Search&Rescue Resumed

       After the dreadful collapse of the Grand Gymnasium, seventeen denizens were expected dead, three of which are confirmed. Ordered strictly by Xanthur Touschnik himself, the debris site has been placed under high security as a crew of three venture into the rubble piece by piece, not only scavenging any resources(such as metal support beams) but also looking for survivors. So far, four survivors have been found within the gymnasium pool, two deathly injured to the point of missing limbs.
       As death toll rises, food supply increases... Fortunately. With farms and frozen, the vast majority of citizens have been brought to the point of cannibalism. Each body is inspected for visible parasites before bone carving commences, freeing deltoids, ham strings, pecs, triceps, and unharmed livers from their hosts. The collected provender would then be braised at a low heat over a long period of time as to sanitize and cook it, before being cubed into six ounce ration books and stored away within a locked, inground vault: New Haven's Bounty, as it's been deemed.

Encampment News:

       Two more guards have been hired and stationed on the checkpoint walls. They've been fully equipped with available resources. Technicians continue their project to build a functioning lightning rod and radio tower above all. In other news, three hazmat crew members armed and dawned in gasmasks have been sent to scout out the abandoned subway system beneath the plaza.

The Honshu Republic

The now unified Taiwan is almost insulted by the offer to join the Honshu, however does not say so and instead offers what they had originally promised. Friendship and a few barrels of oil each month. The armies quietly begin to muster in the case of an attempt by the Honshu take over the island. The officers of the Honshu would begin to notice something alarming, bullets are beginning to run out, especially for weapons that are mounted aboard ships. Unless new manufactories are built, large amounts of soldiers will be left with dry clips.

 

The Horned Men of Iceland

The mining in tnto the volcano goes smoothly for now, what is discovered is several luxuries hot springs near the top. These could be opened to the public or kept a secret for the wealthy. Tribes surrounding the Horned Men are hostile, they challenge the Horned Men to prove themselves by taking land in Europe before they would join their tribe.

 

The City State

The men inside the CDC find horrifying sites. Hundreds of bodies in various states, men, women, and children hung from the roofs. Three red and black banners hang from the tops of the building, making it clear it is occupied by some hostile faction. They see that men are perched on the roof, taking pot shots at any groups of survivors that they see. The men in the library find nothing but rotted books, a small book in decent condition is found. It details the Ascardian invasion as well as some of the weapons used to fight them off. It tells of the G.S.C and it's importance both pre-war and during. On the back of the book, written in thin, frail handwriting are the words, "They doomed us."

 

The Texas Rangers

The people of the Texas Rangers begin to become uneasy, many beginning to feel that they should rise up against their government. Especially those in West Texas and Louisiana. Should the government fail to act, full armed rebellion is imminent. Already small raids on armories are beginning in Louisiana, many of the people trying to defect to the Cubans who seem relatively stable as well.

 

The Kingdom of Ethiopia

Winter begins to fall like a hammer in Northern Africa. Rather than snow however, ice begins to freeze over large parts of the area. Snow falling in areas of higher elevation. Travel is becoming hard in the area and the people, generally not prepared for such weather, begin to freeze to death in some areas.

 

The Kingdom of New Norway

The ice begins to crack as the horses and cabin are dragged across the ice. The ice around the rig not entirely frozen properly. Suddenly, a massive crack begins to develop. Men shout but it is too late. Nearly a dozen men, three horses, and the steel cage slam through the ice before they even reach the rig. The King is informed of this failure, the men who had predicted the ice to be in good shape are expected to face his wrath.

 

The Zulu

As the scouts reach the mountain, they find massive steel walls, however large cracks are visible in them. It seems as though it has been untouched for decades, several bullet holes line the walls. The doors, made of thick steel, are welded shut. Nothing seems to have tried to open them in years. A strange electrical hum seems to be coming from the inside. And screams.

 

The Neo-Mounties and Hanford Dwellers

The Alaska Federation awaits a response to their ultimatum, troops slowly beginning to close in on the settlement of Red Plains. Winter chokes communication between cities in Washington and BC and The Red Plains.

