  1. “Long may she reign in the skies. As she makes the fallen of the Imperial guard chase her across the skies as she randomly picked up passed on little ones.” Manfred declared as he got the missive.
  2. Issued and averred by the office of the REIKSMARSHAL A Missive to the Sons of the Empire and All Allies in Arms Be it proclaimed unto all provinces and dominions of the Empire: in the Year of Our Lord 2044, the banners of Man are once more unfurled for a mighty undertaking—the siege of the cursed city of Valdev, that den of corruption and shadow wherein Chaos itself hath made its lair. By command of His Imperial Majesty, and under the leadership of the Reiksmarshal of the Empire, there shall be gathered the noble armies of the Empire, the hardy warriors of Norland, and the stalwart hosts of the Númenedain, standing together in concord. These banners shall be as bulwark and sword, united in cause and in strength, until the city of ruin is made desolate. It is resolved that the city shall be brought low not by rash assault but by art and by iron. Siegeworks and mighty engines of war are to be raised against its walls; batteries of great cannon shall thunder without ceasing; stones, shot, and firepots shall rain upon its ramparts till they crumble into dust. The bridges and gates shall be hewn down, and the very earthworks undermined, so that Valdev may stand no longer as a fortress of ruin, but as a memory of judgment. Let all soldiers, knights, and allies understand: this campaign is ordained not for plunder nor for pride, but for the cleansing of a blight that hath long plagued mankind. The hosts of the Empire shall be the hammer, and their allies the anvil, until the city’s walls are ground to ruin and its corruption utterly purged. Raise prayers to God, sharpen your blades, and steel your hearts. For when the horns sound and the bombardment begins, the cursed bastion of Valdev shall tremble, and all the world shall know the wrath and unity of the Empire and her allies. 4. If nothing else fixing the recipes for most of the pvp gear to be more forgiving or realistic so that when combat does occure people suffer less for taking a fight for the fun of it rather than hunking the whole time to avoid loosing kit cause that's how this work now. Even though pvp would be over quick nobody wants to engage without a clear victory cause the pain in the ass it'd is to replace the lost leather.
  5. Manfred simply supplies the location of bandit fort to every Imperial Military organization and called off any restrictions on the hunting of bandits that had been placed vassal and mercenaries.
  6. Manfred read the missive curiously before stating simply. “More land to patrol I guess.”
  7. Issued and averred by the office of the LORD MARSHAL To All Honorable Soldiers of the Imperial Reiksguard, and to Every Servant of the Imperial Government, Let it be known throughout the breadth of the Empire, by the will of His Imperial Majesty, and by assent of the Reiksmarshal of the Empire: His Imperial Highness Maximilian Caius of the House Horen, second son of the Emperor, Prince of the Empire, Prince of Burgundy, and Duke of Avar@sam33497, having completed many years of rigorous instruction and discipline in his youth, has now taken upon himself the sacred mantle of duty owed to the realm. By this decree, His Highness is hereby commissioned as Colonel of the Imperial Reiksguard, and shall be obeyed and regarded in all matters military with the full respect and recognition due to that rank. All soldiers, knights, and officers of the Empire are commanded to render him the honour and obedience appropriate to his station. In solemn return, His Highness has accepted the responsibilities and obligations of his new office, swearing service to the Emperor, to the people of the Empire, and to the eternal glory of Mankind. 8. The Empire Reiksmarshal sat at his his desk late into the night, as he always did but today was different no ink smudged just hands no paper cuts marked his fingers his simply stared blankly at the wall in front of him. How? How has this been the result of such a great victory? How had he lost in such short order one whom he put so much stock and faith in? Manfred would get no sleep that night the many candles in his offices burning away until, Manfred decided to spend the rest of the knight by the small chapel in the garrison doing the only thing of worth he could thinking of. He prayed and prayed for the soul of Sirius, they had not been friends in the traditional sense but the loss hurt Manfred more than he had expected.
