Try something new, I tend to switch my roleplaying style every phase the server goes through. In 1.0 I was Ascended, 2.0 I was Teutonic, 3.0 I was Orenian, perhaps in 4.0 I will go Elven or Dwarf? A good mix of roleplay is what makes you get the full story, and not just some small part.

I tried. I went back to my orc, not enjoying it that much. It's just that new characters never had the spark that my old character had.

Then bring back your old character! Go out with them, hit a tavern, ask about current events. Find a job. Meet new people. All that good stuff. Fifteen minutes of interaction won't get you any roleplay; you need to go out and make it.
