  7. I, Maximilien Alexander d’Anpalais, grandson of the late knight Sir Emilio “The Gallant” d’Anpalais, humbly come to you today to offer my deepest and most sincere apologies on behalf of my family for the treachery and betrayal committed by my great aunt, Livia d’Anpalais, against the Crown and the Commonwealth. I understand the gravity of her actions and the repercussions they have caused, tarnishing the name and reputation of the d’Anpalais family. It is with profound regret that I acknowledge the pain her part in the rebellion has inflicted upon the stability and harmony of our beloved Commonwealth. As a descendant of Sir Emilio, a man who stood for honor and loyalty, a man who died defending Archduke Paul Salvian, I am aware of the responsibility to uphold the principles and values he held dear. Livia’s actions were not only an affront to the crown but also a violation of trust and allegiance that we, as noble subjects, owe to our sovereign. I assure you that her actions were driven solely by her own misguided beliefs and personal ambitions, and they did not reflect the sentiments or intentions of my grandsire, or our family as a whole. Since the days of the Empire, my lineage has long been bound to the service of their liege and it pains me deeply to now witness the stain that Livia has left upon my family’s honor. I hereby express my commitment, both as an individual and as representative of House d’Anpalais, to distance us from Livia’s treasonous acts. I pledge my unwavering loyalty and allegiance to the Crown, vowing to uphold the laws and constitution that govern the Commonwealth. I understand that trust must be earned and I am prepared to demonstrate through my unwavering devotion and actions that the loyalty of House d’Anpalais lies solely with the prosperity and well-being of our great nation. May this apology serve as a testament to the fact that the actions of one individual should not define an entire lineage, and that House d’aAnpalais, through its continued service and loyalty, seeks to restore the trust and faith once bestowed upon us by the Crown and the people of the Commonwealth of the Petra. Petra, Flowing Water! Ave! Ave! Signed,
  8. Extracts from the journal of Zephyrian Location: The jungles south of the Commonwealth 9th of The Grand Harvest, 1930 Oh, dear reader, the mysteries of this world continue to unfold before my very eyes, revealing wonders that surpass the limits of my imagination. It is with great excitement that I pen these words, recounting the journey that President Elizabeth Brae, Nicolas Wittenbach and I embarked upon into the uncharted depths of the southern jungles. Led by the society’s own Belyn, we ventured deep into the verdant and humid embrace of the jungle, its foliage thick and teeming with life. A sense of anticipation filled the air as we left the comforts of civilization behind and forged ahead into the unknown. Our leaky dinghy carried us through the familiar Petran rivers into unknown tributaries, each stroke of our oar taking us deeper into an untamed realm. We were led to the base of a mountain that rose like the walls of a citadel, guarding secrets untold. With determined resolve, we began our ascent. The rugged terrain tested our climbing gear as we navigated treacherous slopes and tangled vegetation. The persistent chirping of exotic birds in the distance and the calls of unknown creatures that echoed above us only added to our sense of adventure. Upon reaching a sprawling plateau covered in an emerald sea of foliage, we carried on deeper into the darkness of the forest. Soon enough, we stumbled upon a sight that filled us with dread and intrigue. Before us stood a structure, weathered by time and reclaimed by nature but still retaining an air of grandeur. It was a marvel of pre-contact craftsmanship—a fort-like complex, complete with shrines, cauldrons, intricately designed rooms. Oh the tales this place must hold, of ancient rituals and the spirits that once graced these hallowed grounds! With great reverence, we explored the nooks and crannies of this structure, each step unraveling the mysteries of the ancients. The walls whispered untold stories, as if the very stones were imbued with the echoes of a civilizations lost to time. It was a humbling experience, a window into a world that existed long before our footprints. Eager to uncover more, we pressed on. We ventured eastward through the dense jungle, hacking through vegetation and pushing the boundaries of our endurance. And then, a sight so astonishing it stole