  9. Issued and averred by the office of the LORD MARSHAL FORMATION OF THE GUARD ♜ On the Imperial Host of Man Be it known to all good men and true: the Imperial Guard stand as the unyielding pillar and eternal aegis of the Empire of Man. Within its vaunted ranks dwell the finest sons of the realm—soldiers of iron will and peerless discipline—whose steadfast hearts shield mankind from the malice of Iblees and the ceaseless threats of mortal adversaries. This host, glorious and resolute, was not fashioned by fortune's whim, but born of the very essence of the Empire’s founding—an heirloom of battle, refined through loyalty, and tempered by the burden of vigilance. The Empire, born in the fires of great tribulation, may not endure save through the ever-burning flame of watchfulness. Thus it is decreed: whosoever should take up the mantle of an Imperial Soldier must sign a contract of fealty to the Empire and Imperial Guard. From that solemn hour, he is bound to uphold Imperial Peace, to execute the Emperor’s will without hesitation, and to serve both as sentinel within the walls of civilisation and scourge to those who dare assail it from without. Unlike its noble predecessor, the Royal Burgundian Army—born of necessity and conflict—the Imperial Guard was not summoned by calamity, but by vision. In the fullness of his wisdom and sovereign will, His Imperial Majesty, Tiberius the First, first of that name and Founder of the Restored Empire of Man, beheld a future greater than any single kingdom might contain. No longer would His Majesty's host be a mere royal levy of Burgundy, but a force of empire: unified, exalted, and eternal. By Imperial Decree, the honorable Ser Manfred von Berkhoven, First of the Marshal’s was raised to the honourable title of Reiksmarshal of the Empire, and under his command, the Royal Army was Elevated. Thus was born the Imperial Guard—a host not of haste and patchwork, but of order, discipline, and enduring strength. Its soldiers, henceforth styled the Imperial Guard(Reiksguard), stand as the mailed fist of Imperial law, guardians of peace and justice throughout all the Emperor’s dominions. Side by side with the Imperial State Troops of the Empires vassals, they maintain the harmony of the realm, swift to answer the call of war, yet steadfast in the preservation of order. By Faith, Steel, and Gunpowder we serve! ON THE RANKS OF THE IMPERIAL GUARD The army is built upon a foundation of clear order and noble purpose, each rank a step along the ladder of honour and service. ♟ Freeman (Gefreiter): A volunteer in His Majesty’s service, armed and armored by the Crown. These men are expected to drill and train with fervor until such time as their worth is proven, and they may be elevated to the ranks of the full soldiery. ♟ Guardsman (Trabant): The steadfast bulk of the army, having mastered the basic arts of war and discipline. They stand ready for most duties, so long as a guiding hand remaineth near. ♟ Young Guard (Jung Garde): A veteran of tested mettle, skilled in campaign and garrison alike. Such a man is self-reliant and capable, able to resolve matters without need of command. From this rank, worthy men may be chosen to bear the mantle of officer. ♟ Forlorn Hope (Unternehmen): First into the breach, and last to quit the field — thus is writ the cruel covenant of the Imperial Vanguard, the Forlorn Hope of The Empire. These are men once numbered amongst the proud Footmen of the Imperial Guard, hardened by the rigours of war. Few seek their company, for joy and mirth are strangers to their countenance. They speak not of idle fancies, nor dally in camply cheer — for theirs is a trade of thunder and fury, and their reward is survival, naught more. ♟ Old Guard (Alte Garde): These are soldiers of unmatched loyalty and service, who have either declined the path of command or lived in days where none such were available. Though they are not knights, these men are revered as heroes of the realm, and may, if need be, stand in place of the Emperor’s own Guard. At this rank, special duties—scribes, runners, heralds—may also be assigned. In recognition of their honour, they are granted a personal sigil and a small farming estate, both reward and legacy. ON THE JUNIOR OFFICERS OF THE ARMY The command of the army is borne by officers, whose authority groweth with experience and merit, and who guide the host with both might and mind. ♞ Corporal (Korporal): The first of the officer class. These are men proven in duty and judgment, granted command o’er a troupe of three to five. They patrol, they guard, and they ensure order across the realm. ♞ Staff Officer (Stabsoffizier): Often drawn from the ranks of Corporals, these officers have talents not solely martial. They assist in administration and coordination, working closely with higher command, though they too may command troupes as needed. ON THE SENIOR OFFICERS OF COMMAND The senior command of the army is raised by militant leadership who will take over the general larger day-to-day runnings and wartime efforts, most being in direct contact with the higher government bodies such as the privy council in order to prepare for decisions that rely on summoning the royal host. ♝ Captain (Hauptmann): This title is often borne by knights and seasoned commanders, for it demanded wisdom, leadership, and mastery of arms. These officers lead men in battle, orchestrate maneuvers, and oversee complex operations. They may command all troupes gathered by their own hand but may not summon the army in full without leave from the Lord Marshal. At times, they are also tasked with overseeing great labours—mining, land-clearing, or the provisioning of the host. ♝ Colonel (Oberst): Masters of warfare and stewards of the army’s soul. These officers may summon the army to arms without prior leave, and are entrusted with the training, development, and preservation of the host in times of peace and war. Appointment to this honour is conferred only with the consent of both His Majesty and the Lord Chancellor, or the Emperor himself. ON THE MASTER ROLES ♜ Quartermaster (Quartiermeister): A steward of war and keeper of the host’s lifeblood, the Quartermaster serves not with sword, but with scale and scroll. By the hand of the Quartermaster provisions are weighed, arms distributed. Though often behind the line, this wisdom sustains the march as surely as steel wins the field. ♜ Master Scribe (Meisterschreiber): Bearer of quill and keeper of memory, the Master Scribe records the deeds of the Guard in ink. At the side of command, he transcribes the will of the Reiksmarshal and ensures that no order, honours or glories are missed. ♜ Master Herald (Meisterherold): Both artist and orator, the Master Herald is chosen for mastery of brush and parchment. The Master is Entrusted the honour of repaying the army’s debt to its veterans—by crafting for them noble sigils and colours, that their deeds may be borne by their house and remembered through the ages. ♜ Master of Beasts (Meister der Bestien): Keeper of hoof and horn, the Master of Beasts is steward to the Empire’s herds and steeds. The Master tendeth pastures, guardes the cattle, and ensure a steady bounty of mount, meat, and hide. ♜ Master of Musters (Meister des Musterung): Warden of the ranks, the Master of Musters oversees all matters of recruitment. Keeping the lifeblood of the Guard sustained, ensuring a steady levy of men to fill the lines. As well the master furnishes the Master Scribe and Quartermaster with names and records, that no sword be uncounted, nor contract unsigned. ON THE SUPREME COMMAND The highest military authority across the realm, hosting a seat in the privy council and undertaking the core roles of both a governor, councillor and military leader. ⚔︎ Marshal of The Empire of Man (Reiksmarshal): The singular commander of all The Empire of Man's forces, and the only soul empowered by the Emperor to summon the Provincial State Troops of the nation's vassals, in times of great peril. It is his solemn charge to maintain the army’s readiness, to keep it fed and armed, to oversee its training and discipline, and to ensure the Imperial State Troops of the realm are kept in strength and honour befitting the Crown. A CALL TO HONOUR To all who seek glory upon the field, to those who would shield the faithful and uphold the unity of mankind, let it be known: the Imperial Guard calls thee to arms. Make thyself known to any soldier of the Host, and thou shalt be brought before an officer. Or send a bird to Manfred von Berkhoven (Irishmanmichael), Jürgen von Rhoswald (Petsch2k), or Richard von Rhoswald (Ketof). Let thy faith be proven in action. 10. Manfred went to admire the new missive from the Lord Commander of Numendil. "I shall have to go meet this man that organized a nation of knight to enter the field!"
