There are both ceremonial and administrative positions within Chambery’s government, the former which are handed out to close friends and servants of House VonSchlichten and the latter of which are assigned to individuals who have proven themselves competent in handling the appropriate administrative tasks. The Viscount of Chambery, of course, is the leader of Chambery's local government. However, he has set in place a number of governmental offices and branches for Chambery to better manage his feudal lands. The Mayor of Chambery The Mayor of Chambery is an elected position for which the citizens vote every Elven Month. Every man and woman aged 16 or older is able to cast 1 vote during mayoral elections, but they may only choose to vote for candidates officially nominated by the Viscount who choose to run for the office. This is to prevent incompetent candidates from coming to power, and allow House VonSchlichten to have a say in the appointment of the Mayor. The mayor is granted a special fur coat, badge, and chain of office to distinguish his standing in the town. Current Mayor: ELECTIONS STILL TO BE HAD The Stewards’ Office The Stewards’ Office of Chambery is an institution of appointed stewards, which are charged with the selling of property and the collection of business tithes on behalf of House VonSchlichten. The Mayor of Chambery heads the Stewards’ Office, although stewards may appeal directly to the Viscount in some cases, or in the absence of a Mayor. However, he maintains a special distinction in Chambery as the chosen leader of the town’s easterner population, and functions semi-autonomously from the central government. With Chambery's rather large Easterner refugee population, the creation of such an autonomous steward was deemed necessary by the Viscount. He is the liaison to the Viscount, and represents the easterners’ needs and wants within Chambery. The Eastern Ward of Chambery - Tōku 東区 Current Daiymo: Ezo Karasuga ((Ezo_)) The Chambery Marine Corps The Chambery Marine Corps is a mostly autonomous branch of the military of Lorraine, geared primarily toward fighting on the high seas and engaging in ranged combat on land. The Commandant of the Marine Corps holds the rank of Captain within the Honorguard, and is typically appointed by the Viscount himself. Below him, a Lieutenant is chosen by the Commandant from the Marine Corps to assist him and act in his stead when need be. During times of peace, the marines also function as Chambery’s guard and law enforcement force (outside of the Eastern District). Current Commandant: Ezo Karasuga ((Ezo_)) Current Lieutenant: NOT APPOINTED Ceremonial and Semi-Honorary Titles Keeper of Lights: The title of “Keeper of Lights” is bestowed upon a valued citizen of the community, who has performed great civil feats and tasks for the Viscounty and the town. They are charged with the ceremonial task of lighting and putting out the lights of Chambery’s streetlamps every morning and evening, considered to be a great honor within the Viscounty. Holder: Taliah Sintel ((Potts24)) Herald of Chambery: The Herald of Chambery is a servant of the Viscount who cries out announcements and advertisements near the Fountain of Mandru. S/he is tasked with keeping the citizens up to date regarding important information from week to week. Holder: Joseph de Normed ((NPC)) Custodian of the Viscount: The personal bodyguard of the Viscount, usually a veteran marine recommended by the Commandant and chosen specially by the Viscount. The Custodian is also charged with teaching the Viscount’s sons how to fight and defend themselves. Holder: NOT HELD Liege of the Viscount: The liege(s) of the Viscount of Chambery automatically holds this title, representing their status within Chambery as the lord of the citizens’ lord. They are given the right to perform honorary duties and ceremonies within the town and the Viscounty at their liesure. He has proved himself in battle time and time again in the eyes of his comrades and of his lord, and is the de-facto champion of the Viscount and of House VonSchlichten during knightly tournaments. Holder: NOT HELD Court Chaplain: The Court Chaplain is the head of the Church in Chambery, and leads weddings, baptisms, sermons, and other religious ceremonies within the Viscounty. Then search no further.” Chambery is a multicultural town within the Archduchy of Lorraine, the feudal holding of House VonSchlichten within the Viscounty of the same name. It is made up primarily of Lotharginians, Easterners, Waldenians, and even elves. Here, we embrace three things: Opportunity, Community, and the Future. THE FEDERATION OF OCEANIA Oceania, with the permission of the Korean government, dispatches 10,000 Federal troops to what was formerly North Korea to aid in peacekeeping during the country's integration and reconstruction into the South Korean state. Australian and New Zealander markets also heavily invest in the rebuilding, re-education, and modernization of North Korea, and offer to allow the South Koreans a low interest loan to help cover the monetary cost of reuniting and rebuilding their country. Humanitarian aid is also sent to North Korea, including tens of thousands of pounds of food, water, and various articles of clothing. Religious organizations from the Oceanic states, mainly Christian, also begin to flood North Korea in hopes of healing the decrepid soul as well as the body. The Federation of Oceania The talks with the other Oceanic nations had gone well. Very well. In fact, the meeting had turned out to be an overwhelming success for Australia. Out