  1. We attempted a guild system back at the end of Anthos, and into The Fringe, and it failed due to guilds not being active, or the lack of guilds. As far as 'increasing the efficiency of guilds', I mean.. unless you take money from companies directly, they won't magically slip into your pocket, and even then 50 minas won't make up for a whole month of business.
  2. Why would you want to bring back something we tried, and failed at? That would be the most autistic thing to do. Also the kingdom can't run by just having dwarves 'work', since there wouldn't be a steady flow of any minas whatsoever going toward the kingdom. The only thing I can see from this another council being added that won't do anything at all like they normally do, and clan thanes making a company and getting power that way.
  3. -Thoak Goldhand has Lathros's manifest read by Burtor Gemback- "Tis is yer plan? Tae revert beck to tae ways t'at ran tis kingdom into tae groond? To bring back tae almost nonresistant guilds, an' tae give 'em a district within' tae 'ole we live in? To add more cooncils to tis flawed kingdom, an' give more pooer to t'ose t'at dunnae deserve 'oot? I am sorry lad, but I dunnae support any 'o t'ese ideas, 'ur changes. Also tae kingdom cannae run on just 'andin' 'oot hooses fer free, an' tae tax 'em fer a mere shite amoont 'o mina."
  4. -Thoak Goldhand, Grand Merchant of the Kingdom of Urguan shrugs. If they have complaints about the economy and taxes, then they should speak to the Grand Merchant who is in charge of it. Don't worry. Thoak Goldhand doesn't bite.-
  5. -Thoak Goldhand, Grand Merchant of the Urguan Kingdom wonders where these complaints of taxes, and 'hideouts' are coming from, as he has never received such complaints.-
  6. "Aye but there was no reason for Midgor to get usurped from the throne by you greedy thanes who nominated yourself for kingship. Midgor did his job well, and more well than the previous kings and probably the future kings to come. If you truely do not wish for kingship because of power, then fully remove those corrupted clans completely from Thaneship and do what is right for the kingdom!" (( No accent because on mobile ))
  7. "Tis is tae true corruption ye 'ave 'eard 'boot within' tis thane system. Noo' ye all shoold truely knoo' wot corruption lurks within' 'ur kingdom!"
  8. (( Basically the Thanes/Lords nominate who they think is worthy or capable of leading the kingdom, and this tends to result in Thanes nominating someone from their clan, and nobody outside of it. ))
  9. Mutters a crude remark about clans "Blame tae corrupted clan t'at 'ave been in pooer fer too long."
  10. Your Name: Thoak Goldhand ((MC Name)): Thoak_Sludgefist Candidates for Grand King: Grunmin Starbreaker ((Grunmin)): X
  11. Edit from previous statement: By order of Grand King Midgor Ireheart the Grandaxe Clanhall tax will be raised to 500 minas per stone week. Also, merchant stalls have had their tax increased to 100 minas per stone week.
  12. "Tae Grandaxes bought a house fer five 'hundred minas as their clan hall only making t'eir tax fifty minas per week."
  13. -Companies- For those who have established companies within the kingdom of Urguan. Each company will be taxed based on the fields they have. Each field is 100 minas each, with blacksmithing being an extra 25 minas (125) and tinkering with an extra 75 minas (175). The normal field tax = 100 minasCompanies with smithing = 25 minasCompanies with tinkering = 75 minas
  14. Official Taxation of = Kal’Agnar = “We have what it takes to take what you have.” Today, 15th of the Deep Cold, 1469 marks the official announcement of taxation within the city of Kal’Agnar. All taxes are expected to be met on time, if not then you will face punishment. You will be given a full week starting from the 1st Stone Day to the 6th Stone Day to pay your taxes giving the Grand Merchant the 7th Stone Day to collect and record taxes. If you do turn in your taxes on that week you will receive dirt in your taxation box until it reaches covers up the bottom of the chest ( 3 Blocks) giving you three full weeks to fully pay off what you owe before the kingdom evicts you from your house and takes all of your possessions. You will also be wanted for ‘Tax Evasion’, and will be wanted until you are willing to submit yourself to the kingdom. Taxes will begin on the first month of next year (September 1st). Each plot of land within the city will be taxed 10% of its original price it sold for. Items will not be accepted, only mina. How to pay your taxes: To pay your taxes you must first go to the taxation office within the city of Kal’Agnar. The taxation office can be found near the Merchant Square near the center of the city: After entering the taxation office, go down the stairs. Vakun will greet you and you will be able to purchase the amount of ‘Tax Tokens’ you need to pay off your tax: After purchasing the amount of tokens you need, go through the two double doors and go down the stairs. You will be met with two options, the doors on the left and the doors on the right. Pick the door