A Day of Victory

 

 

After a long day of bloodshed, the dwarves of Urguan return to the grand halls of Kal’Ithrun, their numbers lessened and their minds in turmoil of the many brothers, fathers and sons they had lost. Grand Wulfgar Grandaxe wipes the blood from off of his war axe, as he looks between the faces of his kin. Though the war had been won, it had come at the gravest of costs. The young dwarf looks on as Lord Igor’s coffin is gently lowered into the catacombs, his face cold and expressionless.  For from the stone dwarves were born and so it is there that their bodies shall lay. He gives a deep sigh before calling for silence among his kin. As he speaks, his voice echoes throughout the halls.

 

“Sons ov Urguan! Te’day weh ‘ave achieved ah victoreh weh ‘unce t’ought impossible. Ondnarch, t’e bane ov our koind ‘as been defeated. Wit' 'is fall, weh 'ave avenged t'e deaths ov maneh ov our kin, lawst tu t'e 'alls ov Khaz'A'Dentrumm by 'is 'and. Suh tu’ did weh achieve gains in t'e north, wer' t’e scourge wus' pushed back beyun’ t’e mountains baeh t’e united forces ov Anthos. Yet weh mus’ nevah forget t’ose ‘o ‘ave sacrafoiced t’eir loives tu earn us our freedom. T’ough t’ey may nuh lun’er walk amung’ us in t’is loife, t’eir storehs n’ memorehs shall las’ fer all eterniteh. Weh will nevah ferget t’e sacrafoice t’ey ‘ave made fer us tu liv’."

Dizzeh shall tak’ ‘awn t’e roll ov Lerd Chancellor whoile Zahrer Irongrinder will beh granted t’e toitle ov Lerd Protector. Furtharmur’ Zahrer ‘as informed meh t’at Tog Irongrinder shall tak’ Dizzeh’s position ‘awn t’e Clan Council, tu w'ich ah accept 'is claim.

T’ough weh may toil n’ strain ourselves fer maneh yers tu com’, know t’at it is all tu brin’ our descendants ah loife ov prosperiteh. It is baeh t’e ‘onour n’ favour ov t’e gods t’at weh ‘ave achieved wut weh ‘ave tu’day. Ah ‘ope t’at weh may now guh ‘awn intu’ an era ov greatness. Fer onleh t’egathah may weh forge ah Kingdom wortheh ov our ancestor’s name. Fer Urguan n’ victoreh!”

 

Wulfgar raises his axe into the air, as a large cheer erupts from the crowd of dwarves. The orange and grey banners of Urguan fly in the wind outside as dwarves of all clans continue to flood into the halls, returning home from a hard won battle.
