  1. to piggy back off of @Smaw’s excellent status about no taxes on tiles / nations, staff should tax nation’s in other ways that aren’t mina or materials while also fostering activity. this can be accomplished via environmental events that effect the settlements and require rp work, NPC settlements that encroach on their territory, and nice eventlines that work to aid a settlements activity, not purposefully work to stunt them into grinding to maintain a tile. what’s even the explanation for them? “upkeep?” all of that should be handled via rp to foster rp. cause this is an rp server where u rp.

would make sense to have a solution for poor activity to be something that generates RP, instead of something like mina which is influenced by OOC aspects

100% Agree! Putting tiles into some form of rp issue would be pretty amazing. As the grind for materials/mina does nothing to help produce rp. Should the settlement fail, the can eventline still reside within the nation/tile for someone in the future to take over.

I could almost see this being used to give nations a 'claiming' event when buying a new tile as well. Making them go through a small or large rp eventline in order to claim their new land rather than just chuck over some mina.

Yeh nation land is pretty OOC this map. Nations pay the upkeep and in return get 100% control over their land without even needing to set up watchtowers along the border or anything.

While I personally prefer freebuild to add that nuance to land ownership, if we’re gonna hand out whole tiles to nations we might as well make there be more Roleplay going on related to that.
