To show dominance. My mineman is unable to do the T-pose so instead I describe down to the minute details what my elf does, his breathing, the movement of his eyes, the twitch of his ears as someone says a word which brings up a memory from a century ago, the brief distraction, the wrong pronounciation of the unknown drink. As the glass is served, one should study it, the colour of the liquid, he took it up and gently moving it in a circular motion, releasing the scent which he ever so carefully let in and first once he was made familiar, he took a small sip, the first of many expeditions to be had as he savoured and judged the taste, it's richness and wether or not the endevour should be pursued or abandoned for another drink.

  2. “Oi too pray fer t’a norf folks. T’ey should all conver’ ter t’a TRUE faith o’ Knoxism an’ nay abandon t’a Grea’ Farmer, Billeh Bob, who grew t’em frem t’a earth!” states Mimosa Applefoot, a halfling from Honeyhill, standing tall on the hay pile. ”Oi don’ ge’ all tha’ talk o’ war though. Tha’ seems a bi’ silleh. T’a big folks should ‘ave ah shoggin’ tourneh if t’ey’re realleh so concerned. T’a Grea’ Farmer don’ loike war vereh much.”
  3. “Oi shall beh t’ere!” states the obviously TRUE leader of all halflings, Mimosa Applefoot. “Wouldnae miss ‘t fer aneh reason a’ all!”
  4. [!] A letter is circulated around the village of Honeyhill Unity & Peace! ~King Cyris on the hay stack~ War hangs over Honeyhill. The peace of the Knoxist church has been disrupted, Sheriffs and old Sheriff candidates argue in the streets, and Knox himself frowns upon the weefolk. At the request of King Cyris, I, Mimosa Applefoot, call upon the Goodbarrels to resolve this matter and avoid a conflict, needless suffering, and mass improperness. There should be an election rather than a war, and halfling unity rather than halfling aristocracy. Put away your shovels, rockets, and whatever else you were planning. There will be peace in Honeyhill. ~Mimosa Applefoot
  5. [!] You find a paper pinned to the Honeyhill Noticeboard Ye are not a Thain T'was but an old fear of mine that I hoped to be false, but now I see it confirmed by Lily Peregrin herself. The Peregrin family, having lost all of the wisdom of Iris Peregrin, fancy themselves as Halfling Monarchs. She now claims Knox to have personally chosen the Peregrins to rule forever much in the same way that biggun Kings and their Canonist Church claim to rule through the right of GOD. Lily Peregrin so detests the idea of a non-aristocratic Thaindom as to slander all Applefoots in defense of a Peregrin-centric view of history that simply is not true. We Applefoots keep close records of things, and as I now scour through my late father's notes, I note his deep friendship with Thain Iris Peregrin. What would Iris Peregrin, were she alive today, think of Lily's insults towards the Applefoots when near half of her great projects were undergone alongside my father, a proud Applefoot through and through? When the stink of corruption rotted away at Bramblebury, who went alongside Iris and her family to found Knoxville? When Isalie threatened to uplift halflings from our homes and hurl us into biggun refuge, who stuck with Iris and built much of Bloomerville with her? Peregrins and Applefoots have never hated one another, until now of course when Lily brings the topic up in a crude defense of her rule as "Thain". The fact remains that Lily has scant few arguments in defense of her rule as "Thain" other than her family name, and so she must lift it up onto a pedestal and kick down the legacy of every other family so her one argument looks a little nicer. When Rollo Applefoot founded the very Thaindom that Lily now lays claim to based on Peregrin heritage, he made sure to set a good precedent for future Thains. When the time came to pick his successor, he chose an O'Connel instead of an Applefoot. What Lily fails to understand is that I, Mimosa Applefoot, do not lay claim to Thaindom based on heritage. If such were to be the case, what foolishness would Rollo's non-Applefoot succession choices have been! I do not seek to build a dynasty much in the same way that the Rollo did not build a dynasty either. We Applefoots do not see ourselves as monarchs, aristocrats, or nobles of any kind, nor do we wish to rule "Until Arugula rises from the sea and swallows the whole world", as Lily put it. I wish to rule based on my merit and appoint a successor based on merit as well, which is what now sets me apart from Lily Peregrin's leadership philosophy. I pray for the halflings lured towards Lilly by the promise of power, for although minor positions she may grant and elections she may upend, when the time comes for one Thain to pass onto the next, Lily would only ever appoint another Peregrin, regardless of the service of other halflings and their families. We are all one family under Knox, and one family under Knox we ought to remain instead of only Peregrins under Knox and all other families under the Peregrins. The only monarch I shall ever support in Honeyhill is King Cyris, who unlike Lily, devotes himself to Knox out of love rather than personal gain. We shall not become a Halfling Kingdom ruled as the bigguns rule themselves. -Thain Mimosa Applefoot.
