  1. I do believe this is a request for the thread to be locked.
  2. The original flaw lies in the basis of this thread as claiming to be Wiccan, I'd advise editing that out. Secondly, the stigma that the Christian religion (And many others) holds towards Witchcraft in general is, already, very large. Associating it with dark magic even in a roleplay environment can only make that worse. I would like to clarify that by no means am I saying this stigma is valid, it simply exists. Third, much of this can already be done with current magic lore, and the availability to stretch magic lore as you need to given to the unlocking. Your claim that it cannot be done to the full extent is incorrect, you simply require a little creativity and a little reading into the rules and current magic types to make it function. Remember everyone: We're a community of people with each other, not against each other. This is a game, not a righteous crusade into the digital age.

  6. I'm actually rather interested in this idea, even if it were to only be put into practice for events and the like. However, like Blindmind mentioned, I'd really like to know if there was any way the ritual could fail, and, if so, what would happen? Could they burst into shadows, never to reform? Rather than require the blood of all four original races, I'd recommend that each blood type used would grant the ability to shift into that race, which could, potentially, include Kharajyr. If they were to be this race, would they be fertile? So, given the possibility of them encountering a relationship, could offspring be formed? If so, would the offspring be normal, or have the curse of the other race, or would they be another one of the Shadows? I'd also like to know how it is that the other ingredients, besides the room, knife, and diamond shape, are used in the ritual. I may have accidentally missed that, but I don't believe you outright stated it. Finally, the name 'The Dark Ones' is a tad unoriginal. I'd recommend trying to come up with something unique, like the names you came up for the characters. The Dark Ones could simply be what they're called in different legends and the like. As a note, I'd also recommend you allow the creator character to just be vanished. If you intend to have this an open magic, it'd be impossible to know who was a part of the group, first of all, and it's a little special-snowflake-y to play the creator.
  7. ::OOC:: {A letter arrives, bound to the back of a noble hawk. Unrolling it would reveal flowing script text upon parchment.} Ja’Sahra of the Kha’Cheetrah inquires for entrance to the halls of your Academy on the grounds of her standing with the Arcane Vigil. While she doesn’t see the need for her age to be requested, she is reaching eighty years, mid-adulthood for a Kharajyr. This Kha’ is primarily interested in the promise of Scholarly and Magecraft classes, although she might peer at the Hunter classes if some interest her. She finds herself falling away from combatative nature in her age, and wishes to expand her mind as much as possible. Sahra will await your response. {A flowing signature seals the letter.}
  8. A letter is taken to the location requested, baring the seal of a trident in bright purple wax. Upon breaking the seal, the letter appears to be formed in immaculate handwriting, flowing script. “Sa’vi, Greetings, This Kha’, Ja’Sahra the Cheetrah, wishes to request presence in your order. She holds within her fist the power of Muun’Trivazja, magic of the Kharajyr priesthood, with the addition of intimate knowledge of how the Monks of the Cloud Temple conduct their business. While it is true she wishes for said adventure, knowledge, and companionship, she wishes to make something clear: Her loyalties lie with the Kharajyr above all else. Should something within the order whisper of betrayal towards her culture, she would not tolerate it. This is not a threat, merely an understanding she wishes to make clear should she be welcomed. Her solemn swear holds this clause, should said swear be required of her. As to the situations mentioned, were Sahra to come upon this ruin, she would explore herself. She is rarely frightened of strange things, and if it her time to go, Metztli will call upon her. Were she to be at a bar and overhear, she would most likely try to see if she could beat the strange figures to this artifact, or at least follow them there. Finally, if she were to come upon this robbery, she would most likely not intervene. Not that she has a vendetta against necromancy, but that she feels no need to put her life in danger for a stranger’s sake. The bird will remain for your answer, and seek this Kha' out.” A closing, spiraling signature ends the letter,
  9. This will actually be really helpful for the monks, thanks. By the way, your tags failed inside of the spoiler.
  10. Although there's still quite a bit to do, I'm done for the night, so if anyone is curious to learn more about my character Sahra: http://tinyurl.com/eschchars

  11. The issue with rolling is that we don't have an attribute system similar to Traditional Gaming. PVP is just how it is for now. As to this guide, well done, I'm certain some will find it useful.
  12. Back in black! In my own defense, it was a week and a day.

  14. Here's the deal. Do what you want, however, would you mind changing the name? I don't care if you call them Lunar Warriors or Edgy Masters of Support, I just don't want this group associated with the same terminology as the monks. As to what us Cloud Temple monks can do... well, I like to let rumors spread.
  15. Heads up to these so-called clerics playing as monks without my permission: If I catch you, you will be ban reported.

  16. Another note is tacked beneath this one: "The merchants are having some trouble on the roads, they may be late." A little improper planning has led to a mishap, so I have to wait for something to occur before I can begin this. Apologies to those who are looking forward to it. Hopefully it'll still be doable tonight. Update: It'll be done tomorrow, same place, same time.
  17. As one approaches the Cloud Temple, whether it be willing to visit, or unwilling from death, they would gain sight of a certain poster hanging. There seemed to be several, actually: at the center, inside the tavern, on a notification page, and elsewhere. Taking a quick look, one would see the title jump out at them. "Soon, we will start a bi-annual tradition of a market that will be opened at the Crossroads! During this time, we will hold various competitions, sell rare and unique items, and hold various events! All are invited, Elf, Kharajyr, Human, Orc, and Dwarf alike. We request a peaceful time, and in case you don't believe yourself capable of that, the aura protecting the Temple itself extends over the fairgrounds, preventing any and all harmful actions. We, the monks of the Temple, as well as the merchants that will be running the affair, most humbly request the attendance of all who wish to partake, and if any would desire the possibility of providing mercantile services, we would request you send a letter to Monk Lucian Evermist Goldmoon. Otherwise, the first bi-annual event will be held in a quarter-year's time!" These events will be held once a week, most likely Friday at, approximately, 9PM EST. How long they extend will depend on the day, I start late in Eastern time so that there will be the possibility of other timezones attending. During these events, the artifacts given to the monks by Blundermore will be distributed, although how, and to whom, will not be revealed. If you have any complaints or comments, post them below (both IC and OOC), and if you have interest to sell there send me a PM on the forums. Cheers!
  18. And now, after a long day of temple renovations, the Escharian retreats to it's cave for sleeping.

  19. Hats off to Rhaekn for having 3 posts and 70+ rep.

  20. Surprise wedding in the CT. Much fun.

  21. Yes, it is. It doesn't break mechanical standard, therefore it is allowed.
