For What It's Worth

((It'd be real cool if only Conclave citizens and regulars to the nation replied.))

Darius stands on the steps to the council chamber and addresses the people

"Elves of Malin, this was all for you. The entire Conclave movement was to preserve the elven race from extinction. An unprecedented victory was obtained against Malinor, the most successful peace movement known in history. Do not mistake our ideals for that of human ones, to label successful progression with spite in on your tongue is counterproductive. To divide our noble species even further will only aid the great enemy."

uses wild hand gestures and charisma to raise morale

"This all began with a dream of mine, a dream for a better tomorrow in Malinor. A nation so decrepit and powerless brought me great shame to witness. It was time for a new system, a new era of elven society, so I set out to do so. I’ll always say the working elf is the best elf and did I work. I had sailed into power with ease and began making moves to oust the self preserving council to put in place effective leaders. I called to others for assistance, for nothing can be achieved without it. Kalameet, Khel, Resia, Feanor, Ka’Dato, Ithil, and Asthil Haumel answered my call. We were to slowly control the votes so we could pass issues in favor of the elven people.  Unfortunately jealousy and madness plagued the minds of the council and they voted a man with no merit nor credentials into power merely because he was a friend. The High Council had made their choice, they damned the elven people of Malinor in favor of personal gain."

Releases great anger as he talks about the High Council and Malinor

"So I was left speechless, unable to comprehend the insanity of the council. I left on a journey to search for an answer and when I returned I had found the answer. Kalameet and Feanor, fellow dreamers, had made our cause public. This was to my great distaste I will admit, but it was soon apparent this was the only option. The council came with threats instead of peace, they had sealed their fate. Fearful for the elven people our hand was forced into war, a move that was taken as blood lust and conquest by some. There was no intention of elven blood beings spilled and on the cold summer night a meeting was held to secure this intention. With the loss of Titania and my suspension the others either followed suit or are still missing. I had waged a war of words, so powerful that Malinorian morale was so low for their future that they turned to our warm embrace in Sanctuary. Game. Set. Match."

He smiles, continuing in a more lighthearted manner

"And so here we are, a nation with high hopes of prosperity and peace. I look to you elves of Malin for guidance, the nation is in your hands. Together we are the defining stroke of what exactly an elf is. Personally I seek an elf who is well mannered, dressed, groomed, wise, and poetic in nature. An elf Malin could be proud of, I seek to return the spiritual roots to the elven people, help me kindle your souls into a beacon of power."

He pauses for that to set in, moving on to the state of the nation address

"The times are most uncertain, with the recent declaration of the Talonnii Confederacy I only see further division, a move ill fated for the elven kind. You will not feel our wrath for that is not our way, but you will not find security if you continue this movement. Whatever the world throws at your Confederacy is yours to deal with, if you’d like to reconsider we will accept you like brothers and sisters."

"There is a housing problem, we the people of the government understand the issue and are working hard at addressing it. We are seeking serious companies to produce goods for our nation and hard workers willing to sweat for their keep. We are attempting a working economy, please do your part, taxes are our only source of income, without income there’s no nation. The elven people have always seemed to be leeches on a nation, always taking and never giving. I will you to prove me wrong on that statement. If you would like to give suggestions on what we should build to improve your stay in the Conclave, feel free. All of our ears are as open as our minds."

"As a nation of greater population in Anthos raids are to be expected. If you want the raids to end and tranquility to return to our lake, join the city militia or our armed guard force. Save your neighbor in hopes they’ll do the same when you’re in need. All you have to do is speak with a government official to join up, if you ever need anything all you have to do is ask."

"Thank you, may our people prosper."

Darius DeNurem nods once, happy with his words and returns to mining

Relgard sighs, walking away from the group. Reaching the security of his home, he mumbles to himself.

"A nation of taxes to pay for armor I didn't get and brutes to beat civilians who don't want to fight. I'm starting to miss Malinor."

Khagan catches a glimpse and like a parent to a child, points east and demands the hooded individual to return to Abresi where his kind congregate in actual numbers.

