Another idea would be to have different types of dungeons. Some heavily involved in story, maybe some filled with rare resources, maybe others connected to the self teaching altars. Some that act as monster nests. I think this would be a cool project to work with the World Team. Maybe have some PvE focused ones as well where STs are not necessarily needed and people can hunt custom hostile mobs and as you go through the dungeon maybe curios, signs or region messages tell you some sort of story. Or simply the dungeon is a bit more focused on monster hunting and has a story that maybe is not as deep as the ones told in other types of dungeons. I like the idea of dungeons being kinda “modular” where maybe the interactions of the descendants will start opening new areas within a dungeon. So it feels like the effort made by adventurers is represented by the development of the dungeon itself. Would also be interesting to see how the dungeons implement stuff from the new plugins we have. So maybe you also find out that there are some rare resources within the dungeon and that is the entire reasoning for you being there. Idk that is a list of ideas I had when I read your post and Xarkly’s.

Hmmm I love the idea of having Dungeons in LoTC I remember a while ago Xarlkly made a post with some interesting ideas. Maybe your idea and his can be developed together?

If guns do make it through then I think people using guns should like glow or something. They did that with magic users while they cast why not with people holding guns-

Don’t understand what is the fixation with guns. Admins have told us time and time again, the time in the calendar has no relationship with IRL calendar. The date we are on doesn’t mean we should have the same tech in game than the ones being developed in the IRL calendar. I can already see multiple cases of people going #w loads gun #w aims gun #s headshots his enemy with his concealed gun. If people that want them in say it’ll be just like having crossbows and arbalests then have them use those. But adding guns would really affect the fantasy feel of the server. Cannons I can agree with, they were in LoTC in the past and are easier to control. Since you won’t have people just carrying them around on their backs. (Hopefully)

I’ve not been able to see this IG yet but I hope you are taking into account that races like dwarves swear for good things as well. It’s a part of their culture.

Was a part of the Focus Group. It was a fun experiment but it is really hard to really grasp what the pots and pandits should be about. As well as the situation mentioned by marb in which ETs were added and the focus group died off. Not having permission to do events people started leaving it. Maybe it would be a cool idea to have some sort of CRP scenario in the tutorial island? Or an attempt to bandit someone in it. This could help with what Zacho said on his comment. I think one of the main lessons a player should get from this is that it’s OK to lose. Many players have problems with this. I think @joel had a cool idea he pitched in before being removed. (Not 100% sure might be remembering this wrong) I think the question made by Xarkly is important tho. What guidelines will you follow? Will you post some sort of CRP guide? Will you cover different areas like Rollplay, CRP, PvP. Different weapons? Wounds? The reason why ETs were brought in to the focus group at the time was to review our RP skills. Since they spend time doing events and often events involve CRP then they are bit more used to it. Hence the presence of an ET could prove benefitial to the project.

I really have trouble understanding what is the problem with Pings, if you are interested in stuff regarding the LoTC community why go into a rage when you get a ping? Sure a games role works to avoid pinging everyone for something not everyone might be interested in. But one of the things I always find a bit silly is how threads like this one for example don’t even deserve a ping. Like mate if you dislike pings so much just mute announcements or something. But not pinging reduces the amount of people that see what you are posting in announcements. (Evidence: The wiki announcement in which they planned to delete a ton of character pages)

Limiting help to nation/charter leaders/stewards doesn’t seem like the best idea. I for one am not usually on those positions yet I try and help new players as much as possible. Maybe bring back the discord role of helpers and have a small application for that?

While this could help in the long run I think there are also things that need to be considered. The NPD has managed to stay mostly toxicity-free but I don’t know if it’s the same case for regular old discord. Maybe have a special section in the discord for the new players and people willing to help them?
