  1. "Wubdezkha?" A Goblin would say as they scratched their head profusely in confusion "Yub, Rex has asked to have peace many times. Horde simply wants their sands back from when your rexes decided to invade our lands." The goblin would say pausing for a moment. "Maybe latz should ask latz own rex why they haven't tried discussing peace back? Our very race has been threatened since the beginning of this war and both sides have seen losses but it is only when the outnumbered horde starts winning that latz wants to speak of the horrors of war." The goblin would finish, clearly having more to say but turning to welcome the new influx of Goblins to the city.
  2. A Goblin would draw a reenactment of the battle.

would have been more convincing if lotc had a dev who could make it lol.
  4. Alaric would pull his boat further up the shore after finally reaching land on his journey west. Resting at the makeshift camp he had made he would turn to collect the bird in its cage that accompanied him. Reaching a finger to stroke the white feathered head of the bird as he wrote his second letter to his sister, soon removing the bird from its confine and sending it east towards the lands Arcas with the letter in tow. He’d watch as the small black dot of the bird slowly faded from sight, only then turning to walk into the thick brush for a source of food and water to keep him alive whilst waiting for the bird to return with a response from Edyth. As the sun slowly set behind him he’d sit around his fire digging through his pack pulling out a fox pelt and a small music box. Winding the music box he’d slowly lay to rest for the night listening to the song that calmed him since he was a young boy, a deep sadness running through him as another note seemed to be missing from its old song.
  5. Lorien rolls out of his hammock onto a small bundle of hay after reading the paper slipped through the floorboards “Yes I believe now is a good time to show those who remember me that i am still alive” he’d say as he dug around for his axe to cut his way out of the room he boarded himself in.
  6. Lorien would roll over in his hammock hidden away within the taverns attic, stirring from his many years of rest “Ah, this I can get behind!” he’d say rolling back over, getting a few more minutes in.
  7. Alaric would close his eyes, the weight of the bags beneath them becoming ever present as he sat in his silence. The small music box beside his bed ticking quietly, it’s song breaking more and more as his family grew smaller. The song that once held him together as a young boy after his fathers death only reminded him of his solitude now. Alaric would reminisce on when he and Edyth were children playing throughout the town with their friends, making their secret bases and playing hide and seek. “I wonder, how different things would have ended up had father taken us on that fishing trip that day...” he’d say to himself. Lowering his head and opening his eyes he would notice the music had stopped.
  8. Alaric would narrow his eyes as he read “by the father, after reading this article I wish I were brain dead... willing myself to finish reading this piece proved harder a task then the 9 beat downs we delivered your forces...” he would say rubbing his forehead “Holy **** that was terrible” he’d conclude as he drank to hopefully rid his mind of this cursed writing.
  9. Narthoks Farewell I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Grool for having the courage to reach out to me about my circumstances when all other Admins refused to update me or speak to me. Despite my differences with Grool I think it shows a great deal of integrity on his part and he has earned my respect for doing so. For those of you who were unaware, I am to be admin banned come friday. While ‘appeal’ is discussed I think we all know that I will never be unbanned from this server. My adventure on Lotc has been a great one that I will remember extremely fondly. Through all the epic battles, tragic deaths, betrayals and such. I genuinely enjoyed every moment of it. From when I first joined the server as a naive 14 year old looking for an escape. To now as I depart, a 22 year old on the cusp of entering post grad. Lotc has always been a passion of mine. Providing a much needed escape from periods of hardship in my life as well as providing me with the opportunity to make some genuinely lasting friendships that in some cases are approaching a decade in length. Here I built what many will agree has been the most persistent and consistent antagonist on the server. I have always been the foil or the villain to many here. And to some degree have enjoyed that role. Loss was always undesirable but never particularly anathema to me. And I tried to exemplify that philosophy in my actions. Always PKing on the first death, allowing my nations to be conquered rather than taking to endless lawyering. If I am to leave anything to Lotc I hope that among other things I hope that people remember that taking the server seriously and being passionate about it are not mutually exclusive. Enjoying lotc should not mean putting your own ooc interests over the narrative. Death and defeat progress the story far more than being the eternal hero ever could. Conflict is good for storytelling, something this server has increasingly forgotten. But in the end I can’t help but breathe some sigh of relief at my departure. I have a deep love for LOTC, it has been one of my fondest and most consistent hobbies for some third of my life. But the server for me has lost a great deal of its lustre. It feels incredibly difficult to create content, to expand and grow, to interact dynamically. I felt like a prisoner in my own city. I wish you all the best of luck in your future LOTC endeavors. To the Norlandic Community, both old and new Our trials and tribulations were some of my fondest memories not only on LOTC but irl. Many of you came to me as complete and utter retards and I’ve watched you grow into semi competent human beings. Norland has survived so much internal drama, so many annihilations and kept on chugging. I am incredibly proud of what we have continued to achieve and the strength of our community to keep getting up over and over and over again no matter what we face. My dms will always be open to all of you. The replacements I have appointed have my full confidence and should take the Nordish community successfully into the future wherever that may lead.. I will be setting the affairs of my nation in order, polishing off some pieces of lore and then departing.