Seth Calith simply shakes his head as he stands in the crowd before turning around, muttering quietly under his breath. "If Lennel or what elmali'ame calls that city would get proper housing.. Maybe that is my new destination."

They were jealous of khel's insanely fabulous hair, that's why he wasn't voted for HP

A letter is sent, directly to the desk of Darius, and him alone.

"Fare you well Mr. DeNurem. I write to you as as nae mali llir, a friend.

Secondly, let me clarify that I do not speak for my entire people.

You and I are not elves who dither around the point, so let me get straight to it. As you know every respectable active Mali'ame'ker voted their piece regarding whether or not to throw in our lot with the conclave, and the result was a landslide victory for the side that wished to remain independant.

Do you know why we didn't immediately join? We wanted to see how the Conclave would act, to analyze them before we joined them.

Well, they screwed up right away.

How does your leader's cronies claim we are a rebellion when we never joined you in the first place? I don't understand how he 'took over' our land when he took the ghost town of Malinor. Not a single battle was fought in Lenniel. Then his minions attempt to use the fourth wall to say they own the land they never even show their faces in.

Your glorious leader then alienated not only the people who voted against joining his government, but the leaders who could have persuaded them otherwise, calling us incompetent for not enforcing HIS will. I was un-aware the criteria for being a good leader was doing what Kalameet wants.

Aye, the heart of the problem, and the only reason I haven't made an effort to goad my people into joining your Conclave is this:

Kalameet is an asshat.

When I told him the people voted on not joining, he acted like they were cattle, and that it was my job as the obedient puppet leader to guide the clueless peasants into his oh so glorious nation. What is a leader who doesn't value the opinion of his people as he clearly doesn't? His history of High Elven Elitism and blatant psychopathy don't help either.

If you were leading, I would join the Conclave in a heartbeat.

Make of that what you will. All we've done is chosen not to live in his city of skygod constructed trees, you have no one to blame but him and his cronies for alienating those who could have helped unify the ame and ker with the Conclave.

I'm all for unification, I'm sure if you extended a hand instead of hurled condescending words like Elf-god Izalith did then we'd already be at your side. But such things can still happen.

nae llir,

Artimec Camoryn, Luminary of Hunt."

nae llir,

Artimec Camoryn, Luminary of Hunt."

Cracks his knuckles and starts a mad writing sesh to be sent directly back to Art

"Brother man Artimec, the damnation of a nation for the actions of a few can be viewed in negative light. I however recognize your concerns and would like to rebuttal with the idea to stay open minded on my comrade Kalameet. There is no such thing as a set mindset, the redstone wiring of the mind are as malleable as clay. One can change immensely if they put in the proper effort. With that I do not expect a full one eighty, but it's something to think about. My hope for your slice of elven heaven was to keep you as an independent ally, to live in harmony along side Darkhaven and I. I commend you for bringing together the rest of the elves, the unification no matter which team you throw for is a needed progression for elven interest. I implore you as an individual son of Malin to walk the path of peace. This is something I have long strayed from since I joined the Malinorian government three years ago, something I wish to return back to. The Way is the only way, through the soul you breathe into your body, this is a concept I wish all elves to understand. We are spiritual beings living in a time when materialistic domination is the common practice. I invite you to enrich your life essence along side me and unlock the potential bestowed upon the elves. I will not shun, look down on, threaten or beat any who wish to go against my ideals. I hope to see you soon."

"I believe we've been very open minded to Kalameet, considering I talked and reasoned with him prior to the Conclave's rising on fair terms, and made it very clear to him it would be a people's vote to decide the direction of my people.

No, I believe everyone in the Conclave has a different political agenda towards Lenniel and the Talonnii, I believe yours is just but I don't believe you can speak for an entire nation, especially when the leader whom we've done nothing but be patient with has blatantly claimed the opposite of what you wrote to me.

If you were the sole authority on Conclave matters in our lands I would gladly join your nation. But your current leader has been given many chances and he isn't trustworthy. Not in my eyes. Perhaps you should preach his virtue to the other Talonnii leaders.

Camoryn,

L. of Hunt."

This letter is still sent privately.