 

The Brothers of Stalingrad

The men finally push on toward the Kremlin, Rogov's troops in full retreat. Rather than satisfy the men of Stalingrad with torturing him, he commits suicide and has his men burn his body. His ashes spread throughout the city before the men of Stalingrad storm it. The armies flee Moscow, doomed to face the horrible Russian Ice storms.

National News

People within the outskirts of Stalingrad suffer greatly as death is upon their doorstep. Until the storm is over they can't be sure on how many have been lost. If the starvation doesn't kill anyone, the cold will.

 

Food is no longer distributed to the outskirts of Stalingrad's lands. It is kept within the city as the outlaying villages are on their own.

 

Moscow Actions (Requires a Mod)

The Army cheers and celebrates as the great city of their ancestors is in Stalingrad's hands. This celebration is short lived as the men immediately get to work on rallying their separated comrades. As was the primary order of the council, the Enemies supplies stash was to be taken into use for the army to hold the city. Teams also scavange for all old documents of the old world before the war in hopes of procuring technology (Mining Techniques, Power Generator blueprints ect. ect.)

 

To assist in discovering the rebel's cargo and supply locations. the 230 prisoners are told if they confess now their lives will be spared and be aloud to return with them to Stalingrad to begin a new life. Those who DO NOT comply are separated from the group and tortured until they talk..or killed if they don't.

The Neo Mounties and Dwellers of Hanford

 

It was a cold and bitter winter in the Fort of Red Plains, and the hostile army of white clad northmen did not make it any better 1200 armed mounties remain in the fort alongside the full 2000 Hanford Travois, armed with rifles, bows, muskets and other weapons. With tensions growing quickly, Deputy Commander Shen quickly formulates a plan. With help from Hanford authorities, a letter is written and delivered to the Alaskan army via a negotiation's party.

 

"To the men of the north.

We are not a violent people, nor do we appreciate death in abundance. We do not seek war. But let us make something clear. We have armies greater than any you've seen or mustered, you may kill the men we have here, but if no word is received from us back home in the South by the coming of spring, more soldiers will come here, with greater numbers and greater weaponry. Your people will die.

However, it does not have to be this way, there is no reason we must fight each other for this valuable resource, perhaps negotiations are in order. Your leaders are invited into the heart of Red Plain's fort for three nights of negotiations, mayhaps we will come to a conclusion between our two sides.

Let us be gentlemen, there is no reason we cannot be friends."

Yukon Republic

The people of the Yukon had always been an earthy and pragmatic people, and that had not changed with the war. After the flooding had died down along with the radiation, the close knit families and communities banded together in a Republic. The people government ensured crops would be maintained and distributed, and the fearsome but small Yukon People's Army (YPA) and the Yukon mountaineers would keep their lands safe. The YPA ensured the previous Yukon territory was all retaken in the name of the republic, and the republic prospered.

 

In the recent years life remained the same, endlessly fishing, hunting, and farming to ensure the republic, an more importantly, their families were well fed. Gold mines were reopened, and the Republic was able to make a currency based off of gold. The winters were always harsh, but the Yukon was very used to harsh winters, and they were able to work in the rough climes. A bad fishing season depleted the Yukon's granaries however, and the republic desperately searched for food. A diplomat with a Yukon mountaineer contingent headed south, to seek out the Neo Mounties and dwellers of Hanford. The diplomat would offer gold for any food, and was open for negations.

 

Having a motley assembly of fire arms, the Republic decided to make a uniform gun to arm the YPA. Two guns are proposed to be made, the canadian c14 Timberwolf, and the C7 auto rifle. An arms factory is to be made, where the guns will start to be made to supply the YPA and mountaineers.

The Republic of Arminius

The railroads continue to function, the crews keeping them clear of ice using old techniques, keeping massive bonfires lit along wide stretches of the railroad. Dozens of teams are assigned to stretches of track to keep ice from melting, however nearly thirty men die during this process in a month alone, the Governor seeming to shrug it off as a service to their nation. Their corpses are shipped back to their hometowns where they are given warrior's ceremonies, those who were brave enough to go out in the subzero temperatures attended the ceremonies.

