Earth 2351 A.D

The people of the world are anxious, ready to rise again from the ashes of the old civilizations. New factions have formed from the rubble, poised to take control of what few resources are left. The global population is a humble 500,000,000, only a fraction of the seven billion that once dominated the planet. Disease and

In Europe, the British Isles are all but isolated, clouds of radiation drifting over the isles from almost a dozen nuclear warheads detonating in the region during the Last War. These clouds sometimes drift over mainland Europe, causing brutal winters and strange cancerous mutations of disease to sprout up on the continent. Harvests are dire and the people of Europe struggle to maintain stable populations, very few factions are able to thrive in the region. Most of the Northern and Mediterranean coastlines were devastated by The Weapon.

Asia is facing hardships similar to those in Europe, however radiation levels are much lower because of the preparedness of the region for a nuclear war. Much of the Chinese coastline is devastated. Water in the Japanese islands, as well as most of the East Indies is beginning to recceed, revealing new islands as well as wondrous ruins. Most of the world's population lives in India, nearly 200,000,000 people dominate the subcontinent in groups of warring tribes, making conquest of the region by outside powers incredibly difficult.

Africa still prospers, its large coasts largely preventing major flooding in most regions, only Western Africa truly suffered from great flood. In the center of the continent old mines have rested untouched and open for harvesting by a faction capable of such. Wild game is beginning to repopulate, food resources plentiful. African nations would be in the best position to trade and grow.

The Americas both suffered greatly, most major cities on the coastline falling to the flood after the launch of the weapon. However, further inland animals and greenery are beginning to come back, small pockets of radiation where nuclear weapons were managed to be detonated dot the two continents. However, the Americas suffer from a rather unique problem. The United States CDC held various samples of diseases that had been wiped out, and most of the region suffers from diseases such as Polio, Malaria, Smallpox, and Influenza. This makes the populations of these continents at a small growth rate because of the constant disease.

Antarctica is an interesting, untapped resource. It holds strange new lands, as a result of global warming that continued through the early stages of the war, new pockets of livable, temperate land sit untouched on the fringes of the continent. It is expected these resources could be extremely valuable to those who find them.

Stuff to know:

1.)When expanding, there will be other, NPC factions to deal with which I will be controlling along with other mods.

2.)Everybody starts out on the same general tech level, none of the previous technology from the old thread exists

3.)Ruins can be found in old cities inland, possibility of finding books or research that lead to new tech is possible so send out scavengers

4.)No researching new tech, all tech will come from ruins until page 30 (maybe), things you can research are new designs of weapons, manufacturing, bullets, etc. (nothing high-tech)

City State of the Blessed Sun

It was common folklore that the small town of Newfolk, Illinois, had been blessed. During the Great Calamity, it seemed that almost every major weapon of mass destruction had evaded the area, and the region was miraculously saved. Of course, the smarter people of the community knew that it had only happened because the one great city of Chicago had been a much greater target than a small county of potato growers. That didn't stop the radiation, though. After nearly 250 years, the land was determined good enough to be harvested and cultivated. Of course, some of the crops still contained elements of uranium, and it wasn't rare for  a family to die of radiation poisoning.

The city state was a republic, where all landowners could choose their leaders. A communal militia had been established twenty years after the founding of the City, when a group of bandits had raided the area. Nearly three hundred villagers took up old tools and stormed the bandit cave, killing nearly twenty of them and reclaiming important prizes. These included nearly 50 automatic AK-47's, along with two Humvees and one Styker. These are kept in the communal armory, to be used when the need arises.

Of course, the community wasn't a small group of villagers anymore, and had evolved into an actual state. Conflict with the Confederacy of Estri to the west and the tribe of nomads living to the south had expanded territory and allowed for greater production of crops. While the confederacy had been crushed, the nomads would come back every now and then, wrecking havoc on the borders.

With a total population of 950,000 people, the City state was no longer a small county to be messed with. There were three coal mines, two iron mines, and most importantly, five lead mines. The main armament of the militia were home made muskets, crafted by the gunsmiths of the city. The elder of the area, a man who's lived an extraordinary 78 years speaks of the areas farther West and South. Apparently, one of his distant ancestors had been a general or politician of some sort of Federation. Maybe, their could be some sort of thing to learn about those people, if not, technology to be salvaged.

