  1. Vladan ponders the existence of Rivia.
  2. Judging if you fired off all of your 9 shots, the fact that one malfunctioned is actually pretty impressive, many more probably could have considering the odds. Quite frankly, you guys failed because you didn’t have your **** together, we did. This victory isn’t the fault of anything but our organization and your lack of it.
  3. Oh. because people don't go to war against others for OOC grudges rn, right? Thats why all of ACU and Norland's men are totally not helping Reivers, right?
  4. I wonder why the CB system is so restrictive. In real life nations or groups would burn down cities because they practiced a different religion or looked a different way, or even to cement hegemony, etc. But now the sky gods won't let this happen irp.
  5. Let me just remind you that whoever may participate in a warclaim is determined by the warclaim post. Reivers were told to fight alone, an RP post at 2:40 PM EST, a mere 20 minutes before the warclaim, cannot justify the participation of 50 people. If you wanted to join the warclaim, join the reivers, which I'm sure you want to do, or make an RP post before the war is waged, which unfortunately, you can't. You knew what you were doing, you knew it was a slimy, shitty and underhanded thing to do, and you got caught, cried, and called it an attack on RP. Let me also state that if you want the war rules changed to further reflect "RP," perhaps removing the CB system should be removed as well, although I don't see you complaining about admin intervention there. >Renatian
  6. Vladan finds the undead rather distasteful.
  7. Role-play: Vladan Valek woke in a sweat. Whoops and screams of the savages rattled through his memories, through his office, through his soul. Waking from his nap, still slightly inebriated, Vladan rose, stumbling outside, looking around as he let the fresh air sober him up. Spears and arrows still embedded the walls of the barracks, the door hacked to pieces by the Ghanyian tribe. How they managed to hike their way so far south, through the desert and the savannah, he didn’t know, but he did not question either, for they were at his doorstep none-the-less. Just as he was planning to kill an undead, the savages ran upon Belvitz, attempting to kill him and the denizens of a tavern. Luckily, he slayed them, along with his militia, and expelled the rest of his allies from the township. After Norland, after Blackmarsh, he had expected the fights to diminish. That had not happened, and now he was in his stables once more, a bow on his back and armor on his torso, sword in his hand and horse underneath him. The Kingdom of Renatus stated its imperial ambitions, and an empire’s vassals are not to be trifled with, let alone by a band of savages. They came to Belvitz’ aid when the town bell rang, and they would come again to do what was right. Once more, Adrians went to war, but for the first time in their history, they would march north, through the deserts, the savannahs, all the way to Ghanyah, and burn the huts and occult totems to the ground. 8. Profit margins moved too low, now nobody will want to trade.
  9. The Greycloaks of Belvitz “For Coin and Country, Duke and Ducat” History Upon the creation of the Belvitz Merchant Company, and the ongoing conflict between Ivanovich kin, his Lordship, Duke of Adria, Lord of Belvitz and Patriarch of House Sarkozic, John Sarkozic, 1st of his name, ordered his Marshal, Royal Huntsman Vladan Valek, to create a guard force to secure Adria’s interests politically, martially, and economically. The result was the Greycloaks, designed to Protect Adria both on the streets of Belvitz and the roads of Atlas. Goals The Guard’s mission is to protect the interests of both the Belvitz Municipality and Merchant Company. As Belvitz obtains most of its riches from the luxurious caravan trade, a reliable military escort is to be drawn from the Guard’s reserves, and each involved member shall be compensated proportionally to the magnitude of their assistance. A life of the road often leads to an openness to new ideas, and this is no exception for the Belvitz Greycloaks. A secondary goal of the guard is to both collect, protect and inquire upon magic of unique artifacts found throughout Atlas, whether it be relics of past dynasties or flame spewing swords. Curators of sorts, their collection will grow along their wealth. Appearance: Taking the apparel of a traditional town guard when their conditions are similar, the average Guardsman wears a heavy cuirass, shoulderplates and gauntlets, with chainmail armor on their legs. However, when taking caravans, their apparel may differ. For less valuable and less cumbersome transports, light armor is often acceptable for horsebound guardsman. For the high value caravans, plate armor is often used, resembling that of a hedge knight due to their high financial boon allowing them to purchase above their class. COMMON GARB OF A FOOTMAN | COMMON GARB OF AN OFFICER Ranks Marshal: As the head of Adrian martial endeavors, the Marshal is capable of issuing any command to the guard on behalf of the Duke. No salary, but manages funds of Merchant Company along with Maer. Captain of the Guard De facto leader of the Guard; Under most situations he maintains complete control over the workings and routine with exceptions involving either the Duke of the Marshal. 