  11. Issued and averred by the office of the LORD MARSHAL Hear all, know that by the word of the Imperial Guard, in virtue and as proxies of the Emperor himself, that the individual known henceforth as Jan Radek of Adria is to be arrested on sight by any and all military levies if seen within the encompassing imperial states, to be detained and brought to the Imperial Guard for the crimes of: ✠ Insulting the name of the Imperial Family, including that of the Emperor himself, doing so in the presence of high-authorities. ✠ Spreading libel in order to cause tensions between the Imperium, thus breaching the Emperor’s peace purposely, sowing dissent amongst the peers of the Empire. ✠ Impersonating the blood of the Hound, by wearing the plates of the House van Aert, without due connection, consent or shedded blood and using it to dishonour the House van Aert name. If he is to resist arrest, he may be freely killed, so long as his corpse is returned to the Imperial Guard. The powers of arrest do not encompass the Kingdom of Númendil, where the accused may remain free so long as he does not step foot into the imperial state's soil, which also encompasses Lemon Hill, and thus the Holy See. The imperial guard is not to enter any territories of the Kingdom of Númendil in order to enact an arrest either. His freedom in exterior lands is a sign of mercy, lest the known individual Jan Radek willingly submit himself to the mercy of the Emperor. The individual is known for sporting a muddy green headband, black hair, greenish eyes, heartlander complexion, either adorning the House van Aert plates, but last seen wearing a feathered helmet with a golden lining, a chestplate flagged in red bearing a white avian’s crest, the armour itself being in light complexion and not the same as the House van Aert. However, this individual is known and easy to identify. Harboring this criminal in any of the imperial states will lead to strict punishment and action from the Imperial Guard, and the Imperial Order of the Red Dragon. PURPLE - Imperial States [ARREST ON SIGHT] RED - Kingdom of Númendil [DO NOT TOUCH]. AVE IMPERIUM! 12. The Reiksmarshal breathed a sigh of relief as the crown confirmed the rules of the mutually agreed conflict between the two lords, hopefully it will mean less paperwork on his desk.
  13. "Fur Gott und Kaiser." Manfred declared simply at the news, while he at the declaration.
  14. THE ARMY GOES NORTH FROM THE DESK OF THE LORD MARSHAL A heavy dim could be heard coming from the courtyard of the capitals garrison! ✠ Missives: The Stirring of Northern Peril ✠ It had scarce been a month since the great wagon trains ceased their solemn procession into the capital—laden with the spoils, wounded, and weary from the Balian campaign—when the realm turned once more to the rhythms of peace. The vassal levies, their duty fulfilled, were dismissed to hearth and hall, and the banners of Burgundy furled in the still air of respite. Within the austere halls of the Marshal’s keep, where war’s echo had not yet faded, the Lord Marshal and his tireless Quartermaster, Jürgen, toiled long into candlelit hours. With quill and tally-stick they accounted the dead, the coin spent, and the debts owed to sword and saddle. The lists were grim, yet honest—a soldier’s ledger of sacrifice and state. But peace is a fleeting guest. No sooner had the ink dried than a courier, mud-streaked and breathless, arrived bearing a sealed letter, accompanied by a Royal Mandate, its wax unbroken, yet heavy with portent. The letter, upon being read, struck the Marshal like scalding tea spilled within the cuirass—a sudden heat beneath the cold iron of duty. Its author: Lord Whitewood of Silasia. Its content: dire. The northern marches of the fledgling nation stood imperiled. A host of ill-repute—brigands, landless sell-swords, and vagabond veterans left adrift by waning wars—had taken up arms and threatened to breach the border. No banner they bore but greed; no law did they heed but hunger. Thus was Burgundy called again—not by trumpet’s call, but by ink and seal. And once more, the sword would leave its sheath ✠ Preparation ✠ Manfred, son of Burgundy, he who bore the King’s burden as Marshal of the Royal Host, did not delay. Hastening to the window of the great tower, he cast open the shutters and, with a voice of thunder, did calld his Captain