 

 

In the capital of Heidelberg, several trains carry valuable shipments of grain to the colonies in Switzerland. New pioneers arrive there as well. Since Spring is soon to arrive, they are eager to cross the Alps and head into the lush Italian coasts. Eager for warmer weather and most importantly, coastal territory. The train is loaded with some 500 men in order to protect those traveling as well as garrison the settlement of Hansehof from potential attackers. They are armed with SA-3s and enough bullets to hold out for the winter. Aboard are also crown jewels of the Legion. Two howitzer artillery pieces, built from scratch using the new resources from the Rhineland, where old factories made to manufacture such things were once located. They are old and similar in effectiveness to the ones used during the early 20th century.

The Perruvians

 

As construction begins of new homes and farms, it is expected that they will be finished in a few months and would make a large surplus of homes and food for all. Terrace farming along this side of the mountain is being used, along with large circular terraces being put in the more flat areas, with the middle being not only a well of water but were all water was drained to. It came down in lines, covering the crops until it hit the center holding area. The homes were that of treehouses, lean too's, and huts. 

 

The Perruvians used to be an united group of tribes, until their leader Intuch-Zis-Elkanbun, who they have named "The leopard". He united the tribes under the promise of education, the ability to prosper, and a better life for all. So far, he has begun instating the smartest and most learn of them all as teachers, which there is only around 30 of. Education is The leopards main concern after survival, and the people trusted him fully for his ideals.

 

The leopard having the major necessity no, after so long of waiting he decides it is time to progress. He orders that multiple look out towers be made on the borders of their land, and a mile out. Along with this, he asks that paths be cleared between the brush filled paths. These towers will not only rise above the trees, but be hunting posts. 12 in total are planned, which will be made after the clearing of the roads which are to be inlayed with stone.

                  

          

 

Along with the new constructions, the leopard deems it necessary to truly seat his power, and that of his continued line. 

 

A horn is blowed from the tallest tower in the center tribe, the capitol. This is the only stone building in the entire tribes, and it is an ancient Inca ruin, re purposed by the men.

 

The call draws nearly all the people in the city, at least 10,000 people gather around the tower upon which their leader stands. Clearing his throat, the leopard steps to the edge of the tower, looking over his people. "My people. You follow me because I do what you agree with. This I plan to continue doing. But we have an issue. We have not expanded, explored, or done anything in a number of years since the great wars and the wrath of our god." He paused for a moment, taking a deep breath and continuing "She came to me in a dream, not just last night to tell me the need for what I am saying right now. She asks that we follow in the footsteps of our Inca ancestors. And I ask that we build a great fortress, a shrine, a place to manifest and hold her power. A true Fortress to make her, our ancestors, and ourselves proud. We will expand. We will grow. We will prosper!" Finishes his speech, shouting the last three phrases, taking a step back from the thunderous applause of the crowd. The entire populace of the tribes is elated, jumped and spurred into action and ready to begin a new era of prospering.

 

The great fortress of the jungle is now being planned. The blueprints should finish in about a year, and it will indeed be a place of great power. All that is known is that is will be build on the edge of the forest, crawling into the mountain. Along with the eventual planned expansion of the tribes, resource gathering is being prioritized. As wood is a more abundant thing, it is finally decided to begin digging with the few implements looted from ruined city's, around 10 pickaxes. A cave is found, and a outpost and cache of supply's is being constructed around cave's mouth.

 

As the final act for the week, the leopard also sends scouting parties to explore the areas around them, up to about 10 miles away from the borders. They are ordered to look for other civilizations, abandoned city's, and most importantly to try and find river access. A team of men is sent to the top of the bordering mountains to see what is on the other side, and set a camp up on the mountain.