200 Minas weekly salary. Lieutenant of the Guard A high ranking officer of the Guard, often the position of authority when the Grand Captain is not around. Wears Officer Garb. May lead caravans, receives pension. 200 Minas weekly salary. Sergeant at Arms Low ranking officer of the Guard, serves role of Drill Instructor and may lead men in conflict. Receives pension. 150 Minas weekly salary. Journeyman The standard rank of a man in the Guard. Permitted to attend caravan trips. Well versed in combat. Receives no pension. 100 Minas weekly salary. Recruit The lowest rank in the Guard. Referred to as “Llama feeders,” they are to be tasked with the more demeaning tasks the Guard have until proven in battle. Once they are, with sufficient reasoning, a Sergeant or an officer of higher ranking may promote him to Journeyman. 50 Minas weekly salary. Caravans The most effective source of income for the Greycloaks, however, are the caravans. Indeed, countless resources come to Belvitz from the trade of potions, and Guards are granted a commission of 5% of the income to a caravan trip. Meaning, if the income is to be 2500 minas, the income of a single guard would be 125 minas. Whoever is running the Caravan is bound to give 30% of the income to the Company, and is free to hold the rest, given that his men are paid. Beliefs The Greycloaks believe in cultivating the city of Belvitz and its inhabitants, including its own guard, into become very wealthy and happy. Where other guards are guided by morality, Belvitz guards are guided by coin, coin for all, that is. When money is to be made, people to be seen, the Greycloaks can be found. 10. "She has the personality of a golem... our Duke deserves better," says Vladan to himself.
  11. Out from the wall, the Fire Spirits come forth to wreak havoc upon all of Atlas once more.
  12. The Moor sits down at a table in an inconspicuous tavern, laughing his arse off. "You had multiple chances to show humility, and you failed to do so. Prepare to be squashed like a bug."
  13. Problem now is that lips on walls prevent ladders from being useful in any way.
  14. Best decision I've ever seen the staff make.
  15. I hate to be the one who rains on the parade, but those numbers are kinda fudged. We all know that the quality of an accepted application has drastically gone down in comparison to even a year ago, with literally almost no non-guest applications denied. Yes, the number of accepted applications have increased, but that's because what is considered an accepted application has been made to be much broader than it has before. Not to mention the player retention rate currently isn't exactly being mentioned. Instead of covering up the problem, perhaps there are better ways to address it.
  16. Biggest problem was that it was on Easter... would've been good otherwise.
  17. A newly converted Ghoul walks towards wherever these rumors may lead.
  18. When Timot of Ponce arrived, the crossroads were stained with blood. He had lifted up the bottom of his tunic, preventing the blood from staining his clothes, as he stepped over the decapitated body of a monk. The half severed head of a cultist mage was next, and the two corpses of undead creatures as well. The men and women around the crossroads were adorned with wounds, an orc with the flesh of his body bitten off, another blinded by illusionary magic, and some stabbed through by the Morghuul’s longsword. He watched the twenty or so men smile and joke in spite of the gore and the wounds on their bodies. This does not bode well, he thought to himself. This was not the first open conflict on the roads between mages and men, and the increasingly prevalent undead were causing quite the terror at crossroads such as that peculiar one by Veris. However, this was the first time that he had seen such a mass of men assemble in this new land to expunge the mages and creatures, and perhaps, he thought to himself, a return to older times. Those wandering on the roads would soon return back to their cities, their populaces consolidated to find strength in numbers against the cretins of the outside. It would not be long, he thought to himself, until those abominations and sorcerers would be put to the blade--or, should he say, twenty blades.