  6. (( )) [!] You find a note in your aviary A New Thain As Elder of Honeyhill, much rests on me wee shoulders. Party planning, Knoxist worship, keeping us all proper, prosperous, and safe. A part of this duty lies in recognizing when even more is required of me. Today, I reluctantly announce that the time has come for me to step above my duties. The current Thain, Lily Peregrin, holds onto power not through solid leadership and cunning, but through naught but familial ties to the Great Thains of old. I hold nothing against her, but as Elder I must recognize that for an Elder such as myself to do all of the heavy lifting while the Thain t'is idle is nay how a village ought to be run! Le' us recall Lord Knox's wishes for our people; that we are to be peaceful, prosperous, and proper. This is how the Thaindom came to be supported by Lord Knox himself in pursuit of these goals, yet the Thaindom itself is not Knox's demand from us, only a method by which we remain faithful to Him. A Thain capable of leading us halflings is a part of how we remain true to Knox and to ourselves, not having any Thain in particular or dynasty of Thains. Thus, I proclaim myself as the next Thain of Honeyhill, assuming all of the old Thain Lily Peregrin's responsibilities. Let us meet next Pumpkin Day in the church to make the matter official. The Sheriff elections shall continue as normal. Knox bless us all. -Thain Mimosa Applefoot, halfling of Honeyhill. ((4 pm est tomorrow on Sunday, 9/18/2022))
  7. This is prejudiced against People of Inherited Wealth & Power and extremely monarchophobic. Please do not be a monarchophobe it's very cruel towards people who've done nothing wrong but be born into a life of luxury.
  8. Is it REALLY fair for British LOTCers to be playing on the server and having fun instead of mourning the tragic loss of their Head of State cruelly stolen from them by death at the young age of 97? Even Guinea Pig Awareness week is cancelled over in Britain now out of respect for the Queen, so I think LOTC should learn from this example and ban the British LOTCers for some time so they can reflect on their queen's death. Please, I beg you staff, have some respect for the royalty. Don't let the brits on LOTC be so disrespectful as to play on the server while the Queen has her state funeral.
  9. Mimosa Applefoot, head writer and editor for the Hay Herald, frowns upon reading this. "May t'a warrior bigguns foind t'a love o' t'eir crea'or, Billeh Bob, an' re'urn 'ome ter ah warm 'ome an' 'earth ins'ead o' t'a ba''lefield. T'eir souls beh a' risk othahwise." She'd make a circular motion with her fist near her chest before bumping it next to her heart.
  10. [!] A newspaper is stuffed into your aviary mailbox. How did this get here? T'a Hay Herald: Volume 5 ~Bringing you quality news since the dawn of the world!~ CONTENTS: ~Offerings to Lord Knox STOLEN!~ ~New patch of crops!~ ~Bigguns act stupid again!~ ~Town meeting soon!~ ~Melons to the MOON!~ ~Offerings to Lord Knox STOLEN!~ An absolute tragedy to all of halfling kind struck but a few Pumpkin Days ago! Our generously provided offerings to our one true lord and savior, Lord Knox himself, lord of pumpkins and the harvest, were STOLEN right under our noses! Thankfully a group of weefolk adventurers (including two contenders for Sheriff, Breasal & Cyris, as well as the friendly village goblin) were able to return the offerings to their rightful place! Knox bless these heroes! ~New patch of crops!~ ~Biggun pictured for scale~ Much o' our village still be empty and in sore need of touching up! Thus, I've put in a little garden allotment here for anyone to take if they so choose. Any crop that grows well in the shade ought to thrive here! ~Bigguns act stupid again!~ T'a big folks be preparing for warfare yet again! For what reasons, I dunnae truly know, but I'm sure it's as dumb as they always are. Far too often have us halflings been complicit in these HORRIBLE wars, even sending some slingers to help biggun armies in battle! To this, I say NAY MORE! Nay longer shall we participate in such terrible activities, even if passively and nay encouraged by the Sheriff o' Thain. I sure ain't lifting a finger in any wars that be brewing up! If there's anything for us to be ashamed of, its how we've let this ARUGULEAN CORRUPTION enter our society several times already! Enough is enough. There is nay war in Honeyhill and never will be. ~Town meeting soon~ Since the last proposed meeting o' Honeyhill villagers nay amounted to anything, I propose another one next Pumpkin Day, right as the sun be high in the sky! Hopefully the Sheriff candidates can get some words in then! ((6 PM EST, tomorrow on 9/15/2022)) ~Melons to the MOON!~ The exchange value o' melons just keeps rising and rising and rising! With limited domestic supply (and great demand after the recent Melon-Eating Contest fad hit new highs), traders are going wild bartering for all the melons and melon slices they can! It will be a while until farmers put new melon crops into the ground this spring, so until then make sure to trade in your pumpkins for melons to get in on the frenzy! Melons can only go up! (Do keep a few Pumpkins for Knoxist-worship related reasons of course) This has been Mimosa Applefoot wif t'a Hay Herald, signing off! ~Mimosa Applefoot, with the Hay Herald (duh)

