  1. The battle was won, but from outside the collapsed battlements of Barrowyk a new sound made itself known - the keening wails and mournful cries of the wounded and infirm following the vicious combat. Adrian de Bar sat in the muddy ground between two tents, a crude bandage wrapped around his head. One of the dissenters had scored a blow upon the nobleman during the final, frantic melee, though his helm had spared him from an untimely fate. However, as the wounded lord watched carts of lifeless and bloodied bodies parade through the camp, he could not help but feel a pang of sorrow. The battle was won with the blood of countless Savoyards, and the hard-won victory had claimed the lives of many of his countrymen. As one such cart passed, however, de Bar's eyes widened as he sighted a shock of auburn hair upon the muddied head of a corpse. Despite numerous wounds, the golden Lorraine embroidered into the tabard clinging to the commander's body had been untarnished. Adrian staggered away with a slackened jaw, suddenly awash with regret. An unforgiving death had befallen his comrade and friend Charles, but Adrian did not tarry with guilt for long. It is not his final moments that make a man's life whole, the grizzled veteran thought to himself as he watched Fournier's corpse unceremoniously tumble from the cart amidst several others, atop a crude mound of bodies. It is the life that man has lived.

  8. Minecraft name(s): NiceGuyNorman Skype ID: u already got it Time zone: UTC - 3:30 Have you ever been banned or received a strike? If so, link the report: No. Do you hold / have you held any other staff positions? I have not. What MMORPG/video games have you / do you play? (Past and Present): I have logged quite a few hours on Mount and Blade: Warband and Crusader Kings II, Total War: Rome II and ATTILA, as well as CS:GO. What are your characters? Are you willing to sacrifice any to become a Event member? My primary character is Adrian de Bar, a Savoyard nobleman, though I also play Sascha de Saltpans, a character I have been developing for some time now. If satisfactory roleplay is provided, I would consent to PKing either of these characters, due to my belief in a dynamic experience on this server. What race / group do you think your events would best cater to? If none in particular, give an example of the type of group that your events would entertain. I am very well-versed in human roleplay, and I believe that if I were to be an ET member I would be best suited to making events for the human player base. However, I am knowledgeable in lore for other races, and would do events for all if and where possible. What do you believe are key factors for a successful event? The main draw for an event would be the players’ enjoyment and sustaining a dynamic roleplay experience while also putting forth the effort to prepare a cohesive narrative. Organization is key, but so is being open-minded and letting the roleplay run its course fluidly, whichever way the current flows! When was the last time you saw a event? Recently, having witnessed Byzabro and Altiak’s boar hunt event. What strengths could you contribute to the Event Team? Are you knowledgeable in lore or great at organizing? As aforementioned, I have deeply indulged in the lore of this server, and fancy myself a decent organizer as well, having been in a multitude of leadership roles. I am a people-person, and I enjoy interaction with others OOCly and ICly. Therefore, I feel I can run an event successfully, and also coordinate with other Event Team members or participants to ensure an enjoyable experience is provided. Why do you want to be part of the ET? To provide enjoyable events that further player's individual enjoyment and character development. Create three distinct RP scenarios/events based on LOTC lore that you would organize. These are pitches to the Managers and Ouity, not to the community. Note: Not all of the group must be handled at once. Eg: 20+ people via 5 person increments in a dungeon. 1) For 1-3 person : A travelling minstrel approaches a lone figure or two; offering them the chance to partake in a newly produced play with him. He leads these newly recruited away to a small overgrown amphitheatre where he trains them - having them rehearse in the various lines of the piece. After he has sufficiently rehearsed with the few enough he sets out to garner an audience at a roadside tavern, thus extending the event to include not only the few selected to enjoy. They would then proceed to perform the piece to whomever ever they could find to serve as an audience; revelling in the dramatics and theatre. By the of this event not only do a few people get enjoyment from it but it spreads to grant character development and allow interaction with more when they perform. 2) For a group of 5-10: A group of wearied travellers are travelling upon the roads when they are halted by a lone figure with an arbalest strapped over his shoulder, his palm outstretched in greeting. As they stop he insists on having knowledge of a small treasure trove nearby, but needs help unearthing it, should the party accompany him he quickly leads them off. After a number of wrong turns and other errors of direction they are travelling upon a wooded path. Suddenly halting the lead man turns and gives them a sickly grin, performing a slight whistle. Within a moment a pair of men have emerged from the dense undergrowth to stand by his side and a number of others can be spotted crouching with weapons prepared under cover. The players are then faced with the choice to either hand over their valuables and leave, or attempt to fight back to retain their hard-earned items. 3) For a group of 20+: A wizened astrologer is hired to serve in the court of a noble lord, where he is patronized by his liege. After a multitude of days locked away in solitude, he requests an audience with his master. Before a public audience, he warns of an impending doom made clear to him by an omen sighted in the night sky. As the days drag on, an increasing sense of paranoia looms over the town, each townsman forecasting his own version of the disaster to strike. During this time, the court astrologer disappears. Following this period of apprehension, the town becomes riddled with plague, the only probable source being the sewers from which crawled disease-stricken peasants, vermin, or the no longer recognizable. Headcloths are distributed to grant momentary relief, a stratagem akin to one employed during the days of the Abresian plague. Despite this, the illness continues to fester, and the peasantry become emboldened by the words of an outspoken rioter, who urges his fellow townsfolk to venture into the depths of the sewer alongside him. Once enough support is garnered, this revolutionary, of sorts, would lead his followers into the epicenter of plague and expose them to a variety of dangers that would threaten their lives. A PVE event would emerge followed by a final climactic battle with a giant rat, whose identity is divulged along complete with a maniacal cackle! He reveals himself to a lunatic and necromance once under the guise of a court astrologer! Though this sort of structure is how the event is to ideally be ran, I would happily leave it to progress dynamically as that is the sort of roleplay I endorse! How long do you plan to stay in the ET?: I wish to remain in the event team for as long as I can contribute to it. Tell me a joke: (´◉◞౪◟◉) pbbbbbltttbit