Only the future will tell.

The Sons of Arminius

It was quiet in the capital of Heidelberg, Governor Arminius looked out over the town, largely untouched from the war. The Neckar River hugging both sides of the city, flowing gently through the small settlement. The Governor was proud of his city, a true gem in the darkness of Europe. Twice had he dealt with a Cholera outbreak in the past decade, then a nuclear winter stalled progress on the city's first manufactory, which was now being built on the north side of the city.

zQkOWRj.jpg

He turned, behind him on the wall is his pride and joy, the SA-3, the rifle which he himself helped design with his best researchers. It is now standard issue to the First Legion, the only thing similar to a standing army that the country had. It is made up of roughly 50,000 warriors, mostly armed with weapons scavenged from ruins of the Old Empire in the north and abandoned weapon factories in the East.

dgzUrLA.jpg

(The SA-3)

On the established border with the surrounding factions, small deer stands are erected in order to watch the borders, roughly 15,000 of the First Legion watch the border constantly, another 10,000 patrols Heidelberg, and the rest are spread out throughout the boundaries of the Republic. Several scouts are sent beyond the Alps, trying to find more rifles in the ruins of the Old Empire. Three helicopters sit ominously in Heidelberg, awaiting fuel before being sent out to scout the old French territories. Hopefully fuel will be found in the Italian cities.

The Lost Tribes of Australia.

                                                                                        torres_strait_islanders_flag.jpg

The aboriginal countries had suffered from the war, but had perservered. After all, what was 300 years to a culture that lasted 40,000?

When the small pockets of people came out into the world, and formed large tribes, they rapidly realized they needed to coexist, and so they did. The 58 Aboriginal countries would form the states of their land, and from each of the 58, there would be one representative per state that could vote for a leader who would rule for life.

The newest leader, is Aaron Lopol, a man in his Mid 30s, was a strong supporter of Australia's main product, that had let them live in one of the harshest countries in the world, a country with animals of many kinds that had many kinds of weapons to defend themselves. A priority they naturally chose was medicine. Australia had duplicated many old medicines and cures, including vaccines over the years. Traditional medicines were taught to children, to help them survive in the world.

Australia scavenged Rifles from the many factories that had been used during the Last War, stockpiling them and forming small militias, which spent most of their time travelling into the lands beyond, recovering survivors and gathering resoursces. One of the new rulers first policies was that scavengers were to venture out into the vast distance and take as much as they could from the ruins, along with bringing any survivors back. Five parties of 100 had left recently, with unknown results.

They also ordered for, with the fuel they had, to send out boats to North America and New Zealand, in order to find other survivors. In order to preserve fuel, cars were only used by governing approved bodies, such as the militia, horses were abundant though, as they were used to drive cattle in the early days.

Australia continues to focus on Medical advances, though they have used the old factories to give to industrial workers, who are working on replicating many old guns, though this will be a long time from now with the minimal funding. ((10 pages))

For now, it was a quiet land, a land with a large Rural focus, the new milestone of 1 million citizens meant that it was a growing land, and a ready land, and for the first time, it was prepared to meet the nations out there. Very soon, with ships filled with medicines, guns and weapons, preparing for the good, the bad and the ugly of in the world.

((NOTE- Any American nation close to the west coast can say they've seen me and we can RP that out.))

The Texas Rangers

Jacob looked out on his Capital city of Dallas is was pretty quiet, mostly besides the factories and gun & blacksmiths making weapons and tools for the military.  With the constant threat of the Mexicans coming up through Texas to claim a stake in the United States Jacob always had his men patrolling. His guard force was the main people protecting the border this force the Rangers consisted of 15,000 men. Those men were armed with the best weapons which was a modified version of the M4 and some with a few Modified hunting rifles.

The Scavengers are sent towards Houston texas accompanied by 20 Rangers and 15 scavengers the ride in 5 humvees. Their goal is to find ammo and more fuel for the helicopter, gas mask and and medicine. The regular military is armed with muskets, swords and Bows and arrows.

