  1. Excellent meme! Justified RP immortality is dumb as **** and giving players that was a massive mistake. PK'ing after five deaths or even after one death is far more respectable. People need to learn to detach themselves from chars. Developing a character is fine, but it's when you essentially self-insert and make them into a power fantasy that things get wonky. People grow too attached.
  2. there's this easy thing called not dying that you can do if you play your cards right in a combat situation tree lords are just a way to bypass worry and live out another powerfantasy as most endgames do, it's undefendable and no amount of lore will make it less gay as ****
  3. soul trees are gay af, so are most endgames honestly magic to begin with was good, it's just that people like to live out their power fantasies through their characters so they become massive ******* about it and decide to alter **** around to ensure that they're cool and awesome and sexy hot spicy! you literally have players picking and choosing magic OOCly and making characters for it because "hmm this looks like a cool powerful magic i want this" **** nu-magic.
  4. [Continued from https://www.lordofthecraft.net/forums/topic/169694-the-shores-are-bleeding/?tab=comments#comment-1601208] It had been several months since Caras Eldar was assaulted by the droquar. The devastation of the farmlands and wall that Tokovolos caused in its wroth state had been mended after hands of druids and non-druids alike sweated to repair. The Descendant residents of the city had gone on about their business for the most part, priorities changing with the retreat of the draconic beast. But the fear was still fresh in many a mind, and the worry grew pressing. Morotokos' raucous arrival on the docks of the dark elven district was the advent of the conflict between the Dominion and formidable beasts of an ancient time, the first confrontation ending with the droquar's retreat into the azure depths with an obsolete eye, courtesy of an Ascended mage's fireball of overwhelming power and heat. With that came a lull in activity from the ocean waters, an extended amount of time passing before Tokovolos eventually waded onto the shore and delved further inland, towards the wall of the Dominion's jewel as if to avenge its comrades suffering. However, the Elven forces endured and repelled the greater droquar by means of a mighty rune cannon, causing a considerable chest wound which the droquar would now carry. Individuals of both government and Virarim had developed their own worries alongside the citizenry about the aggressive belligerents and the reality of the danger they were in while the duo continued to live beneath the surface of the ocean blue, prepared to strike at any time. Within little time and lacking argument, a decision was reached by those on high: a hunt would be held, for the safety and prosperity of the Dominion. Preparations for an expedition were to begin soon, to seek out the draconic fiends and put an end to their nuisance of an existence. As Elven minds toiled and hands went to work gathering materials and the means to slay mighty foes, the sands of beaches and tides that flowed in would gradually grow more crimson by the week. What these red messengers left behind on the shore were occasional bits of blubber, fish meat and heads, fins, and a variety of other half-eaten aquatic life. For miles out, the ocean shared by the Dominion and Enchantry's hue appeared noticeably rufescent. What floated to the surface were similar to what had washed up on beaches, some bits small, some comparable to the size of a raft fit for a seven. And beneath the depths of the bloody sea, mounds of layered sand became disturbed. Grand beasts had been roused from slumber. ((Event begins Sunday, 8 PM EST, 1/21/18, starting within Caras Eldar))
  5. Were gravens weak before? They seemed pretty average to me, and could even use magic. But yeah wights/mystics shouldn't have to create a graven, gravens should occur when someone's task has not been completed and their will is great enough to manifest as a graven in order to complete it so they can fug off from ghostdom
  6. "Uh-oh!" exclaims Veidan in fear!
  7. >close gates to protect active roleplayers from raids >city goes inactive >raids get goin' >get raided until it goes inactive
  8. "Didn't two of your officials or royalty attend the ceremony and stop by to tell the high princess that they were proud of our attempts at Elven unification? What the hell?!" Veidan exclaims, clenching his fists in frustration.
  9. im not sure about the forced thing, i was quite sure frost witches arent turned by force but they have to accept the gift, though i might be wrong about that though @Demotheusthe uuuuuuuh analogy is a bit odd because you dont **** cows, marry cows, have cows cheat on you, be a widower to a cow, cows dont try and kill you and are scared of you and what not so i SORT OF kind of get what you're sayin
  10. https://gyazo.com/37a21d3fc8b68e308fd7289e9bf36d98 https://gyazo.com/47e1151144d808fb3a93156b93e534cf there is nothing explicitly saying "you cant **** men or have relationships with them" but everything im reading is pretty much saying "they think men are cattle and will eat them unless they can spot out their disguise, in which case they would give the favors" And I'm fine with frost witches being sociopaths, manipulative, using men to their own end if it means getting them their next meal or ensuring that their coven remains alive. What I don't understand is how they can get into a genuine relationship with men, have genuine sympathy/compassion and have sexual intercourse with them
  11. youre right its quite unfortunate when randos decide to just say **** it to the original lore and disrespect the lore writer and the effort they spent into trying to create something interesting because they want to engage in odd sexual intercourse with their frost bodies
  12. you can have plenty of interesting characters that dont **** men or are in genuine relationships with one And yes this is serious @zaezae
  13. Good idea, though if it were up to me I believe that such tremendous decisions such as becoming a frost witch should be punished if the player OOCly decides "nah i dont like this path", let them actually use the marbles in their head to think about whether or not a character will go through with it. Make the frost curse permanent. make love for men or anything else completely impossible, make them sociopathic, manipulative, flesh-hungry sisterhoods of ice magic casting that work to keep their coven alive and spread.
  14. lore amendment: i think it would be great if frost witches couldnt have emotions such as love and compassion and sympathy for men, also that they should go ravenous when in the presence of male flesh, or rather they should be hooked on trying to seduce them to somewhere else and eat them, also can we make it so that men cannot have sex with frost witches

  17. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH WAIT ZARSIES THAT WAS YOU??????? i take back that insult however I will not take back that it went downhill very fast and it was not possibly a good move, as i had walked around and begun to witness voidal horrors just casually chilling in taverns and having little mystery surrounding them as was originally planned, making them more common and thus not as interesting to the common playerbase, lessening their potential which i believe could have been greater had they been in ET care. more magical things imho should be the dessert, not the main dish. still present, but not so common that you can walk into a city and just see four types of different high fantasy creatures sitting on a bench and having casual convos
  18. a bit tired of all this "powerful stuff" people play with these """""drawbacks""""" honestly it just gets tiresome i read the original voidal horror lore and it was just meant to be rare and for ET but then some stupid dumbass decided that players could have access to it and it went downhill and became common garbage to see a tavern roleplaying voidal horror, please stop letting players have access to ALL these things and let the ET take back these things for events while the LT weedwhack all the ******* lore that is around it's like, come the **** on you can only take a power fantasy so far until it just becomes sad and it's like "alright ur just making this **** so you can feel important bc ur playing an interesting, hyper-intelligent and powerful mystical being" the biggest redpill after all these years is realizing the best and most notable characters arent the non-binary gendered people, the archons, the treelords/alpha ferals, or some 6'5" super assassin soldier knight murderizer, it's just the characters that are literally just regular elves, humans, orcs, and dwarves with maybe some magic, like maybe some had shamanism, or an evocation, but they didnt base their char around that they managed to make themselves notable because they were good roleplayers and had motives and morals and principles that they embedded their character with, and most of the forgettable chars are the ones who are played out by people who live out their power fantasy through "muh POWER" type characters the roleplay is seldom truly the best so LT please just force people to actually make good characters instead of power trips and stop accepting this endgame type lore for real -1
