Space 2335 Share Posted January 24, 2014 I used to be really rp fanatic. But my problem with RP fighting is if both people want to win, it's impossible to have a fight that doesn't end with bickering. Klomp for Rexdom? PVP because both people want to win. I don't think PVP fights eliminate RP. Maybe PVP fight to decide the winner with /duel, then spend 10 minutes rping the fight out.

Samson Option 9652 Share Posted January 24, 2014 If that's the case, why not just roll dice? Because Telanir even stated that the roll dice system is glitched. Honestly, I see you in the Conclave and I do my best to help the elves out. We've been stepping up to the plate with these raiders and smashing them 75-90% of the time. That said, try to personally and kindly talk to the other person before making these videos which then cast all of us in a bad light (subjectively). Lago 2572 Share Posted January 25, 2014 I repeat my suggestion of a /nodrop plugin that allows players to set their items to disappear on death rather than drop. This adds an incentive for players to raid settlements that are okay being raided: kill a load of players that are not okay being raided and you'll get little reward from it because they'll all have /nodrop switched on.
Eleatic 1033 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Most of the DKs haven't RP'd in a month or so due to PVP Default. When we walk somewhere, we are RP'd with for five seconds, then shouted at "ABOMONATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", and killed. Its' made me loathe PVP, which I initially didn't mind. Beyond that, we are also told we are not allowed to auto-armor in these situations, and people have lost all respect, or fear of DKs IC. Believing us killalble by one halfling with a shovel. its' depressing. I also notice no improvement in PGing, or MGing, with this rule implemented. .w. Cappy 1599 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Beyond that, we are also told we are not allowed to auto-armor in these situationsI have, on multiple occasions, assured you that you may auto-armour. Any player is permitted to auto-armour.
Lago 2572 Share Posted January 25, 2014 Doesn't that defeat the point of guards requesting the removal of armour in cities? Autoarmouring Dread Knights makes sense, they are armour, after all, but humans and dwarves autoarmouring makes less sense.

Ought to be added to the rules then, because otherwise, misunderstandings will keep happening. At least make a thread clarifying this, as few people would know this otherwise. Friendly Guy 223 Share Posted January 25, 2014 3:30 in the video, I agree with alot of statements, however removing a large portion of our player base and telling them just to go to another server is NOT a solution in my eyes. I don't mind pvp now and then. But the people that claim pvp default atleast from my experiences are very thin. And everyone if your willing to have a good rp fight will rp with you if rp fighting is your thing. Personally though. I feel the person who is being attacked should be the person to decide whether it is pvp default as in most cases they didn't ask for the rp that you bring to attack them. So why should they have to suffer by a person saying. *walks up to them demanding money* then they do a few lines of rp, and the bandit says. ((Alright PVP default)) In my opinion that is just bad and one should be able to walk away from that or it can be solved by them being able to choose what the battle is either pvp or rp. And if the attacker dislikes one or the other. It would be their fault for assaulting said person. And starting the attack. And in the end be it rp or pvp. They can always run away. 1. You can ask for RP default if you want... Just ask. 2. If they are doing few lines of rp BAN REPORT IT! The point of PVP default is not to remove roleplay it is too decide issues in a much quicker way IE. Elf attacks elf Even fight. so we let them PVP instead of emoteing back and forth untill one quits or another powergames. Now i know what your saying "Then a halfling could just click an orc and win" Whether you like it or not PVP does require some skill this is why many orcs are very good in 1v1's we practice ALOT and its our roleplay you cant exactly practice emoteing a entire klomp it just isnt the same training. Anyways back to the main point of Halfling beating a orc. Why is it that PVP is the only thing that everyone has decided doesnt take any irl skill. If i want to be a builder INGAME i need to be a decent builder behind the screen not everyone can just pick of the mouse and build an amazing build just as they cant pick up the mouse and expect to be an expert swordsmen all because they can emote and outlast someone in a bicker fest. 3. Too the people wanting a dice system. Now i could very easily say "This isnt the server for you please leave" but im not going to. And you know i respect that system it works great in DND but the fact of the matter is i dont find it that thrilling as rolling a dice in DND. when i roll a dice in MC i never feel like its pure luck, its just the machine generating a number based on a predetermined algorithm. Where as in real life "Luck" feels like its an actual factor. And currently many occupations in lotc are not luck based so why should pvp be? A merchant doesn't put a shop out in the middle of nowhere he uses his knowledge of the activity of a road and the supply/demand of an area and looks for a spot to set up the shop hopeing that he will make a large amount of mina's. No real luck involved. 4. anyways this is just my opinion ((Dont hate me :( ))
Priceflash 832 Share Posted January 25, 2014 I repeat my suggestion of a /nodrop plugin that allows players to set their items to disappear on death rather than drop. This adds an incentive for players to raid settlements that are okay being raided: kill a load of players that are not okay being raided and you'll get little reward from it because they'll all have /nodrop switched on. The problem with that is everyone will do /nodrop because they don't want the other side to get their **** because it will just give the other side an advantage anyway. IMO it'd be rather easily abused by people, and it'd cause problems- like being norp killed or something without a chance to get your items back, even if you and the other person solved the issue privately.