the very breath from our lungs—an oasis nestled within the bosom of the wilderness. Before us stretched a lake of crystalline water, so clear that one could see the depths that were decorated with a plethora of rainbow-colored fish. It shimmered like liquid sapphire, captivating our senses with its ethereal beauty. But what truly captivated our attention was the magnificent structure that rose from the lake’s heart—a stacked pyramid, adorned with intricate carvings, its peak crowned by a square building. Driven by curiosity, we waded into the refreshing waters, our clothes clinging to our skin both from the lake but also from the humid air that hung above it. Step by step, we ascended its weathered steps, each one a testament to the grandeur and architectural prowess of its builders. The summit, alas, reminds beyond our reach, for the doors to the square building were firmly closed, guarding their secrets with unwavering resolve. As I stood there, gazing upon the jungle that surrounded us, my mind swirled with questions. How did the pre-contact people construct such a colossal structure? What purpose did it serve, and what knowledge lay hidden within its chambers? The ingenuity and artistry displayed before me were a testament to the untapped potential of descendants, a reminder that our history is interwoven with countless marbles waiting to be discovered. With a mix of admiration and lingering curiosity, we descended the steps, our minds forever imprinted with the memory of the pyramid’s awe-inspiring presence. The journey back to the Commonwealth would be accompanied by the thoughts of the pre-contact people, their lives within this untamed land, and the mysteries that awaited future explorers. May these words, dear reader, ignite within you a passion for exploration, and may your own journeys unveil the secrets that lie dormant, awaiting your intrepid spirit. NGS Explorer
  9. A drafted letter is found alongside another, unopened, sealed and unsent. My Dearest Dame Catherine, I hope this letter finds you in good health. It is with a heavy heart that I put pen to paper, for the purpose of expressing a matter of utmost importance. I find myself in a conflict of duty, tradition, and personal desires, and it's a dilemma that weighs heavily upon my conscience. I must begin by confessing that the engagement arranged for me, the union to which I was bound by societal expectations is one that I can not accept any longer. As much as it pains me to admit, my heart yearns for another, and I am bound to her by an unbreakable bond of love and affection. You see, my dearest Catherine, since we last spoke, I have met a woman who has captured my soul in a way that I thought was reserved only for poets and dreamers. Her name is Isabella, a vision of elegance and beauty whose spirit and intellect have bewitched me beyond measure. In her arms, I have found a love that transcends the boundaries of social obligation. Moreover, my dear friend, I must confess that Isabella and I have been blessed with a child, a beautiful son we have named Alexander. He is the embodiment of our love, a radiant soul who fills our lives with joy and purpose. I cannot in good conscience proceed with a betrothal to another while knowing that I have a family of my own, one that deserves my utmost devotion and commitment. With a heavy heart, I have taken the liberty of penning a letter to our esteemed Archduke Paul, imploring him to legitimize Alexander as my rightful heir, I humbly request your assistance in this matter, dear Catherine, as your wisdom and influence may prove invaluable in securing a favorable outcome. Know that it is not without a profound sense of regret for which I write. I understand the gravity of the situation and the repercussions it may bring upon my family and the reputation of the commonwealth. But I beg you to consider the happiness and well-being of an innocent child, one who deserves to stand proudly as my son and legitimate heir. Please forgive me, Catherine for any pain or disappointment my actions may cause you. It is not my intention to bring harm or sadness into your life, but rather to honor the sacred bonds of love and fatherhood that have been bestowed upon me. I hope in time you will find it in your heart to understand and perhaps even support the choices I have made. With profound regret and sincerest of wishes, Sir Emilio d’Anpalais. 16th of Sun’s Smile, 1893 Along with the unfinished letter, came another in an unopened envelope sealed with the official seal of House d'Anpalais.