The Forest Mounties: Interior of British Columbia

800px-Flag_of_the_Lieutenant-Governor_of

Vancouver is a flooded wasteland, the once beautiful coasts, lush rainforests and tourist attracting landscapes are now submerged under uninhabitable radiation polluted waters. Struggling, many coastal Canadians moved inland, to interior cities such as Kelowna, or Kamloops.

Even these cities are shadows of what they once were, now locked down under high makeshift walls and strictly quarantined in a desperate attempt to keep out the deadly diseases spreading throughout all the Americas.

In Kamloops, society is chaos. Those who can afford guns from the black market hold power, and those who can't are kept down, and often succumb to the sicknesses plaguing the land outside the cities. Life is grim. People depend on hunting local healthy wildlife for food, and poor attempts at farms, as crop turnout is never good in post nuclear Canada.

In a chaotic city one group attempts to hold order. A group of lawmen sentimentally known as the Neo-Mounties. Named after a time when BC had stability and laws.

Sebastien Shen is a Deputy Commander of the Neo-Mounties, and armed with knifes, pistols and their symbolic red coats, they patrol the lawless streets of Kamloops, attempting to stop illegal gun dealers, kick out those infected by disease, or anything else to protect the Western Canadian People.

Kamloops: Population of roughly 340, 000

Neo Mounties: A Garrison of roughly 20, 000 people

Mounties are equipped with ak-47's, short hunting knifes and pistols, distributed unevenly due to shortage.

Electricity is rare and so is running water.

Brothers of Stalingrad

General Kislov walks throughout the city of New Stalingrad with his company of armed guards, its old name long forgotten. His men wear an outdated version of the old Russian Regime. The town is controlled by the military as the government is a version of Stratocracy which requires all government members to have post military training and service. Radios are in every house hold as daily speeches of equality and how their hard work and suffering will work towards a great Russian state once more. Their are no personal rights as Posters of the old Soviet Symbol are posted throughout the city with a common slogan "There is no I, There is only We!"

The city has a population of roughly 140,000 Civilians with some 40,000 people living in outer villages some miles outside the city.

Military Includes, 50,000 Infantry, 10 T-74, 2 Soviet Hinds.

Soldiers are equipted with the old fashioned Ak-47, Ak-74u and RPGs. Some Modern technology is still in possession such as Radios and encrypted comm channels. However this technology is strictly kept to the Military while its citizens live in a almost Cold War era lifestyle.

REINO DE NUEVO HAVANA

Life runs by the same rules on the Isles of the Caribbean. Survival means materials. Materials needs laborers. A community must be run like the deck of a ship, as any man in New Havana worth his weight in tobacco knows. There is one simple rule in the new kingdom. If you don't own it, you work it. Whether it is farm, plantation, or ship, every man has a place. For the vast majority, that place is herding sheep, cutting sugarcane, or swabbing a deck; for the great men of this new age, that place is guiding hundreds for their own good, for a captain always needs a strong arm.

The world of these people revolves around their shepherd, Rey Alfonso, whose will is carried out by landowners throughout the islands. Their small operations likewise revolve around life in Nuevo Havana, the capital of this grand nation where the fleet (if one could call it that) of anywhere between fifteen and thirty ships stay at harbor, depending on the loyalty of their captains at any one time. As diverse as the captains are, so are their ships, which range from newly made ragged wooden sloops to the four massive battleships salvaged from before the war doing little more than rust in the harbor.

If there is one thing to be known about Nuevo Havana, it is that to succeed here one must have deep pockets and a strong arm.

Their flag, meaning all but lost to the inhabitants of Hanford

The Dwellers of Hanford

Ah Hanford. Fun place, that... Partly responsible for the world today. It was one of the 3 sites used in the Manhattan project, among with 2 others that have been lost to time.

While Seattle fell quickly to the bombs, no one cared about the comparatively small trio of cities just south-east of it called the Tri-Cities. It was a group of cities, Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland. When the bombs fell across the state, the cities were disbanded and the inhabitants fled.

Well, mostly, that is.

