Farren lets out a long sigh as he glances towards the gathered crowd. His face contorting into a frown as he approaches the crowd, waiting for his turn. With one hand gripping firmly on his coin purse, the other tapping impatiently upon his armour .Muttering his question silently over and over to himself as he waits.

"W'ut will become ov meh people? More importantleh ov me clan in tu future?"

What will becomes of my people? More importantly of my clan in the future?

Stanislavistan begins to cry loudly, demanding his question be answered next.

Pern looks toward the strange, loudly wailing man in the duck pajamas. She slowly picks up her beer stein and chugs the last of her drink. Sufficiently liquored up, she points at the chair across from her. "Dry your eyes, sir. Dry your eyes. Have a seat, if you like," she says. "I'll...see if I can find a reason for this holy ascension in my cards." She looks down at her deck, letting out a deep sigh. She glances up at the duck pajama'd man once again. Where did he even get those pajamas in the first place? They looked pretty comfy, though. Pern remembers her lack of comfortable pajamas and gazes down at the table mournfully.

She lays out her cards in the usual cross pattern. "I am...not familiar with the things you are talking about," she admits. "But I will tell you what the cards mean and you can decide if they make sense or not." She glances at his duck pajamas again. What are they made out of? Wool? Cotton? Pern makes a mental note to visit a tailor later.

Pern flips the first card, revealing an image of a person with angel wings. "This card tells me about the general situation surrounding the ascension. It tells me about moderation. You need to be moderate in all things - spiritual, physical, and emotional moderation. Giving into excess might make the holy ascension more difficult."

"The obstacle you face is overconfidence. You must approach the ascension with modesty and caution. If you rush into it, you will fail and things will fall apart. Too much confidence is just as bad as too little confidence."

"The third card shows me your feelings. You are full of optimism and good cheer. You think the ascension will go well. And I, uh...I'm not sure what else to say, since I'm not sure what you're really asking about." Pern smiles apologetically.

"The fourth card, which represents your past, shows me that you have a history of loss and damage. A sad history, I take it. But hopefully, the ascension will wipe away all the bad things in your past."

"The fifth card - the present card - carries a warning about being too hasty. As I said, you must not be overconfident and rush into things. I think this holy ascension is a very delicate and important process, so you must take care to treat it with the seriousness that it deserves."

"Your final card - your future card - tells me of a great success. If you are careful and treat the ascension with great respect, everything will turn out just fine."

Pern gathers up her cards and gives the young man a confused smile. If she read the cards wrong, he might burst into tears again. "I like your pajamas," she says finally, hoping to keep him pacified. "They look soft and warm."

Sherria had been watching for some time. Seems like something fun to do~ Carver, on the other hand, feels as though this is some sort of scam. Eh, no matter, it doesn't cost anything, so what the Nether. She shuffles into the line, patiently waiting for her turn.

"....U-um..." she squeaks meekly once she's at the front, bowing her greeting to the woman. "....I-I... W-w-what does... m-my future h-hold for me...?" She shifts her gaze down, going a little red, knowing her question is kinda vague.

Jonathan observes line of people gathering with some amusement as he contemplates getting his fortune told. "Oh what the hell" he mutters to himself as he joins the cue, politely waiting for his turn. When it eventually becomes his turn

He smiles at Pern "Shouldn't be hard to guess why i'm here~ So what does my future hold" he pauses for a moment before adding "And i'm somewhat interested in the power of these cards of yours. But for now, i'm interested as to what they say about me" he smiles once again before waiting for her response

Pern looks to the man with the spectral fish. "Very impressive magic, my friend. Perhaps you would like to go next?"

Art quickly dispels the 'illusion' and turns to her. "I was not showing off. But in any case...I woud like to know my greatest mistake. When will it come and how will it be made?"

Pern laughs. "I already did yours, my friend. Someone wasn't paying attention."

Oropher frowns at Stanilavistan's crying as he looks to Pern. "When you are done with the others, I have a question. Will I ever be truly safe?" He says, brushing his hand against the scars on his face.

"Your question will come next, I think," she says, gesturing to Oropher. "Safety is everyone's wish, I think. Let's see what the cards have to say." Pern shuffles the cards together and deals them out in her usual manner. The six cards lay face down on the table. She moves her fingers to the first card at the heart of the spread. She turns the first card over, revealing its cryptic message. "Hm. This card tells me that many obstacles and restraints are blocking your path. Something deadly stands in your way and you desire to avoid it."

"This second card will tell me the nature of these obstacles. It seems...a lack of insight is to blame. You do not have the insight you need to overcome the situation you are in," Pern says. "You need to look deeper, I think, if you wish to overcome the obstacles in your way."

"The third card lets me look into your feelings. It tells me that you are going through a lot of involuntary suffering. You have committed some kind of misdeed...or perhaps you are being punished for something you cannot help."

"The fourth card reveals your past. It tells me of a...complex person or a complex relationship. A relationship clogged by complicated feelings and complex thoughts. I wonder, is this the person who is causing you to suffer now?"

"The fifth card speaks of your present. You are afraid of your enemies. They are closing in on you. You are surrounded by opponents and they are putting you on edge."

"The sixth card, your future card, reveals to me your ultimate fate. It tells me of...willpower. It tells me that if your willpower is strong enough, you will overcome all the barriers in your path."