  13. Northern Geographical Society Survey On the Path of Regulus Mane Extracts from the journals of Zephyrian 8th - 9th of Malin's Welcome, 1928 Oh, what fortuitous circumstances have befallen me, dear reader! Fate, in her whimsical dance, has conspired to bring together a group of remarkable individuals in pursuit of a legendary figure—Regulus Mane, the first man known to have explored the untamed wilderness of Aevos. Allow me to recount the extraordinary events that have unfolded in recent days. At the gates of the bustling Haeseni capital, I found myself in the esteemed company of our beloved president Elizabeth Brae, Draerine and her scion Amae, Nicolas, and a formidable armored woman whose name I have yet to discover. Bound by a shared thirst for knowledge and yearning for adventure, we resolved to embark on a quest to seek out the home of this revered explorer, wherever it may lie. Our journey commenced by following the course of a meandering river that wound its way north, like a silver serpent guiding us through the snowy landscape. The air crackled with anticipation, for we knew not what lay ahead, but our hearts were inspired by a sense of camaraderie and purpose. As we traveled, the landscape transformed around us, giving way to an inland sea that shimmered like a precious gem beneath the ever-watchful gaze of the heavens. It was here, dear reader, that our path veered eastward, guided by the enigmatic markings on an aged map that had led us thus far. Yet, in our eagerness to uncover the secrets of Regulus Mane's abode, we unknowingly strayed from the intended course. And it was in this moment of deviation that our eyes beheld a sight so wondrous, it seemed plucked from the realm of dreams. Before us stood a magnificent hall, its walls ablaze with countless sparkling lights that mirrored the celestial beauty of the night sky. Each step we took brought us closer to the heart of this ethereal sanctuary, where a grand tree stood as the centerpiece. Its leaves, a resplendent shade of purple, glimmered with a mesmerizing radiance, casting a spell of enchantment upon all who beheld it. The air was thick with wonder as we marveled at the kaleidoscope of colors dancing upon the walls. It was as if time itself had stood still within this celestial haven. But alas, our quest called us forward, and with heavy hearts, we bid farewell to the sparkling hall, forever etching its ethereal beauty into the depths of our memories. Determined to reorient our path towards Regulus Mane's elusive abode, we embarked upon a daring voyage across the northern sea, our vessels cutting through the icy waters with unwavering resolve. Each wave carried us closer to our destination, guiding us eastward through treacherous currents. And lo, dear reader, our perseverance was rewarded as we discovered a hidden inlet that led us to the long-forgotten home of Regulus Mane. The building, though worn by time's relentless march, held an undeniable aura of significance. It was here, within these aged walls, that the footsteps of a pioneer once echoed. Illustration by @WizardWhisper As we cautiously stepped inside, our eyes fell upon our a solemn sight. Lying peacefully upon a bed was the lifeless form of Regulus Mane, his visage serene as if he had simply slipped into eternal slumber. It was a bittersweet moment for we had sought the presence of a legend, but now beheld the fragility of mortality. With utmost reverence, we carefully wrapped Regulus Mane's body, determined to bring him back to Petra where he could find a resting place benefiting his legacy and with a proper Canonist burial. The journey homeward was imbued with a solemn air, each step a testament to the honor we held for this intrepid explorer who had paved the way for our own adventures. In the heart of Petra, Regulus Mane found his final resting place, surrounded by the echoes of history and the gratitude of those who followed in his footsteps. The land that had witnessed his daring exploits would now cradle him in eternal embrace, a fitting tribute to a life lived in pursuit of discovery. And so, dear reader, a chapter draws to a close but the fire of exploration continues to burn bright within our souls. The tale of Regulus Mane, now interwoven with our own, serves as a reminder of the indomitable spirit that drives us forward, forever in the search of the unknown.