Some stayed. While the population before the bombs was 750,000, it was about 200,000 300 years ago, in 2014. While a majority fled, enough stayed to keep it alive. Slowly, ever so slowly, men and woman either returned or found their way there, eventually enough people settling down there to rival these numbers. The last official census equated to roughly 215,000 people.

The inhabitants renamed the city with the sign they saw most commonly, which was Hanford. The original names of the cities are all but lost to a select few who not bother to speak it.

Many plains indians had lived in that area, back during the pilgrim age. As such, the inhabitants of Hanford but many things into practice used by them. Things such as Travois, and stone tomahawks, used to transport more items over longer distances if nothing else was available, or to use as a cheap close-ranged weapon or tool. Most men were also instructed on how to hunt with rather traditional methods, namely trapping or such methods that would not consume their already small supply of bullets.

One fairly uncommon comodity that was required for a Travois, however, are things such as tarps, burlap cloth, or other large pieces of useless cloth. They have been know to be very willing to trade with travelers that come through with such items.

There weren't many military bases there, but the tri-city area was very rural originally. As such, many inhabitants had a rifle or small pistol at least. Many took them with them however, and the number was reduced to 20,000 rifles and 10,000 pistols, about half without ammo. However, most everyone has found the time to fashion a crude tomahawk or spear.  A true wonder, there was a tank that was kept in the graveyard. With some effort, it works again, though they only have a small handful of rounds for the main cannon. Other than that, the only vehicles the military and government possess are a pair of armored trucks and pair of basic vans.

Since it's a rural area, it had very fertile soil before the bombs fell. They have 2 farms and 1 ranch, though the output of each isn't even half of what it was pre-war. They need not worry of irrigation however, as all of them were built just beside the Columbia river, a large river used for drinking water ((After the water is purified)), irrigation water, or for what few fish the inhabitants can manage to pull out of it.

They are cautious of outsiders, though not totally shutting them out. If you do come through, you will find the guards eye and watch you carefully, and should you enter the city, will be subject to a rather vigorous, but not perfect, search.

They are semi-militaristic, though simply lack the resources to fully become a more militaristic state. They hold no qualms with others, and hold more of a "Stay out of our way, we stay out of yours." mentality. They will willingly trade, though it will depend on what you bring to them.

The Honshu Republic

DBlTSxw.png

The first of the bunkers had finally opened when news that waters had receded reached leaders within. What they found was appalling, towns across the once legendary united nation that was know as Japan were warring with one another for resources. Not in close to a thousand years had Japan been in a state of hostility among its own citizens. However, even more surprising to the underground dwellers was the lack of technology. Not only were these warring regions lacking in supplies, but they were all under constant threat of famine. Determined to unite Japan under one ruler once more, Hisahito Ashikino set about with superior weaponry and supporters to back him.

Soon, all of the Honshu island fell under a single flag; the Japanese standard. Those that managed to hold back the forces of the Republic soon succumb to mass starvation, and eventually gave in, receiving the almost god like technology that had blessed the Republic; enriched agriculture. Work to restore the land had been forthcoming, with the first of many factories having been restored. Groups of explorers continue to find the ruins of the legendary cities of the storied Indo-Japanese Empire. Salvage teams comb through the waterlogged coastal ruins as well as inland areas for scrap and pre-war technology.

A small fleet of ragtag ships from before the Last Tribulation have been amassed, including smaller patrol vessels. The prize ship of the fleet, a destroyer, although somewhat renovated, is lacking in fuel. Rust has also effected the vessels, ranging from minor to catastrophic levels. These ships have been tasked with patrolling the shoreline, aiding salvage crews, and making contact with neighboring states. Korea and the island of Taiwan have begun small scale trade.

The population of Japan as a whole stands currently at an estimate of 2.2 million. The current population under the Republic is an estimated 1.8 million. The standing army maintains a soldier farmer status. Military supplies are generally kept at capacity, although ammunition has been pointed to as a needed supply. Factories are under way to attend to this situation.

The government as a whole is lead by a council of sorts, with the election council members being conducted every two years. Only five member's are permanent,  Hisahito and his Ministers. The military plays a rather key role, with more then half of council members being prominent military personnel.