Solitude and Expansion

      With the unusual Deep Freeze still wreaking with the chaos of hypothermia in New Haven, the 120 confirmed survivors of the freeze have taken refuge within the Palissya Hotel, using old furniture and corrugated metal panels as reinforcements for windows and doorways against the icy, bellowing winds outside. Few rations have been retrieved from the New Haven's Bounty, leading some to near starvation and others comatose. All patrolling guard have been stationed within the Hotel, minus the three checkpoint crew members, for not only their survival, but the protection of denizens as well.
       (Requires a Mod) Meanwhile, within the Metro Station itself, the three-man scouting group secures the first subway landing before carefully proceeding down the tracks, following the stripped and rusted railway tracks into the darkness, their paths lit by a dying flashlight. Their footsteps echo through the tunnels before they reach an intersection, a rusted and broken service ladder forcing them to carry on through the tunnels blindly as their flashlight begins to flicker wildly.

Foxhole Radio(Requires a Mod)

       Although the radio made up of a broken pencil, razor blade, safety pin, thumb-tacks, and magnet wire grounded by a broken radiator, the Foxhole radio occasionally picks up a signal from active radio towers. Whether it be military or basic music stations, this one-way system works well with intercepting out-going radio signals, all audible through the box TV's detached speakers.

Jacob was angered, of about the Rebels, they truly will never understand about why he killed those people. A rebel who is presumed to be a leader in the Louisianan branch is captured after 3 men are killed trying to capture him.  Jacob personal visit the area where he was captured and places his him on a public stand. Speaking before proceeding to whip the man

"My dearest people, you think what I did was tyrannical well what I did was to stop all of you from dying, you proceed to raise up as my men continue to risk their lives to find cures for this disease, honestly there was no other way to stop this disease it took the life my youngest kid, I tried nothing worked, this is why I ordered the people to be killed." he turns off tears in his eyes as the man is whipped and is left on the stage for people to retrieve him. For the raids on the armories, nothing is done about the missing weapons besides adding extra security around them. As for the riots that are predicted Jacob orders more people to be publically whipped for disobeying his rule, this was an attempt to quell all further uprisings.

The training continues, troops press each other further to get the maximum results from the training.

Brothers of Stalingrad

The scavengers would find in the basement of a building 2 small power generators, it would be enough to power major facilities in the city for most of a year, but require large amount of fuel each month to continuing running.

The Republic of Arminius  

A Switzerland republic was feed up with the advances into their territory, they decided to ambush a incoming train with 2 of their tanks. 50 Switzerland militia men armed with a few semi-automatics and muskets stand on the ridge their two tanks pull up on the ridge behind them, firing 2 shots, one shredding through the front of the train the other hitting the track de-railing the train. The men approach the train as the tanks retreat back to the city. This train was one with one of the howitzer pieces but it is hidden from the eyes of the men.

Peruvians

The mine they would find is a coal mine, with another mine 2 miles from it being an Iron mine, these both look stable enough for the men to get to work

New Haven

The men in the tunnel, run into a tribal group calling themselves the Reds, they are captured and taken prisoner, being interrogated about their names and where they come from. The radio wouldn't be clear but it could be heard by the Brothers of Stalingrad

Hanford

 

As the convoys from the Yukon near, the gates would open. A guard armed with a rifle would come out and tell them they would need to be searched to enter the city after he is told their story.  They would be permitted in with an armed escort of 4 guards to the leadership building with a firm warning to keep all weapons sheathed and safety's on. As they pass the market, some vendors would still have some food, but not too much. No one would seem especially hungry. Upon reaching the leadership building, negotiations would begin. The repairing of the dam is going well. There are no major delays thus far, and a few teams are sent to begin wiring the dam to Hanford for when it is operational. ((3 pages remaining))

A letter is sent directly to the head of the Yukon Republic.

It details an alliance, wild game was in abundance in BC, though the winter had been harsh to the farms outways of Kamloops and Kelowna.

 

"To the members of the white north. We write to you in good faith. We will accept your trade of gold for what food we can spare. Perhaps we can set up trade routes, however what we want most is knowledge and know how from your gold miners on how to operate our iron mines up in the northern borders of our territory.

 

Exchange with us the proper knowledge to mine efficiently and refine our metals, and we shall protect you when called on, and trade what food we have."

 

Food would be provided to their Canadian brothers in the territories if knowledge was exchanged in return.

