In-Character Information Character’s name: Kaylie Character’s sex: Female Character’s race: High Elf Character’s age: Forty-seven Biography Haelunor was home to many financially well High Elven families, or at least, Kaylie's was. She enjoyed many leisures that she would otherwise not be able to have as a normal girl. She spent her days trying her best to use her good balance and light weight to her advantage in dancing, however never really thought much of doing anything with it, since she was just a child, young and naïve. She learned to grow up quickly, however, when Laurelin conqured Annil'sul and blew everything out of the water, including Kaylie's life. Suddenly, their money, house, and even most of their belongings were stripped from them completely, and the girl's father was enslaved. Her mother promptly left without a second thought, not really caring what happened to the young girl and her older brother. At age 37 she was moved to the slums in the city Petrus. Adjusting was hard at first for the young elf, however, eventually she managed to get used to it, at about age 39 accepting the fact that her old life was dead. However, Kaylie learned something that she hadn't before. People enjoyed to watch her dance. Even though everyone, including her, was dirty, poor, and hungry, a few people in the slums would set aside their worries to watch the girl dance. Some shared their food, and a few of the more wealthy people would even occasionally give her bits and pieces of money. She was smart and used some of it to further develop her dancing, and eventually was able to get enough money to start again, though part of her wanted to stay. Slowly but surely the girl began building her way back to the top. She'd still be poor, yes, but nothing like her first year with nothing. She, at age 43, had danced and performed in five major cities, and some in her slums say that she performed in Laurelin for their ruler. However, others speculate that this was a rumor started by her brother. Some of her other accomplishments include working with an Illusionary Mage to create an illusion that Kaylie was able to set the area she was dancing on catch fire. This frightened her, however, so she ended up not doing it again. Personality Traits: Kaylie can stand on a stage in front of a lot of people and pull off some pretty intricate dances that require a lot of concentration, however when talking to people up close and normally, she seems to exhibit signs of a bit of shyness. She is commonly seen looking down at her feet if nervous or frightened. If she becomes agitated or angered, she will usually storm off and begin to dance to herself, quietly whispering the steps in a frustrated tone. She is also known to be particularly fond of wines and spirits, as well as uncommon foods. When her budget supports it, she will occasionally buy face paints in which she decorates herself with. Otherwise, she won't turn down some things considered taboo, like strong alcohols or drugs. She is, however, known to hate most types of dairy, and is allergic to honey. Ambitions: Ever since she started her serious career as a dancer, Kaylie has always wanted to simply be able to find the time to settle down and relax. However, with her low pay, she never has been able to, ending up tired a lot of times on some days she has off, effectively unable to enjoy herself. Strengths/Talents: Kaylie, as her profession would require, is an exquisite dancer, and a decent singer as well. The former, she's worked on since she was very, very young, but the latter is more of a recent interest, usually accompanied by her dances. Weaknesses/Inabilities: She is known for not being the best in terms of social skills and having the tendency to become frustrated. She will always be the first to tell people that she finds it flattering that people pay her to 'flail around' on a stage for a while. She's trying to get better at singing, however it's a slow journey. Appearance: Kaylie stands at a short 5'11, and has a fairly curvy appearance, as would be expected from a High Elven woman. Her ears are sharp and pointed, and her skin is a pale white. Her hair is a blonde color, however in some light it can look a silver-ish color. Her eyes are violet, however some say when she was a child they were blue. She wears light clothing, usually with a robe-like top that comes down to cover a bit of her legs. She also wears several golden colored bands that usually connect to another via a translucent grey material. Since she grew up the poorest of the poor, she is accustomed to not wearing shoes, and is barefoot. Her wardrobe is occasionally graced by different colored face paints, when she can afford to use so. Otherwise, she adores jewelry worn on the forehead, like a headband or necklace, both of which she wears. Skin:
