the problem with systems like this is that they either completely destroy void magic, or they do literally nothing and are pointless. one's actively bad, and the other is "why bother". controversial opinion- if you let a void mage cast six t5 spells on you you deserve the L. you just let them get, what, twenty consecutive uninterupted emotes and DONT expect them to win? cmon bro. -

i have rp'd with maybe half a dozen ologs this map, and they exclusively may as well have been spongebob characters one step away from literally emoting shitting themselves. i think the "you're busted overpowered but also genuinely mentally disabled" is a kind of character archetype that only appeals to people who want to make non-serious troll characters going "hurr durr" then punching a hole straight through someone's chest, which is not the sort of roleplay niche i think we should encourage in any form. i'm sure there are decent olog players, i have not roleplayed with the horde community at large in many months and i am therefore limited in this experience, but i have yet to encounter them and see no reason to keep olog in it's current form. all that being said, i actually like the vibe here. i see no issues with the magics they have access to considering virtually everything except housemagery, bardmancy, and some type of shamanism will remove all of their special olog abilities, and therefore have no balance consideration problems. -

people with 5 mas in magic get blacklisted or warned literally all the time lmao. this spell, in particular, i feel is just a bad idea. it's going to cause a LOT of confusion and people being weird, and the benefit, overall, i think is not very high. it reduces magic identity imo. -

i remember a couple years ago when min-maxxer players started playing asian characters and all of them talked using rs in places of ls and shit like that going "herro herro" and i said "isn't this cringe" and i was told by them "no that's actually how they talk" and for like a year and a half there were a bunch of genuine yellow-face stereotypes just walking around.

Once he concludes with the segment focusing on himself, his attention once more returns to the paperwork. "... I might have had Phoebe do this work, the whole time?" He questions to the open air, the maid long since having left. -
realistically, i don't think any of the people playing cringe characters at 5-9 would stop being cringe if they had to be 10-14. this is as performative as a change as "ban all romance rp" in what it would actually do for the server imo (functionally nothing). i recently (like a year ago at this point. . .) started a new persona, fresh from the stork at age 5, and i had a reasonably good time with the other wave of young roleplayers in the empire at that time, whom all were, in my experience, fairly normal. the exception was people who were playing young characters and did nothing of substance, whose characters then grew into adults who continue doing nothing of substance. ultimately i think it's a player problem more than a systematic one. this is also a very good point. it would just slog down a /ton/ of rp for no particular benefit, because the good roleplayer you got will probably be a good five year old and a good ten year old, but the pvp goon who has never --'d an emote in their life will troll just as much at 5 and 10 and 15 and 20 and 25 and 30 and 35 and etc.

there is now, by my count, 72 combined capitals, vassals, and settlements on the server.

functionally, to me, if these are now costed at approx what realms were before, and realm prices have gone up, settlements arn't actually a new system at all. these are slightly cheaper and with five (5) less signatures, and in exchange you also have way less rights LMAO. the actual functional mechanics of this going forward is that the currently existing "legacy" realms are going to be the actual bosses of the server, and these settlements are just realms but worse. anyone who could've raised 10k could also raise 15k. anyone who could've rallied 20 people could've rallied 25. this has just made proper realm ownership unachievable for most of the community, and given a watered down slightly more attainable version of the old system in it's place. i don't think settlements realistically solve any issues at this current pricing structure. it just seems like a nerf for new communities that might want to try and sprout up.

neat. i had workshopped an elysari write myself some months ago, and it's interesting how we came to similar ideas (though executed far differently). it has the main bullet point i think a magic drawn from saphiel needs, namely that it is almost purely defensive. mercy girl shouldn't be helping fools brain each other. i like it! i like the direction and the theming. in terms of balance, i thought cleric was egregiously busted, and elysari just seem overall weaker than clerics (albeit they're doing completely different things and fulfilling different roles), so i don't see anything in here that springs up at me as overly strong. i might suggest putting spell info into spoilers though, just to break up the absolute volume of text, but maybe i'm just too old head. some lines between each spell wouldn't go amiss either, alternatively.