  10. Adrian de Bar wrings his gloved hands from amid the parading crowd, smirking in satisfaction at his cousin's coronation before receding into the mass of people.
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LgidnD8Tpg0 Adrian de Bar casts his gaze out to the water following the short assault, watching as the bombed and flaming remnants of the Dwarven ships slip under the waves. He removes his battered helm and places it under the crook of his arm, the fires atop the water glowing in his eyes amidst shouts of "The Grand King is dead!" Remaining silent as he looks out to the corpses and burning driftwood bobbing in the bloodied waters, he lowers his head and mutters quietly, fiddling with his rosaries. Adrian solemnly turns away from the celebrations of his victorious countrymen without another word, and strides away from the wreckage.

  13. Adrian de Bar sits in his quarters, mulling over an assortment of battle plans on the small council's table, scowling deeply in concentration. Looking up from his work at a knock on his door, the young lord watches with a furrowed brow as a timid servant presents himself at the foot of the chamber. Inquiring with scathing sarcasm the reason for the steward's interruption, Adrian pauses for a moment in bewilderment at the somber and unexpected news his visitor replies with. Opening his mouth to speak, but finding himself baffled, the stoic nobleman dismisses the courtier with a wave of his hand, leaving him alone in his quarters. Leaning forward in his seat and resting his cheek on his fist, Adrian de Bar sits morose and slack-jawed for a long time as he reflects on his cameraderie with Stanimir, a man he respected greatly.

  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LX1mCaX7Qk From the bleak fortress of Woldzimir, a trio of distinct specks could be seen encroaching rapidly from the horizon, across the icy seas on the eastern coasts of Asulon. Persevering over the choppy, frigid waters, the three ships chugged through floes of ice with ease, the cold winds carrying them towards the Vladov holding before them. The ballistae mounted upon Woldzimir’s walls turn to assess these newcomers, and bannermen line their defenses with arbalests in hand, prepared for a naval attack. The flagship leading the small flotilla would be visible as it neared Woldzimir, its sails boasting the liveries of House Ashford, and a coat of arms - recognized as that of Guy de Bar’s, to the more perceptive onlookers. Standing on the deck of the leading warship, amongst the clamor of sailors and soldiers bustling around, two Savoyards stand resolutely as they watch the peaks of the mountainous keep grow larger and less distant. Adrian and Guy de Bar, clad in thick fur cloaks and steel plate mail to assuage the freezing winds of the eastern peninsula, exchange an ambivalent glance as they near the rocky coastline. The three carracks lay anchor out at sea, Saint Amyas order-men working hastily to haul up the sails from aboard the ships. From the moored Ashford flagship, a small landing craft is lowered into the frigid waters; two figures visibly upright at the helm of the small dinghy as it is rowed ashore by a small procession. A perplexed Stanimir Vladov and a detachment of his guard greet the Savoyards as they set foot on land. “Lord de Bar, you did not send word that you were coming,” the Vladovic lord inquires, only for Guy to scoff sardonically. “It is not words that we Ashfords deal in, Lord Stanimir, but deeds.” “Lord Vladov, we have assembled our armada as auxiliary for your planned naval assault,” Adrian says to Stanimir. “Let us speak inside; as your newfound allies, our family’s argosy will support you.” With the noblemen proceeding into the keep, it would appear that the Vladovs have acquired a valuable ally in the upcoming conflict ...
