After reading over the notice Dizzy shakes his head sadly. An official reply is sent to both the king, and hung around the kingdom underneath the kings notices.
“And what kind of dwarf would I be to accept an offer as such? The matters of my “Crimes” are of no concern to me. For should protecting the sacred arts be a crime, then I am a villain most foul.”
“It pains me to say these words, for there are not ones to which I would like to speak about a king with…. but it must be done”
“ I do not spit words of venom forth at the head crowned in order to overturn my own supposed crimes. Nay, rather I speak the truth, the thoughts of dwarves who live and work in fear of the oppression wrought by such a powerful regime. You claim that the law of Lese Majeste has never been used, but to what end is that? For if you should have condemned someone as such, they could very well have never been heard from again! The very fact that you would demand such an article be present in the first place is a insult to the honor of all dwarves. And it is not the only thing. One needs only look through the decrees and laws put forwards by the king and gaze upon the myriad of corruptions within. Observe one such corruption”
ARTICLE II
competencies and succession of the Crown of Urguan
9: The authority to enact and maintain a system of criteria used to judge and record the prestige of the official Clans of the Grand Kingdom
“What does this matter you ask? ‘This is where it gets interesting’ I reply.
ARTICLE VI
The rights and Clans and Dwarves
2: The right to claim and operate a clan hall of reasonable size and value proportionate to the prestige and history of the clan
“Wait, what was that? The king has sole power to create the very system which dictates the rights and claims of clans to their own clan halls you say? And that none others may have input on the matter? By the Brathmordakin, your right! ‘How do we know it cannot be warped in favour of certain clans’ I hear you cry. It is quite simple my friend...”
“We cannot.”
“That is not all, observe yet another ‘Grand Authority’ of the King”

5: The authority to unilaterally pardon any person convicted or sentenced by the Courts.
“My my, that is a doozy that one, isn’t it? Yes, that is correct, the king has the power to overturn a court ruling on his own. Makes you wonder why he would even have a court when he can just keep at it until he has an outcome he likes. Convicted and have to pay a 500 mina fine to the kingdom? No big deal pal, cut a deal with the Grand King of course! 400 mina right to his PERSONAL pocket, and your off the hook! No criminal record, and your saving 100 mina. A steal of a deal there.”
“I can hear it now ‘But your wrong, Dizzy, you’ve gone stark! The Thanes council is made to avoid that from happening!’ Ah but of course, how foolish of me. Of course they will prevent anything like that from happening.”
“For a day”
“Observe once more friends”

competencies and succession of the Crown of Urguan
Final note: THESE AUTHORITIES, in order to ensure an opportunity for the Clan Council to prevent their usage, shall when exercised not enter into official enforcement until after a period not less than one stone day from their proclamation.
ARTICLE III
Competencies and composition of the Clan Council
Second section of their powers: FURTHERMORE, the Clan Council is vested with the following auhtorities to be utilized with a ⅘ majority for the good of the dwarven people:
2: The authority to prevent the use of any of the royal authorities as enumerated in Article II in the intervening period of one stone day between their proclamation and actual enforcement.
“Don’t you see now? It says it clearly, the thanes have but only an OPPORTUNITY, to stop the King. But a small glimmer, the briefest of windows, left open to breath the fresh air… only to be slammed shut by the harsh reality of things. And to need 4/5th's vote for that? My word! Some thanes may even be gone for longer then a stone day. What happens if the king wishes to order the pardon of the one who murdered your family because of a bribe, and the thanes are away in combat against some great menace? Or perhaps they have fallen ill, and were unable to present themselves at all!”
“And how do we know our Grand King will not continue to live up to his clan name!? Great was his Ire as he struck down not only a dwarf, but one of his own clansmen. And we are to sit idle and accept these sugar coated words and release him of guilt? Any other to commit this crime and they would have been exiled. Even now he proposes changes to his articles to draw attention from his heinous deeds.
“I could go on for a long time outlining the tyranny in these pages, but I will not. Instead I implore you not as citizens of Urguan, but as free dwarves… look, learn, and listen. Do not follow blindly the shepherd who leads you as his sheep. Do not blindly follow the one who promises only good, for there is no such thing. Make your own decisions, see the world for what it truly is.”
“And know, Midgor Ireheart, that I cannot accept these terms so readily. For those who bathe in the blood and fear of others, cannot come off clean so easily”
