you are planning to implement nation based activity IE: choose a nation your activity goes to. I sincerly hope I'm reading to far into this becuase if that's the plan this is a really poor solution for those of us who make efforts to get activity for settlements and not just our own nation. I think the activity calculation needs to be looked at but if this is the plan it should be left alone. Barring both of these issues, I think this is a good change to ensure people don't just jump between groups so they can show up to a random raid or war and begin participating, I just think it could use more community consideration before implementing something like this in future.
  21. Meylis sighs upon seeing the news. "I hope for our sake it cannot be spread post-mortem. Where on earth will I get more Cadavers to study if I have to burn the dead."
  22. Needs more clarity on what disconnect means. Under normal circumstances Voidal Water should vanish when line of sight is lost. I would put it down as just "voidal water vanishes when the Evocationist loses sight or disconnects the spell." That just closes any loopholes related to water weighing down something or causing any other weird interactions.
