[Ooc]Suggestions And Feedback For The Orcs!(Yolo Everyone Else Is Doing It)

I have looked at the threads for other races on what the server wants to see from them. This is very mature, all of us trying to work together to fix our problems. So now, I ask you guys to voice your opinion on how to improve the orcs. I do not want to see anyone say anything about removing Blah or obscene changes to our culture, but if you have solutions to problems you see, feel free to share. This is not a place to rant about your recent death to an orcish raiding party or to troll. Keep is classy.

Orcs should be more... Orcish. More crude, less rational. I see orcs that just go and have pleasant conversations with the pinkies. I feel that a general hatred to other races from orcs would make or more fun to RP as/with.

Well, my character was recently talking to Gronkk and Elphaba about a Festival of Krug. I still need to mention it to you IC, VonAulus, but it would hopefully serve as a cultural revival for the orcs. I think the main problem the orcs are facing is that all we do is war/raid. We need more cultural and every-day-life rp, so the orcs can have something else to do besides raid. Also, I think more people need to understand that the blah is easy. People get scarred off by it, because they think it's hard, but it's really just about phonetic spellings with a few words from Tolkien's Black Speech thrown in. So, I think it would be helpful to make sure people know that when they read orc lore. But, that's just a side note. Like I said, I think we just need more cultural rp going on. We DON'T need to really change the culture, we just need to start rp'ing it. Orc culture is already cool, it just gets ignored too much. Sharing epic life stories around the bonfire, or a big scaddernak hunt every now and again wouldn't hurt. We just need SOMETHING going on. People aren't playing as orcs because nothing ever happens these days except an occasional war, and all wars do is bring out the one-day orcs. Also, maybe the shamans should get more involved in the public sphere. More public rituals could be cool to show the orcs' spiritual side. I'm personally just tired of the common response to orc boredom being "Lez gu raydun!" We NEED to show people that we're deeper than that. Anyways, sorry if my post seems a little scatter-brained, but I think you get the basic idea of what I'm saying

I think the orcs need to think about what made them create an orc in the first place, and compare it to what the new players want. Looking from there if they're meeting the needs of their players as well as expanding their rp horizons.

I certainly agree that orcs (even my char, from time to time) are getting a little soft on the pink-skins. Though we're already doing a lot of plundering and raiding, the general disdain towards the other races seems to be fading. So, I wouldn't necessarily suggest more plundering, because raiding is pretty much all the orcs do anymore, but more general hatred would certainly help orc rp.

No but seriously, whatever the Orcs are doing now is fine. You guys have really shot out of the dark and established a great community. Just keep doing what you're doing.

I'd like to see some orc RP that doesn't involve beheading/disemboweling. I do understand that the orcs are a violent and war-like people, but so far every orc I have met has tried to behead me and eat my organs, and to be honest it is just becoming a bit repetitive and boring.

Try to come up with some new and interesting RP!

I think Catarhh honestly put it best, and that is something Grool and I have been working to amend. We have a decent number of Orcs that are around, we have a good RP center in Gronkkston and we have supplies. The only problem is that we have stopped roleplaying, mostly because a good majority of the active Orcs are veterans; we've spent so much time together in Teamspeak shouting at each other that it's not as exciting roleplaying with each other. We need to get online, talk to each other in roleplay rather than in TS, and roleplay. We don't have edgies (except for Hellfiazz), we don't have excessive crime, new players can walk in and feel safe if the orcs decide not to kill them. 

 

We're doing a hunt this weekend, in an attempt to shake things up a little.

I'd have to side with seeing more cultural; while general hate disdain for the pinkies and all that it will get old/boring and the High elves have the culturally refined disdain; after the 50th orc who goes all "Hate all other races" would be cliche. Rather I'd think Orc's should hate those that are weak, the culture seems to favor those who are strong, no matter your birth if you are strong, fight strong, and act strong you are deemed strong.

 

Finally again, more culutral and spiritual side, I am semi interested in orcish RP at times, but the pure PvP side of it shuns me away from ever taking a gander at it

Quite a few us, myself included are more than willing to RP if you ask politely or don't make a huge fuss of it, Some of us actually enjoy RP more than PvP.

 

However, I also think we need to focus more on the culture. That would be preferable. More spirit celebrations.

Well, as I mentioned earlier, my character suggested and has been asked by Gronkk to organize a festival. I still wanna run this past Grool IC to make sure enough of the higher ranking orcs are aware of/ ok with this, but I've got a few plans brewing for it. I had kizumachan help me out with the planning as well. So far, we're thinking feasting, tournaments and religious rituals. If anyone has any ideas that they think would be good for this kind of festival, feel free to PM me (Don't clutter up VonAulus' topic; It would be rude). Anyways, I'm hoping it will reinvigorate the orc community. Also, thanks for making this topic, VonAulus. I've been waiting for someone to finally speak up about the current state of orc rp.

It would also help the Orc race if Mining fatigue was removed from Nexus PvP, lots of the orcs no longer play because of it.