in the courtyard below. “Limber the cannon! Bring forth the stores of powder and steel! The King and Imperator has called us to aid Silasia!” Without delay, he returned to his desk, and there he set his quill to parchment with unrelenting fury. Missives by the dozen flew forth under his seal, dispatched to every outpost, hamlet, and bastion where the King’s soldiers took their ease. “Return to arms,” he bade them, “for the realm is endangered, and thy promised leave must be forsworn in the hour of peril.” Even as the letters took flight by hand and hoof, Manfred descended to the hall with clattering. Supplies were rerouted, rations measured, and wagons readied with the precision of a man born in war. Though the returning wagons of the southern campaign gave him a modest head start, he knew full well it would require two months to muster a force fit to scour the North of its villainy. And so, by candlelight and with grim resolve, did he pen one final letter—its words meant the lord he knew would have to hold by himself till he could arrive ✠ Reply ✠ Baron, Your message has reached me, and know this—your call for aid has stirred the hearts of the Royal Army. By decree of His Majesty, the host is once more to be raised, and preparations are now underway to recall our soldiers and ready the necessary stores of war. Yet, as you are well aware, such efforts take time. Men must return from leave, arms and provisions must be gathered, and the wagons of supply made fit for the road. I ask that you hold your ground until we arrive. Rally your people. Arm them with whatever tools may be found—be it sword, spear, or scythe. Deny the enemy the bounty of your fields if you must, and raise such defenses as may be built in haste. You must endure, and in doing so, you shall grant us the time needed to come to your aid. I myself shall ride ahead of the army with all speed, bringing what arms and armor I can muster. Though I cannot name the exact day of my arrival—for safety demands discretion—expect me within the month. You will not stand alone. Hold fast, and may God keep you. In service to Crown and Country, Manfred von Berkhoven •• ━━━━━ •• ✠ •• ━━━━━ •• ✠ The Rallying of the Host at the Capital ✠ Where once the garrison bustled with the chatter of dismissal and the quiet joy of soldiers soon to return home, the air was now split by the sharp peal of bells and the bark of sergeants. Thousands of men, who but moments ago stood in line to be discharged or granted leave, were swiftly corralled into ranks anew. Notices bearing the Marshal’s seal were nailed to posts and gates, and the weapons they had only just laid down were returned to their grasp. Amidst this confusion stepped forth Lord Manfred von Berkhoven, the Marshal of Burgundy, mounting a barrel to address the sea of warriors before him. His voice, clear and thunderous, rang out over the courtyard. “Soldiers of Burgundy!” he called, “I know ye are wearied—I know full well that many among you have already bled, and have lost kith and kin in service to Crown and Country. I know it is no small thing to ask more of you still. Yet ask I must. For now, our fellow countrymen in the North, under the Lord of Silasia, are beset by curs and scoundrels—rogues who, for greed alone, have taken up arms against the innocent. The Lord hath called for our aid, and the honour of Burgundy demands we answer. I shall not compel the unwilling—no man shall be forced to take up the sword again if his heart is set elsewhere. But I shall go. I shall ride forth, and I hope to see again the banners that once charged great walls by my side in our southern campaigns. And to those of you who stand here, young and tested, who lacked age or training in wars past—your time is now. Come forth and stand for your homeland. Take up the slack left by fallen heroes, and write your own name in the annals of glory! Come! Enlist now—to defend your country, and to win renown everlasting!” With that, the Marshal stepped down amidst the roar of answering voices and made his way within, to the chamber of war, where the planning of campaign had already begun. •• ━━━━━ •• ✠ •• ━━━━━ •• A CALL TO HONOUR BURGUNDY is under attack from mountain brigands so join the ranks and come to serve your fellow man and King!Make thyself known to any soldier of the Host, and thou shalt be brought before an officer.