of a need for closer diplomatic, economic, and military ties, the nations of Oceania had convinced in Perth to discuss the formation of a Federation of Pacific States lead by Australia. And so out of these talks, The Federation of Oceania was formed by the nations of Oceania, a federal collection of nations to be lead by Australia. To share a common Federal Army, Navy, and currency, the Federal Riyal, and to promote closer political ties between the nations of Oceania. These nations included The Marshal Islands, Kiribati, Tuvalu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia, Nauru, and of course Australia's long-time ally and sister, New Zealand. Almost immediately following the signing of the Federation's charter, Fiji, Samoa, Palau, and East Timor applied for membership in the new Federation, and were accepted almost on the spot. The Prime Minister of Australia was to serve as the Chancellor of the new Federation, Chairman of the Council of Leaders. The two positions were to be tied together, as Australia was and would remain the indisputably dominant nation in the Federation. The Federation would have a legislature consisting of a House of Commons and a Senate, much like the Australian system of governance, but it's heads of state would make up the executive council, lead of course by the Chancellor, who had the final say in federal actions. It's headquarters would be located in Sydney, Australia. All previous deals other nations have made with Australia are to be carried over into the new Federation, and are to be considered valid still. ----------------- The Federal Riyal, as a stipulation of New Zealand's entrance into the organization, had been devaluated in a controlled manner, in hopes of promoting more exports from Oceania to other parts of the globe. And the plan had been a success. Although the Riyal had taken a dip on the global market, it soon took a sharp increase in value as exports from Oceania began to increase, bringing prosperity to it's member nations. The intervention in Brazil had been canceled, the Australian task force returning to it's home port. Resettlement goes well in the Northern Outback, the islander towns thriving due to the economic boom that's come to the Federation. Work begins on the creation of a federal military. Each country would be responsible for raising their own armies and soldiers, but they would all be part of the federal system, and would share a common hierarchy and ranking system with the Federation. With the new member states, the Chancellor of the Oceanic Federation sets a goal to recruit a further 180,000 men to the Federal Army from across the Federation over the next 2 years, defense still remaining Abbott's top priority. Europe's diplomats are received warmly, and the Federation's Executive Council prepares to meet with their representatives. Alenia nods to Cren, sliding the now unlocked shackles off of her arms. "Be careful... I'll s-stay with the big guy!" She looks over to Rocky. "My name's Alenia," she nods to him, unlocking his own shackles. "I'm going to need your help to search for this place's back door; we need to find it, and soon, or we're all dead!" Soon after letting the shackles drop to the floor, she dashes off at a very quick pace. "Follow me!" she cries back to Rocky, sword in hand. She searches for the before mentioned backdoor, for some sort of exit or escape from the prison. Even a sewer hatch would do, as she searches for something, anything that could help them with her observant eyes.

The Commonwealth of Australia Australia announces publicly the signing of a series of pacts with Indonesia, it's longtime rival! These pacts include promises of mutual research agreements, a military alliance, and free trade! Seeing that the states of Oceania are receptive to the idea of a union, Australia calls for a summit between the Oceanic states to be held in Perth. ((TO INTERACT WITH MOD)) The pleads from the pacific islanders are heard, and are answered. Australia would allow these islanders to create their own settlements in the Northern Outback, and would even provide financial, shipping, and medical aid to allow for them to do so. Various religious institutions from Australia would also attempt to aid in the cause of resettlement as well. However, Australia's one stipulation to this is that these peoples would have to identify as Australian themselves, adopt Australian citizenship, and prove to be productive members of society. ---------- The task force is still at the ready, waiting for Argentina's response to calls for a peaceful summit between they, Indonesia, and Brazil. Training continues. Meanwhile, the new recruits are scheduled to be physically trained, and be put through rigorous periods of bootcamp. Although the cost might be great, no cost is too great for Australia's defense and that of it's neighbors, or so the government declares. Australia plans to cover the cost of both the training, and the research programs, through a series of mining ventures in the most mineral-rich parts of the country, and in lucrative investments made in Brazil [@Draeris] as a member of M.A.P.

Alenia nods as though to say "you're welcome" to Cren as she slays the skeleton. She holds out her hands to be unlocked, after Cren. "We need to find a back door or gate or passage or something! There has to be one, prisons are typically built with some sort of auxillary supply entrance or sewage system!" She gazes in the opposite direction of the main gate, attempting to discern if there's anything resembling a back or side door in proximity to them.