All is well under the Republic's watchful gaze...

中国共产主义阵营

Hong Kong, 2351

As Xi Jingpin, retreated to Hong Kong since the nuclear alarms, had settled himself in the govermental facility in the centre. The Red Army  was half lost in the floodwave coming after, only a piece of Hong Kong remained. As Xi immidiatly took leadership in Hong Kong, and enforced heavier laws to the people living in it. In an eletrical monster with only some generators, As Xi had to find a way to build the generators on the coast.. On the new coast.

Order & Discipline was the moral of this faction, slowly turning Hong Kong into a military base. From the remnants of the old military base at the coast, road blocks & fortifications are being made. ((2 pages))

The Chinese Communist faction was large enough to have a functional military. However, many betrayed the faction when the nationalism was gone in China. A vast 400,000 citizens survived in Hong Kong. Though, the majority of 120,000 soldiers was in service.

CHINA_-_MILITARY_PARADE.jpg

The Hong Kong arsenal was promising, but As Xi was more worried about the common people. Seeing how a majority was military, starvation and imbalance would haunt those people. The Coastline was quite furtile, and As Xi orders a batallion of 40,000 to aid the citizens to construct farms with salvaged seeds from the abandoned mall's. Expected is that the first farms would appear soon with a bountyful harvest. ((6 pages for farms, every 2 pages a major harvest.))

The industry of HongKong was flooded with the islands, but As Xi wants to revive the old WW3 Factories more to the inland.A map is drawn, the blue line presenting the new 'sea'. Behind it there are swamped and ravashed areas, until Sha Tin & Tsue Wan. Up North rebels and an hostile faction make it unaccesable, war is imminent.

Highlands Tribe

666px-Flag_of_Western_Highlands.svg.png

Under the Radioactive cloud which is above the British isles, chaos have spread.
In Scotland most people fled to the highlands, in hope that the mountains would help them, they where partly correct.
A primitive wall was set with the highlands south border to the rest of Scotland, all south of the wall is now known in the highlands as the "The land which the cloud rules." The Scottish have lost most communication with the outside world, believing themselves as the only survivors of the British isles, or maybe perhaps the entire world.

All considered the Scottish have given the blame and almost destruction of the British isles to the Christian faith, and many say that the reason to the appearance of the cloud is because the old gods have punished the Scottish. The highlands has therefor returned to the Celtic beliefs, this time its more reformed though, but the old Celtic meals and cloth is found.
The capital of the highlands is Glasgow considered a new holy place for the Scottish due to it being the main outpost of the wall to the south.

The Scottish cried for a leader, a true king, and one which would show honor and remind them of the old times, mostly due to his last name king Charles Dunkeld was crowned.

Village_Celte.jpg

Today the people of the highlands is more calm them when "the gods punished" the current king is King George Dunkeld fourth of his name. The wall to the south is more robust now, and some brave people some times talk through it, yet nobody have ever returned.

The Celtic religion is now a de jure of the Highlands, and old Christian churches was renovated for the Celtic religion to use.

The Celtic system is not a total monarch controlled, the 5 elected dukes of the highlands has votes, that can sometimes force the king to either take action, or ignore action. The dukes are: duke of Orkney, duke of Aberdeen, Duke of Dundee, Duke of the Eastern Isles, Duke of Inverness.

Now 300 years after the cloud appeared more and more Scottish people are getting interested in the outside world. The old maps for the world before the cloud is found and studied. The Scottish are afraid the cloud may follow them, and perhaps spread disease to other nations, if there is any. for now the matter is still in debate.

Brothers of Stalingrad

The City State of Stalingrad goes well, save for the dwindling food supplies needed to feed the populace.

A conference is held in New Stalingrad's Capital building and the council has greatly suggested that the State should attempt to communicate with outside factions in an attempt to not only re-unite the Russian People, but hopefully stay in contact with factions of old allies, China, North Korea ect.

As of such, The Radio Tower is amplified as the Military begins sending signals out towards South East Asia primarily China in an attempt to communicate with surviving Factions.