  13. [!] You find a flier in your aviary Let the LORD enter your life! My fellow halflings, for much too long has the church remained empty. Many of us are left astray, without the spiritual guidance we require. It is time for us to once again gather in the pews and learn the ways of our people, the history of the world and all that lives in it, and of the Great Farmer, Billy Bob, himself, whose spirits guide and guard us from the evil ways of the dark Squid-lord Arugula. Lord Knox principle among them, the true protector of weefolks from now all the way back to ancient times, risen from the fields to ward off evil spirits, thieves, bandits, and other troubles. How are we to continue receiving these blessings without devotion and reverence to Knox himself? Knox commands us to worship him, and worship him we shall! O Lord Knox, From the fields you arose, and the fields I now tend, May you grant me your guidance In my life 'till the end Amen. -Mimosa Applefoot, Proud Knoxist. ((5 PM EST, tomorrow on Sunday 9/11/2022, located in Honeyhill, the home of the halflings, just past the fields outside of Karosgrad))
  14. [!] A note is pinned to the Honeyhill Noticeboard. Happy Hour! For a limited time only next Pumpkin Day, every freely provided drink in the tavern will also come with FREE pipeweed!* *pipes not included. Please smoke responsibly. ((Just a li’l thing for tomorrow. 3 pm est, Saturday the 10th of September, 2022))
  15. If anti-ladder walls are to be banned then ladders shouldn’t be allowed in siege battles either. Otherwise siege battles are blob fights just like field battles but on the walls or in the town square instead of a field.
  16. “Elec’ions? Oi though’ weh were s’ill ah dic’a’orship. T’a more yew know oi suppose” states Mimosa Applefoot after a long day harvesting pumpkins on top of her burrow.
  17. [!] You find a letter in your aviary Gardening! ~A friendly biggun inspects the gardens of Honeyhill~ Our village may be beautiful, but we can make it more beautiful still! Far too much space lies empty, but with a bit of work we can make the village blossom with gardens once again! Ye be invited to join me in this noble task and plant gardens in and around the burrows of Honeyhill! Bring shovels, hoes, seeds, and any flower bulbs you fancy! ~Mimosa Applefoot ((7 pm est, tomorrow on wednesday the 7th of September, 2022))
  18. Why can't the bandits and burglars agree to not do stuff at 3 am est when no guards can be online and the builders and nation leaders agree to not have unmanned gates and lazy iron door spam citizen doors so that everyone on the server immediately has a much better experience? A lot of these problems could get cleared up with communication, although perhaps that's much to idealistic for the server and we're firmly set in our ways.
  19. honestly my number 1 critique of the forums these days are that people don't put enough poetry and less important information on it. I can find poetry from vailor and athera and anthos and asulon and yadda yadda on the wiki but I honestly don't know if anyone's put any new poetry on the wiki at all. or like, things that aren't wars, battles, noble bloodlines, or character/settlement related aren't put on the wiki much anymore. https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Vimmark-Sola_duel https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Goblin_Unification_Act stuff like this is cool I want more of this stuff on the wiki https://wiki.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Literature we haven't had anything added to here since like 2017, only been edited to remove some random mori'quessir book or whatever. I want to find fun stuff on the wiki sometimes not just boring old nobility and warfare crud that I either already know about or don't care about. (maybe LOTC just doesn't have those weird kooky sort of less important events anymore and I'm just behind the times who knows. Do people still write poetry on LOTC outside of like that one person in Haense?)
  20. more wynncraft rip off- I mean, uh, unique LOTC CRP content

  21. [!] Another strange note is posted to the Honeyhill Noticeboard Calling All ye Heroes! The spiders are back, and this time, they mean business! Let's get back at them and make sure they don't cause any future troubles! ((Event 5 PM EST, tomorrow on Sunday the 4th of September, 2022))
  22. Mimosa Applefoot wakes up in the middle of the night as a newspaper is thrown against her burrow door. “Huh… guess oi’ll ‘ave ter ligh’ ah candle again…” she’d head to her study and read the newspaper in the night.