The Commonwealth of Australia With a new decade on the Horizon, Australia's future had never looked brighter... Well, at least, to an extent. Australia had gone through almost 4 prime ministers in the last 2 years, all which had been unable to create a truly stable governing in Parliament. The Coalition and the Labor party had engaged in a brutal battle to gain a majority the Australian parliament, but eventually, the Coalition had won it's victory, and it was a landslide, at that. And Tony Abbott had, once again, become Prime Minister. He was very conservative in terms of social policy, something typically frowned down upon in 2017. He was a notorious supporter of the Australian monarchy, and a devout Catholic; he had originally resigned two years earlier due to a scandal in which he submitted an important bill to Parliament twice, upon both instances it had failed. But Australia had spoken, it seemed. They were tired of change, tired of watching the other pacific nations expand at almost twice their rate of growth. Tired of China buying up swaths of farmland that should belong to Australians, tired of the economic heart attack that the stock market had suffered when Britain left the European Union (A good thing in the long wrong, but for the moment, a bad action that had seemingly affected the entire world). ------------------ The first thing on the new Prime Minister's agenda was to reinstate royal knightly titles for Australian civilians. A bloody useless and worthless mater, he thought to himself, but one our heritage is entwined with closely. After consulting with his ministers, some spouting off statements of support and others screaming furious, outraged objections, he sends a formal letter to Queen Elizabeth of the United Kingdom, requesting that, once again, she reinstate knightly titles in the Order of Australia. [@stigwig.] The next action taken by Abbott was to begin negotiating with Parliament and the individual Australian states to loosen Australian anti-gun laws to allow citizens to own personal firearms such as revolvers, automatic pistols, pump-action shotguns, and the likes, although the ownership of assault and sniper rifles will still be heavily restricted for the time being, by special government permit only. Though of course there was much objection from the Labour Party as to the Coalition's movement towards decriminalizing the ownership of civilian firearms, the landslide Coalition majority government managed to procure the deals with the state governments necessary. ------------------ With these two matters out of the way, it was time to get down to serious business at the center of Australian government. The United Kingdom's requests for free trading rights and their under-the-table request for the leasing of several naval bases along the west coast are accepted with open arms, the new sympathetic, monarchist government wishing to keep closer ties to the motherland. Australia would express an interest in forming the foundations of a Federal Union with New Zealand, due to their close cultural, historical, and economic ties, in the interest of defense and economic ease. Missives are also sent out to Tuvalu, Nauru, and Kiribati, all independent Pacific island nations that use the Australian dollar, in hopes of forming a closer economic partnership, as well as a political one, with these nations. He's even further dismayed to hear of Argentina's provocation of a South American War [@Draeris]. In the meantime, the Prime Minister of Australia releases a general statement: "This is outrageous! A naval task force is mobilized in Sydney's harbor, as is a contingent of 20,000 well-trained Australian troops. They prepare to set sail for South America at a moment's notice, taking the time to train, engage in war games, and lay out battle plans against Argentina. At the same time, the Australian government stands beside Indonesia in calling a summit between Argentina, Brazil, and the two of their nations. ----- As Prime Minister Abbott looked over Australia's military statistics, he sighed. A massive recruitment campaign begins, using television commercials, youtube adds, and social media to drive the campaign forward, using the excuse of possible foreign threats and the South American War to attempt to rally young Australian men and women to the cause. ((@_POK_)) The government issues massive grants to the various corporations and universities within Australia, going all out in doing so, and research begins on a new type of aircraft carrier, to be known as the "James Cook Class Supercarrier", which is to be armed with a new air superiority fighter being developed, the "Kangaroo". ((8 and 7 pages respectively)) An armored infantry vehicle, the "Interceptor", is also in the process of being developed, based around American Humvee designs, but several tweaks and improved design features are planned for it as well, such as the ability to be automated and lead by GPS, and the addition of improved armor and bullet proof glass into it's design. Although Australia covers a huge, expansive landmass, and in fact is the only nation on Earth to occupy an entire continent, most of it's land is arid and undesirable. It is it's coastal regions where most of the Australian population live. Australia also has an amazing selection of wildlife, and has in recent years taken a visible role in the international community. Recent politics in Australia have been shakey at best, five Prime Ministers succeeding each other within the last year alone. Gun ownership in Australia is also severely restricted. Alenia would nimbly lunge forth in an attempt to come to Cren's aid, seeing that his spear is hardly a weapon to be used against skeletal creatures. She tries despirately to remember what her father had taught her as a young girl about self defense... She attempts to slash out with her sword in much the same manner as Sayadar, aiming for the spine of the skeleton, hoping to sever its upper from its lower half. However, she does so in a diagonal manner from its waist to its shoulders, in hopes that her adrenaline will add to the weight of her blade and do more damage to the creature. If her attack were to fail, she'd likely stumble backwards to regather her footing. Either way, she'd reply, "I a-agree!" She replies to Cren, preparing to advance with him if he so chooses after the outcome of their attack. "Let's s-stay together!" She addresses both Cren and Rocky. To Sayadar, as she sees him making a mad dash for the warden's body, she cries out, "Get the w-warden's k-keychain! Once we get these shackles off, w-we can make a dash for the g-gates!"

Praize Pok!! I may be interested if you choose to start up a new Nations FRP; depends what the premise is and how it's going to be operated. And of course what nations are available to be played and how much time I can spare. But consider my answer to be "yes".