Both Russian Helicopters are deployed with 40 Men to scout out Moscow in an attempt to find Supplies, Medicine, Ammo, Guns, and Survivors.

Farms are to be expanded in the out laying villages to bring in larger yeilds as they are currently below average and the populace suffers from food shortages. (4 pages)

Norway_Coat_of_Arms___redux_by_unExpecte

The New Norwegian Kingdom

After the worldwide floodings, the Norwegian government, like so many others, collapsed. The nation had fallen into chaos and rag-tag groups had fought for dominance of big regions of the country in guerrila-like warfare. Though as food and supplies began to ran out, the fighting had slowed and grinded into a halt, there was no need to kill anymore, for the people died in swarms by themselves from the unsanitary conditions and lack of food and other resources.

Though as the people entered a sort of renaissance as the conditions improved, they looked to a leader, someone who could lead them through the rebuilding of their nation, so that they could rise and live again as they once had in the "Golden Era", as had been nicknamed the 21st century, where the average European citizen's life had been filled with everything they might request, from endless electricity to low-cost global travelling aboard luxurious jets, flying over whole oceans in mere hours. This leader was found in the last heir to the Norwegian throne, a bloodline that had miraculously survived through a distant cousin of the last king, Harald V. He chose the name King Olav of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg VI. The Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksburg family is closely related to many of the previous European nations' monarchs, such as the Swedish, Belgish, Danish and English royal families, and although it is uncertain if any of these families or countries still exist, it is thought to be useful in future diplomatic negotiations.

The capital of the New Norwegian Kingdom is decided to be Bodø, because of it's protection due to various fjords and because of it's proximity to the massive Lofoten area, which not only houses vast resources of fish and sea creatures for food, but is rumored to have oil, though the knowledge of where to drill has been long lost since the end of the "Golden Age". Another reason is because of it being a major base for the Norwegian Armed Forces previously, and houses a nearby airbase which may prove to hide left behind military equipment. A rusty corvette also is anchored in the harbour, which will prove to be very useful.

Re-construction of the city begins, and King Olav VI orders the construction of a somewhat luxurious palace for himself, and there is plenty material and man power for it too. Almost everyone partakes in the construction, and the forests are bristling with trees after the long period of no human activity and plentiful water. King Olaf VI also sends out a scavenging party to the nearby airbase, and the corvette is loaded up with what fuel is available, the main transport being horses anyways, and is ordered to sail along the coast to Bergen, then Oslo, and then to look at the Swedish South coast. The navy's second ship, a small merchantile ship with some light cannons mounted on it, is set the task of heading to Iceland, to also scavenge and seek possible new allies and trade partners.

((I'm not sure how the scavenging works, so I'm just gonna ask you mods to decide if I find anything. Also, to Digital RPing Iceland, and Bickando RPing Sweden, if you want to RP spotting and meeting the Corvette and Merchantile ship, respectively, feel free to do so.))

REINO DE NUEVO HAVANA

Bareness. Entire cities lost to the sea. She was a harsh mistress to our people, and to our lands, but she gives generously to those who persevere. Though most of what we once had was taken by her, those of us who survive may feast on the water's bounty. Hordes of fish have returned to the warm and risen waters of the Caribbean, and they come just in time. With so few animals left on these barren isles, fish are the only source of meat available to us.

No, hunger is not the big problem on our islands, but rather, disease. Influenza, polio, brought by outsiders and mainlanders, they have infected our workers. Men and women die every day out in the sugarcane and inside our ships, and it is all the fault of the mainlanders. We cannot trust those who do not speak español, for they bring only destruction upon us. Unfortunately, we do require their assistance for one thing; power. There is no electricity on the islands outside of the radio tower, itself running only on salvaged pre-war fuel. We will begin expanding our sugar operation in the hopes that we may one day trade this luxury for fuel or power.

In such a light, Rey Alfonso has ordered a sloop, run by only the saltiest of sailors of course, be sent from Nuevo Havana into the Gulf of Mexico in hopes of contacting other people groups for trade and, if nothing else, the pursuit of knowledge.

¡Arriba Havana!
