As she rests in bed alone, Riddeth Thunderblade-Irongrinder breathes in a shaky breath. These past few years had been hard on her. Since she gave birth to her only son, she had been sick in bed. She had been visited by healers, but their efforts only relieved her sickness temporarily. She stayed in bed, sheets up to her chin. She had a glass of water by her side always.
Her husband, Zahrer, was out with the others fighting in the war. She did not see him often, but he did drop by every now and again to see her. She even once saw her father, who had also returned from his travels to fight Oren and their allies. As for her son, she only saw him once or twice. She didn't want him to see his mother like this.
She pulled herself up to a sitting position, pain coursing through her body. She hadn't moved much, only to relieve herself or to go get something light to eat, so every movement ached. Sweat poured off her face, her fever growing worse. She knew she didn't have much time. She took out a piece of paper, an inkpot, and a quill.
To my wonderful friends and family:
I love each and every one of you. It's been too long since I have seen you all, and I fear that I will not see your faces again. I've enjoyed many years of good times and endured through hard times, but I always had you by my side. To my father, know that I love you to the moon and back. I have supported and cared for you, given my all, and I hope you'll do the same for Zahrer and your grandson. To my brothers, I don't see you much, but I still love you. To my husband, I love you with my whole heart. You made me a better person, and you taught me how to love and not fear what is to come. Teach our boy how to be a good dwarf, one who is kind and strong and unafraid. To my son, know that your mother loves you. When you were born, it was the happiest moment of my life. Do me proud, be the best dwarf you can be. To my friends, have an ale in my name. I owe you the best years of my life.
Yours forever, Riddeth
With that, she laid her things to the side, laid her head back on her pillow, and sighed. She was content, something she hadn't felt in a long time.
"Ah'll miss ye all."
She closed her eyes and breathed her last, smile upon her lips.
((Riddeth has been inactive for so long, I've decided to PK her. She kinda didn't really do much anyways. I've had lots of fun rping with you dwarves, keep being the crazy bunch you are.))