Kingdom Of Ayutthaya

Territories occupied: Thailand and Malaysia

Capital City: Ayutthaya, Central Thailand 

 

King Hirosashi walks through the streets of Ayutthaya, which is hustling and bustling with trade of various commodities. The Kingdom was re-founded, having fell six hundred years before. The royal line revived when the SEA Commander in-charge married one of the remaining members of the Ayutthayan fallen royalty. Founding the Kingdom originally where it started, it quickly became a place of cultural revival of the Thai culture. Most at the capital would speak English, Japanese and Thai as their languages. Those outside would speak English, Japanese and German, having not been influenced much by the Capital as of yet. English was made the official language for convenience and equality, Pockets of towns at Malaysia were also malay-speaking. The young king, only seventeen of age, was quick to order a counting of the army, which amounted to 65,000 men armed with pistols with the occasional rifle. Ammunition was also in short supply although the fertile regions of Northern and eastern thailand served well to farm crops. Having his predecessors dealt with food shortages and the like, King Hirosashi now had to guide the kingdom to higher heights. 

 

Paying a visit to the ruined former capital city, Bangkok. King Hirosashi observed a Corvette ship docked at the docks just outside the ruined Royal Palace. It was found with minor structural damage due to its neglect over the ages but it appears some natives has been maintaining it a little , ensuring the hull is not rusted out, hence the damage is its inner workings. Seeing potential in it, King Hirosashi immediately ordered for it to be repaired. (( 3 Pages)) 

 

Two factories manufacturing clothes has ensured that the people of the kingdom enjoyed a better standard of living than others elsewhere. King Hiroshashi ordered for the ruins of Bangkok and other cities such as Changmai and Pattaya to be search for any salvagable equipment or vehicles or factories. 

 

 

Diplomatic emissaries were dispatched to the lands of Vietnam, Laos and Myammar, seeking and investigating what has happened to this areas. 

 

A shipyard is ordered to be built at Bangkok to allow the construction of ships , however without a working steel/metal  industry, work on the shipyard would be direly slow and lengthy. ((4 pages))

Highlands Tribe

 

-Nation

 

The Highlands is experiencing small growth in population, it is now 10000 (10 thousand) citizen in the highlands.
Manwhile King George discovers a Material which the book he got should be so called "anti-radioactive" it was found in the eastern highlands in a old facility.
The material is then brought to Glasgow, which will take some time (1 page) king George then attempts to find a way to create one of these "anti-radioactive" suits, the book found explains of a design and researcher is looking into it.

 

-Communication tower

 

The tower which was found in Orkney is functioning again, and the range of its message have been expanded it can now (very badly though) be received in the southern Iceland, south western Norway and all of Britannia.
A new message is send through. 

"I send this message to whoever may receive it, I am the Duke Of Orkney, my nation is the Highlands Tribe.
My king with the name George, is requesting any kind of assistance you may be able to hand.
In Britannia we are being attacked by a cloud who is killing our gods. our research have proven that the cloud is using "radioactivity" against us and we now seek to kill it.
If you know someone or you yourself can help us, we will be forever in your gratitude."

 

The tower is a one way tower, so sadly no message can be received back, the Duke Of Orkney is looking into a way to upgrade it to be able to receive a message.

Sikh Confederacy

 

The annexation of the Kalat Empire had resulted with the Sikh's gaining much more food stores, but also made it so the population of the Confederacy was doubled. A massive recruitment campaign for fishermen was introduced in the Sikh Confederacy, offering free transport to the coast for people further inland who were interested. Seafood and fish became a rising food source in the Confederacy, as the Sikh's begin to combat the bad harvest.

 

Meanwhile,  confident of the fishing campaign, Makul sends his armies to occupy the city of New Delhi along with a wide stretch of territory. After the Last War, New Delhi had been named a holy city, and was not to be fought over in any instance with the tribal wars. But by claiming the city as part of the Sikh Confederacy, it gives a sense of pride. Many Indians begin to believe that the Sikh's are truly the ones to unite India, and a sense of leadership and power erupts among the Sikh people. The Sikh capitol is moved a 2nd time to New Delhi, which Makul presents in a stirring speech as "The one true capitol of the one true Indian nation."