you need to go to pay off your tax: Once you have found your taxation chest, drop off your tokens into the your chest. After that you will be relieved that you have just payed off your tax and you can happily leave the kingdom knowing that those minas are going toward helping your kingdom grow and prosper If you are not able to pay your tax due to travels outside the city, then send a letter to Grand Merchant Thoak Goldhand detailing your leave and how long you will be gone for (PM via forums) Taxation Price: dwarf_house1-17 = 100 minas dwarf_house18-19 = 150 minas dwarf_merchant1-8 = 100 minas dwarf_inside1-14 = 200 minas dwarf_hall1-6 = 500 minas dwarfpoor1-8 = 50 minas Starbreaker Hall = 500 minas -Pay the Grand Merchant directly- Grandaxe Hall = 500 minas -Pay the Grand Merchant directly- Irongut Hall = 500 Minas -Pay the Grand Merchant directly- Things to note: Taxes begin every Sunday and end every Friday Taxes will begin September 1st, 2014 You will be given 3 full weeks to pay off your tax for those weeks you did not pay Your tax will be 10% of your total house value
  15. ((Yes Saturdays would be more convenient for people. So it would be wise to move sermons over to that day instead. Really having more people or a rank able to conduct sermons would probably be better))
  16. "If t'ere is nae anyone goin' to tae sermons, t'en ye are obvioosly dein' somethin' wrong!" (( Really 7 GMT is too early for most Americans. People are just getting out of school, or still working at this time if you live in EST, and even earlier if you live in CDT or PDT ))
  17. -Mutters under his breath after his taxation collector Vakun reads the poster to him- "Bah, tis is all bloon 'oot 'o proportion. Lori was disrespectful tae entire time, an' speakin' nothin' but nonsense as if 'E was controlled by Khorvad 'imself, ye coold even say t'at Lori went stark. 'Oot is sad t'at little blood like tis causes tis much chaos, even t'ough we 'urselves are more savage t'an we realize, an' t'at tis kingdom spills more blood t'an tae orcs, 'umans, an' elves combined."
  18. -Thoak nods, listening to the words of others- "Oot is 'boot time ye all take yer stand, instead 'o bein' blinded by tis shite. Ever since tae reign 'o Indago t'ese two lords 'ave kept t'eir title as lord an' 'ave done nothin' but influence an' run 'ur kingdom into tae dirt. I 'ave said tis many times, an' 'ave even pointed 'oot t'eir flaws an' was only shunned an' threatened tae be banished from tae kingdom. T'ey may t'ink t'at wot t'ey de is right, hooever 'oot is not. T'ese two lords ra'ter watch us fight fer t'em an' watch 'ur brot'ers an' sisters get slaughtered by tae 'umans t'en 'and t'eirselves ova' to 'em when Hoose Carrion requested fer t'em tae end tae war. T'ey 'ave also bent tae constitution on a whim tae benefit t'eirselves an' t'eir power. If t'ey t'ink wot t'ey 'ur dein' is right, t'en t'ey 'ave turned t'eir beck on tae trust 'o Grand King Midgor, an' is decision of the removal of Lord Onar, an' 'ave practically spat in 'is face! If ye wish tae de wot is best fer tae kingdom, t'en stepping doon is tae obvious choice fer we 'o Urguan wish 'oot."
  19. -Thoak shakes his head in disgust of such a tower being built- "NAE! Tis is nae somethin' t'at shoold be loomin' over us while we continue 'ur days in tis place ye call a 'city'. From wot ot'ers describe 'o tae city is a dark an' dreary place wit' tae poor choice 'o usin' spruce wood upon gray stone, an' tis does nae 'elp. I also like tae state t'at tae undergroond an' tae moontains are 'ur 'ome. Nae tae sky. Tis tower from wot ot'ers describe tae me is 'uge an' almost pierces tae sky as if we 'ur some kind 'o pig 'umans, 'ur 'Igh Elves buildin' t'ese overly sized buildin's fer nae purpose." Grand Merchant Thoak Goldhand: DOES NOT APPROVE
  20. -Thoak shrugs after hearing about the new proclamations- "Some 'o t'ese restrictions seem too exact. Ale shoold be freely distributed throoghoot tae kingdom, an' sold w'ere we please fer 'oot is tae drink 'o 'ur ancestors, an' nae just sold in a single bar within' tae city. Companies shoold also 'ave tae freedom to sell to who t'ey please an' nae to just tae kingdom, 'ur t'ose within' 'oot as long as t'ey dunnae sell to 'ur enemies. Goods shoold also be sold w'en companies wish tae sell, an' nae at a certain time 'ur place. T'ese 'rules' 'ur too restrictive an' too exact. Ye cannae expect anyone tae folloo' t'ese rules."
  21. Not positive of the dimensions, but have a look at this. http://www.minecraftworldmap.com/worlds/Jq7Ra#/-474/64/590/-5/0/0
  22. -A notice in bold letters is posted below the 'Taxation Notice'- Remember, if you cannot pay your taxes in mina, please send a letter to the Taxation Office regarding your tax. If you cannot pay in mina, then you can quite simply pay in resources, and in materials to pay off what you owe. (Simply PM me on the forums. The letter must be ICly)
  23. -Thoak puts his hands on his waist, and chuckles to himself as he listens to the cries of other dwarves- "A kingdom cannae run wit'oot taxes, yer an idiot tae t'ink ot'erwise."
