Seeing this thread made me think back a realize for what most consider a sort time on LoTC, I suprisingly have very fond RP memories.
1. First ever being on the server, a friend of mine had introduced me to this awesome RP server and I heard all about it. I knew immediately I was hooked and sent through an application which somehow accepted right away. I was a dark elf who's name I've forgotten but the first time walking around Athera was amazing. It was so well built and full of life and everyone seemed to be doing something. Immediately I was joined up with my friends mercs, even did my first RP with a tavern keep who was amazing whatever your name was.
2. My next character was an orc and until the end, I loved it to death. We were always do something(possibly rading... ;) ) and everyone was cool. It was the first large community from LoTC in which I was allowed in and everyone had each others backs. I picked up blah within a few days after hilarious attempts.
3. Rozaliya Malinov, my first real character although I hadn't realized it at the time. My group of friends who all use to be orcs with me moved on and we made up a big family who would become mercenaries. We worked so hard on this one keep which I will be frank was not our best to most but I loved that thing. We had built it, a place that showed we'd made progress on LoTC despite our small time. I still even have pictures.
Although I love that keep, Rozaliya (commonly called Rose by her friends and family) was by far my most noobish and best character. I hadn't realized it would be hard for me to in the future give up the character, something long over due, but I want a good ending for her. She has endured and experienced so much more then I ever thought she would. The character is so fleshed out and so much back story that I look back on what she was when I started and can't help but sit in awe. I didn't know what to expect from her but I ended up with a hell of a good experience.
4. My first real RP fight with no rolls. I was back in Blackwood mercenary company and we were doing RP training, I was on Rose. I was so confused about the thought of not Rolling but I had a good opponent who was an older player. We traded blows and it was then when I learned how to flesh out my characters weaknesses. Eventually I got my *** beat so badly I surrendered and that was the end of my favorite RP fight ever.
5. Rose had gone on to be in Augustus d'Amuary's 1st Honor Guard with her family. We were treated well and got to see amazing RP from nobles at that point. It was interesting RP considering we were Arteh's guards and suppose to be legendary and not to mention the battles we fought in for him. She had somehow become a more common guard for Annabelle d'Amuary which provided for unique RP that I have never had ever again and I thank those for the great experiences that came with that job not to mention the character development.
6. Eventually I went on to make a character named Lexa Green and once again had no goals besides joining friends in Hallowvale. Another group of mercs with good guys. I joined up and the character blossomed and changed for so many things, but one of the best memories I had was of training gone wrong as I like to say. Rodney and Ashton vs Adil and Lexa, that was the original deal of course and as Vanders I'd like to say we are tough as hell. We were litterally beating each other, of course we all kept trying to alternate so that our team mates weren't overwhelmed. At one point, Ashton and I were sharing blows but I had bettered him and gotten him to the ground, Rodney occupied by Adil. All of the sudden Eric comes out of no where, hitting me in the back with the hilt flat of his sword, he wasn't part of the training and had a grudge with my charcter so that happened. Suddenly Nemir appears and starts attacking Eric and somehow tackles him to the ground and sits on him to keep him down as the two yell at each other! Mean while Ashton had gotten damn good punches on me but somehow he had ended up fighting Adil and I Rodney. Lexa wasn't so happy with Rodney at the time and had managed to hold onto him from his back, choking in him the process till he went uncounsious. Needless to say, we all ended up in the Hallowvale keep's infirmary, all 6 of us and had to get clerics to heal us due to a broken jaw, broken limps, broken ribs, and bruises. The clerics thought we were trying to kill one another, and needless to say that was the training gone terribly wrong.
6. Unbaed said this and I remebered it and love it as well:
3. Me and some friends were getting robbed by bandits when some giant ass wave of Oreners came from the wood elf boat and made them run off