  14. The Adventures of Zephyrian: Vol. 1 The Icy Spire Extracts from the journals of Zephyrian 2nd of Snow's Maiden, 1928 It is with great pleasure that I take quill to paper once more, dear reader, to recount the marvels that have graced my intrepid path. The frozen wilderness of the northern realms of Aevos has unfurled its icy tapestry before my very eyes, revealing a symphony of enchantment and wonder, where nature's beauty holds sway amidst the frigid embrace of winter. In my wanderings, fate guided me to a forsaken village, its timeworn structures nestled beneath a blanket of snow. The desolation spoke volumes of a forgotten community, where echoes of laughter and life had long since been silenced. Oh, the tales these humble dwellings could tell, were it not for the relentless passage of time! Driven by an insatiable curiosity, I ventured deeper into the snow-laden streets, the chill air dancing with anticipation. What mysteries lay buried beneath this icy shroud? The whispers of the wind beckoned me forth, their ethereal voices calling for the truth to be unveiled amidst the snow-kissed silence. Within the confines of a weathered abode, my gaze fell upon a faded map, its worn parchment revealing the existence of a mysterious island. A grand tower stood as the island's crown jewel, encircled by icy spires that reached towards the heavens. It was a siren's call, summoning me to unearth the secrets hidden within those frost-laden walls. After a perilous voyage across a treacherous straight, the island materialized before me, its snow-capped peaks glistening like diamonds under the pale winter sun. The winds whispered warnings of the challenges ahead, but my spirit remained undeterred. Step by step, my footprints marked the virgin snow as I approached the tower, rising in stoic grandeur. The tower, veiled in a cloak of frost, welcomed me with open arms. As I ascended its spiraling staircase, each step held the weight of anticipation, for what wonders awaited me at its summit? The air within whispered of forgotten dreams, of audacious pursuits now lost to time. And then, dear reader, as I reached the pinnacle, I stood upon an open terrace, exposed to the frigid air. Before me, a panorama of breathtaking beauty unfolded—a vast landscape of majestic snow-capped mountains, their peaks piercing the heavens. The pristine whiteness stretched as far as the eye could see, an ethereal symphony of nature's artistry. The cold air kissed my cheeks, invigorating my spirit as I stood in awe of this sublime spectacle. In that moment, dear reader, I realized that the tower, though devoid of astronomical wonders, was itself an observatory of nature's grand design. It invited me to behold the pristine wilderness, to witness the harmonious dance of snow and mountains. It was a moment of profound connection, as if the very heartbeat of the world resonated within my own. As I descended the tower, the memory of that breathtaking vista nestled within the deepest recesses of my soul. It is a treasure I shall carry with me always—a reminder of the untamed beauty that lies beyond the confines of civilization, waiting to be discovered by intrepid souls like ours. May these words, dear reader, kindle the flame of curiosity within your heart, encouraging you to venture forth and uncover the marvels that await in the uncharted corners of this remarkable world.

  16. – Velulaei’onn Remnants of Renelia The Clan The Velulaei’onn lineage holds a sacred duty–to preserve and uphold the ancient traditions bestowed upon them by their ancestors. Rooted deeply in Renelian customs, the Velulaei’onn clan acts as the custodians of these time-honored practices, ensuring their continuity through the ages. The old Renelian traditions, intrinsically tied to the worship of Luara, are meticulously passed down through generations within the Velulaei’onn family. With unwavering dedication they safeguard the rituals, ceremonies, and knowledge of the religion that was once worshiped in Renelia-Gladewynn. The Velulaei’onn family’s matrilineal structure places great importance on the role of women within their society. It is through the female lineage that power, knowledge and ancestral wisdom flow. In this matriarchal system, the Archousa, as the head of the clan, holds a position of immense authority and respect. Mirallia Velulaei’onn is the current Archousa. She embodies the very essence of leadership. She carries the weight of her ancestor’s wisdom on her shoulders, ensuring the preservation of the clan’s family’s traditions and the spiritual guidance they provide. Through her leadership, the clan remains steadfast in their commitment to preserving the old traditions. Luara, the spirit of the moon, is seen as the illuminator of their path, guiding the Mali’ker. Her radiance inspires artistic expression, spiritual introspection, and profound connection with the ancestors. The Velulaei’onn find solace, enlightenment, and an eternal source of inspiration in Luara. Appearance The Velulaei’onn possess a striking appearance that has set them apart from other Dark Elves. Their skin is as dark as the starless night sky, a deep hue that seems to absorb all light around them. It is a perfect canvas for the silvery clan markings that adorn their bodies, creating an almost celestial effect that is both beautiful and eerie. Their hair, shimmering silver strands that add to the otherworldly quality of their appearance. Their eyes are large and luminous, like pools of liquid silver that reflect the moon’s glow. 21. A flyer is sent to the citizens of Malinor and its allies. Restoration: The Princedom of Malinor was the birthplace of the Elves. Here, our political, spiritual and religious identity was shaped. Here we first attained sovereignty. We created cultural values of national and universal importance, and even gave the world protection from the threat of Iblees in Asulon. After the fall of our ancestral home by the surrender of High Prince Sylvaeri, our people kept faith throughout the centuries that someday we may return home and renew our independence. In recent times, even before the foundation stone of our new capital had been placed; Elves came in numbers to rebuild a new, independent and sovereign Malinor. We will open for Elven migration and the ingathering of exiles. We will strive to develop the land for the good of all its residents. The state will be based upon foundations of liberty and justice as envisioned by our father Malin himself. We will ensure freedom of conscience, and education. We extend our hand to the realms of Almaris and their people to establish cooperation and mutual help. Malinor is ready to do its part in a joint effort for the advancement of all Elven peoples. I appeal to you, my kin to return. I appeal to you to come together within Malinor, and to stand by it in the great struggle for the realization of the age-old dream of the redemption of Malinor. By the virtue of our natural and historic right, we establish our ancestral home once more. Placing our trust in our father Malin, I sign this declaration of the restoration of The State of Malinor. The Sovereign Aych’cief Siadrrar
  22. "Such is a shame to watch one's kin fall so far from grace. We will bring glory and pride to the name of Malin, as our father would have wanted." Remarks the Sovereign of Malinor before returning to the construction of Luminaire.

This was the ancient home to the Elves, with some still remembering the days in which Malinor stood strong against Iblees’ hordes. Originally being the home to the Elves, Laurelin became a very popular city amongst all the races as it’s location within a dense forest made up of very large trees made it a safe haven. The location of the Malinorian capital made it the last point of defense for the descendants against Iblees’ hordes. It housed the portal the champions used to destroy the threat. Thanks to Laurelin, the descendant races were able to escape to Asulon, Malinor and its Elves following along, settling down in Elandriel. For some time, the Elves of Malinor lived in this new colony. It was built within a dark forest which was contested by Menorcress. Normandor quickly replaced Elandriel as the new capital of the state. It was a large city with an Elder Tree at the center of the city. It was the largest tree in Asulon, houses hung from the branches almost like ornaments and shops lined the roots that peaked through to the surface. Normandor was a city that welcomed many Humans, Elves and Dwarves, becoming quite diverse during its peak. The city was built on an island south of the Elven mainland. Even during this time, the Elves still called Malinor home. The High Elves established their own city of Haelun’or which grew independent, becoming a sovereign government later in Asulon. After the fall of Asulon, the Wood Elves and Dark Elves settled in Anthos, establishing a city named Leumalin. It was a peaceful and quiet settlement that lay between large trees. Like in Normandor, the Elves of Malinor built their homes within the trees, in and around them, hanging from the branches. The Holy Princedom of Malinor went through some governmental reforms in Anthos, rebranding itself as The Shining Princedom of Malinor, and its capital renamed Luminaire to tie the changes together. It was a prosperous time for the Elves of Malinor. The Arcane Delvers became very closely tied to the state of Malinor at the time, going as far as being considered a part of Malinor. Their lands included the village of Lenniel, later on becoming autonomous Wood Elven communities. On the outskirts of Luminaire, a refugee camp was built for those who were fleeing the conflict between the Elves and the Scourge. This refugee camp was known as New Malinor, later becoming the center of Malinor as the Elven capital of Luminaire became increasingly uninhabitable by the corruption caused by the Scourge. For some