Smoke rises from the burnt bodies near the old Cloud Temple lands.

An intense battle took place there between the forces of the mortals against the forces of Setherien. The mortals charged the main gates, but Harbingers awaited there with forces of their own. Some of the mortals found ways inside to battle them, though most of the others lost their lives by the arrows, black frost fire, and traps.

The forces of the Scourge soon had to retreat from the attacks from the side, taking refuge in the Old Library; a hard to enter place with a gate as well. It took much time until the mortals could break the first gate, before they could pass to head to the library. There they found once more the gates closed, having to break holes in the old building to get inside. A difficult battle followed within, until the Harbingers and their troops had to retreat further inside passing the portal.

This was where the mortals found the hardest of troubles. When walking through the portal they found an army awaiting to end their life, one that they could not pass through nor defeat. Thus, some of the commanders, seeing so many of their men die, thought of other ways to force victory instead; they destroyed the portal, trapping the remaining Scourge troops within the fortress.

After that, the mortal army could walk more freely through the temple, and proceeded to break the chains of the floating fortress. However, the fortress did not budge. Some of the Harbingers descended to attack, engaging the mortals in a final and desperate last stand. Setherien’s servants, their cultists and many of the mortals painted the once peaceful lands with corpses from all sides. Even so, the army, while suffering many losses, was able to defeat the remaining Harbingers. The mortals had finally regained the land once lost to the beasts of the North!

Shortly after the defeat the floating fortress moved away from the former temple lands. The mortals suffered many deaths, yet they were victorious nonetheless. Despite this hard won victory, many questions were still left unanswered. Why did the Scourge want these lands? Was it only to attack the monks, or was there another motive? Many questions arose, but one remained dominant in the minds of all:

What was inside their mine?

Farmer Billy Bob would adjust his monocle (found in the dirt of course) and promptly advise against going in there and checking it out. He would believe that if a dark, powerful, and secretive faction of witches and casters decided to lock something away in the mines-- it should probably stay locked.