  10. Alaric would send a prayer to the father. Though they may have been of dissimilar religions, and ideal even he had heard of the respect this man had. “May this war end soon, too many good men die while the vile stay hidden behind them in their walls. May you find your peace, Isaak.” ((ooc)): cheers having the courage to pk, in war times dying in (good) rp and pking due to it really helps to build an interesting story.
  11. Alaric would dip his head, giving a brief word to the father. “May this coward of an Emperor admit his ineptitude soon so we may end this violence. His people need not die for his shortcomings.”
  12. “Your ineptitude is unfathomable, you condemn your people to die.” Alaric would say upon hearing of the supposed Emperors response. “Though your ability to still write despite having your skull crushed is commendable.”
  13. “Odd how sallying out to defend your people’s and allies when wronged is acceptable, and heroic when you do it. Had your poor excuse of an ‘Emperor’ not intervened In Morsgrads business with Haense when they attacked Rubern unprovoked then all of this would have been settled rather peacefully.” Alaric would comment upon reading the missive.
  14. Norland should be Morsgrad, also have a CT hop in to talk with us, we’ve been attracting a lot of new players and retaining more than 80% of the ones not tp’d away.
  15. PACT OF TAHU’LAREH 1740 “To guarantee sovereignty and peace in our time” SIGNED 1740 This pact hereby entails the principles to an accord agreed upon by the signees, to be adhered to by both their respective civilians and military alike. Should either principle be broken by a respective participant of either nation, then a truce will be inherently invoked, ergo allowing a maximum of three saints days wherein efforts to re-evaluate the accord, and, or, deem the accord no longer viable. Both parties shall uphold a state of peace between their respective realms, forbidding any acts of aggression onto either signatory part’s realm or populace. Henceforth, both parties will adhere to a strict non-aggression agreement that will be enforced. Both parties will aid one another in obtaining fugitives and criminals to their respective civilisation, unless one has a pact with said respective nation from which the fugitive hails from. GODRIC, HIS SERENE HIGHNESS, Aldred of the Tundrak Bloodline, First of His Name, Grand Prince of the Princedom of Fenn and Mali’Fenn, Protector of the Idhren’tirn, Hesin’fin, Commander of the Citadel of Acael, Protector of Tahu’lareh, The Chosen of Wyvurn Chrom’ilvya Atmorice, High Emissary of the Evar’hileian, Grand Councillor to the Grand Prince, Matriarch of the Atmorice Bloodline
  16. Alaric would nod, returning to his training “Be sure to bring me the next message, this is just getting good!” he’d say as he dismissed his attendant.
  17. “Imagine bending over when one of your own are slaughtered, perhaps this is why nobody bats an eye when killing a haenseman for they know their own countrymen will do nothing about it” Alaric would say returning to his duties.
  18. Alaric would raise a mug for his new friend who had scaled the mountain with him before the rest had roped in a few minutes later, yet remained unnamed. ”Yer a brave man Septimus, glad te ‘ave someone as dependable as ye with us”
  19. “Ew, Godrics gonna kiss a girl!” Alaric would say after reading the parchment to his group of friends. The collection of Morsgrad children letting out a collective “eeeeew”
  20. Alaric would be saddened by the news “soon my brother will rid these lands of those savage long ears” he’d say as he rose from his desk leaving his studies for later, throwing himself into his bed. “Maybe Morsgrad could take the cats in?” He’d say as he pet his loyal fox.
  21. In all seriousness though ideally this is a good system and a good step forward, having mods actually talk with players (preferably in vc, tired of mods being afraid or unwilling to communicate with players even if they're undesirables) and those involved in the situation will help get rid of what seems to be knee jerk reactions from mods when nobody involved want any punishments. We’ll see how it goes, here’s to hoping though.
  22. “Finally something interesting from the small men” Lorien would say as his associate recited the news to him, laid back in his attic hammock. ”Maybe they’re worth a visit after all”