Pern gathers up the cards and inclines her head. "I hope that helps."

Fumble squirms through all the legs off the bigguns, easily doing so with his tiny halfling child size, tears on his cheeks,

Seth steps into the line aswell, holding his fine iron staff with a hawk's face on the top, as he finaly gets his turn at some point he would speak with a very calm voice as he was attempting to keep his feelings of what he is doing is a waste of time.

"Please tell me of the relationship with my daughter and my grandchild. How will it be in the future and will they be raised well?"

Sherria looks around at the growing numbers, instinctively slinking away into a less obvious spot. She's a patient woman. She can wait. She pulls out a knife and a small slab of wood, deciding to pass the time with some carving.

Pern smiles at the tiny halfling. She reaches into her pocket and offers him a handkerchief. "Please do not cry, my little friend," she says softly. "Be patient and I will get to your question right after I read for this dwarf." She pats the halfling gently on the head and turns to her next customer - the muttering dwarf.

Farren lets out a long sigh as he glances towards the gathered crowd. His face contorting into a frown as he approaches the crowd, waiting for his turn. "W'ut will become ov meh people? More importantleh ov me clan in tu future?"

What will becomes of my people? More importantly of my clan in the future?

"If I understand your question correctly, you wish to know the fate of your people and your clan. That is a noble thing to ask. It warms my heart to see people asking unselfish questions," Pern says as she lays out his spread of cards. She moves her hand to the first card at the center of the spread. With a single, deft movement, she flips it. "This card tells me the basis of the situation. It tells me that, in the past, your people have made some kind of error. They have made a costly mistake and that mistake must be paid for. Perhaps that is why your people are suffering. Mistakes, after all, must be atoned."

"The second card tells me the obstacle your people will face. It tells me of...a person. A ruler." Pern glances up at the dwarf, her eyebrows raised. "This leader is a poor leader. He falls prey to favoritism and poor judgement. His nepotism will lead your people and your clan into ruin. Take care to identify this person, my friend. Make sure he never makes it into power. If he is already in power, well...you must get rid of him or doom will follow."

"The third card tells me of your feelings. You see obstacles and enemies everywhere. Your fear for your people's futures. No matter how you try to move forward, something is always standing in your way."

"The fourth card tells me of the past. In the past, your clan and your people were wealthy and strong. Since then, they have fallen into poverty. They require assistance, but perhaps they are too proud to ask for it."

"The fifth card tells me of your present. You feel paralyzed by your situation. You fear that your clan and your people will never regain the majesty they once possessed. That fear stops you in your tracks. Recovery, to you, seems impossible."

"The final card is your future," Pern says. She flips it slowly. "You must proceed with caution. Your path is, indeed, lined with obstacles. Rash decisions will lead to mistakes. You must work slowly to achieve your clan's former glory. Do not let fear or impatience cloud your judgement."

Art rises quickly from his seat, expression cold.

"You've not told me anything, contrary to your claim. Nor do I think you intend to."

He paces off before waiting for a reply. perhaps his pride had been hurt.

Blake looks across the counter behind the bar. And looks at the strange woman doing tarot cards before speaking

"Do me next when ye 'ave te chance miss. Me question is what will come of me life. If I will do anythin' grand.. Also, if I 'ave a shot with ye comin' to me home."

Blake has a somewhat crooked wink twitching as he tries to get his left eye down but sighs as it fails and leans back behind the counter waiting for more customers.

Fumble squirms through all the legs off the bigguns, easily doing so with his tiny halfling child size, tears on his cheeks,

"Will pa eva' come back?"

Pern skips straight ahead to the crying halfling child. She motions for him to climb into the chair across from her. "Go on, little one," she says. She bows her head to her other customers. "Apologies, my friends. But I cannot ignore a crying child. I hope you will excuse me." Once the child halfling is safely in the chair, she shuffles her deck and deals out his spread. Because her customer is only a child, she simplifies the spread for him. She lays out three cards instead of the usual six. "Maybe these cards can tell me a little bit about your papa. They will tell me about your past, present, and the future." She indicates each card, left to right, as she mentions them. She rests her hand on the first card.

"This card will tell me about the past - your past and your papa's past." She flips the card. On it, there is an image of two wolves howling at the moon. "It tells me that you and your papa loved each other very much. You followed your dreams and you had a very happy life together."

She moves her hand to the second card. "This tells me about your present - what is happening right now," she says. She flips the card. It depicts two people holding two cups. "This card tells me about love. It says that your papa still loves you very much. The bond between you and your pa is still very strong."

"This last card tells me about the future," she says, flipping the card. The card depicts a man with a pair of scales, sitting on a throne. "This card tells me that all the injustice will be fixed. All wrongs will be righted. I think this means that your papa will return home to you one day."

Pern gathers up her cards and lets out a long, tired sigh. "I hope that my prediction helps," she says, rising to her feet. "If you will forgive me, everyone, I am a little tired for today. However, I am thinking of opening a fortune telling shop here in New Malinor. If you wish to have your fortune read, I hope I will have a place for you soon."

((Going to close this thread for now. I am doing these Tarot readings in real time with my own deck and they are really time consuming. I hope you all don't mind.))