time, all the Elves lived together once more within the city as the High Elves of Haelun’or reunited with their cousins due to the corruption their own city was subjected to. Malinor did not last too long after that, as the Conclave of Malin rose and forced a peaceful capitulation of the Shining Princedom of Malinor. The last High Prince, Eleron Sylvaeri surrendering to the demands of the foreign entity, killing off the Elven state, never to be seen again in its full capacity. Since the end of the Shining Princedom of Malinor, an united Elven state has never reformed under such a name. However, the name of Malinor has been within the hearts and minds of many Elves that remember the days of the Elven princedom. Since its fall, many have wished for the return of Malinor. An Elven state that transcends the boundaries between the Elven subraces. One such man is known as Cyrus. In the more recent years, his poems and missives on the subject of Malinorian restoration have gathered the attention of ambitious Elves that agree with Cyrus. The desire for an independent Malinor to compete alongside the other realms has brought back once High Prince of Malinor, Bravepaw. He has given a clan with roots in the ancient settlement the blessing to continue the legacy of Malinor in Almaris. This seed is known as the Siadrrar seed. The Siadrrar traces its heritage all the way to the times of Malinor. While the seed was small and not well known, it was loyal and ever present. The seed continued to find itself within the Wood Elven communities that popped up, at some point being taught Druidism by one Arahaelth Aureon creating a line of Siadrrar Druids. In the more modern times, the family has been led by Aych’cief Siadrarr. An ambitious militarist that wishes to see an Elven state that defies the boundaries of the generic Elfdoms that have come before. After reading the missive ‘Dreams of Malinor’, Aych found himself within the halls of Dark Elven families that wished to join him in the reformation of Malinor. He and the newly formed Council of Elders managed to form a pact with the High Elves of Haelun’or and built a camp in which to base their operations. While they have managed to mostly stay out of the politics of the world, the council has seen it fit to move to bigger and better things. As the camp slowly grows in numbers, the newly reformed Malinor has found itself ready to establish a permanent home in the mountains on the eastern coast of Almaris. Settlement Government Structure Explanation: The State of Malinor is divided into three different branches of government. At the head is the crown. It is held by the sovereign, Aych’cief Siadrrar. It is a hereditary title that is at the top of the chain of command in the state. Under the crown is a council of elders. The council positions are appointed by the sovereign. They manage the day-to-day of the state, making sure that things run smoothly. The largest branch of government is the senate. It’s made up of elected officials from the city and any vassals under Malinor. The senate drafts up and votes on laws that are passed onto the sovereign. There are elections in the senate every 4 weeks. Settlement Builds and Infrastructure (photos required): How does this settlement offer a unique niche not already found in an existing polity on the server? There really only exist two elven communities on the server. Malinor is a middle ground between the two. We provide a more established and intertwined culture between our Wood Elven and Dark Elven citizens, giving the traditional rp a more modern and settled down version of the generic Elven roleplay. How does your settlement tie to the greater lore and narrative set by the community on LotC?: Many groups come and go from the server, the ability to gather a group of like-minded Elves with the simple goal of creating a community to compete with the other settlements and nations on the server in game from scratch falls in line with the narrative set by the community. Everything that has been done and everything our settlement stands for is in response to the other communities on the server. Have you ever run a settlement on LoTC before and what experience do you have with leadership within roleplay communities among the current groups of players? I previously led the High Elves as the Sohaer in Atlas, helping establish it and it’s community during my reign which is estimated to have run for about six months. During my time in Arcas, I helped build up Renelia to become the Mali’ker city of last map. I helped gather a player base for Renelia, and encouraged roleplay until my eventual leave. I have a good understanding on how to manage communities on a large scale, as well as how to maintain the interest of players through engaging roleplay and ooc involvement in the city's development. Do you understand the metrics for maintaining activity and the grounds for settlement removal, along with the standing polity cap? Yuh
