For all you who have been with us both new and old, there are some words that are left out of our vocabulary. This is to explain each term as simply as possible. This hopefully will prevent any more “accidental” issues with the rules as well. This will be a short guide but one I feel that is necessary.

Admin - Short for Administrator, an admin is a head of the server. They oversee the GMs and their job. If there are any issues with the server of its lead staff, the admin step in and straighten things out.

AT – Short for Application Team, these are the people who devote their time reading over applications to make sure Applicants understand what they are getting into before they join Lord of the Craft.

Blackmail – To gain information or force another to do something upon threat of doing something else. Usually used in gaining money, it is also used to force players to do what the other wants on threat of Ban Reports or retaliation.

Cyber-Bully – Bullying using technology as a means. This includes but not limited to, harassing through tells, name calling, pressuring other players, and sending harmful content.

Cybering – The act of cyber intercourse. This is highly frowned upon as it leads to lawsuits and other issues. This will get you banned if you are caught. Follow this general rule of thumb, don’t do what you wouldn’t do in front of the elderly.

DEV – Short for developer, this is usually given to staff members who retire from their positions of long standing and significance. They become this to help make the server better without an actual staff position.

Edgy – A term used more often, incorrectly. It describes a person of over exaggerated ability, to ignore cultural and social norms (strange appearance, abrasive attitude, ect.), to deliberately make an effort to be unique in abnormal ways, to disrespect or disobey authority for no discernible reason, and the need to carry excess weaponry. A roleplayer pretending to be Ezio from assassin’s creed is a good example. Another is a super elite ninja with 15 hidden daggers and two katanas.

ET – Short for Event Team. The Event team is a group of roleplayers who are split into two groups. The Builders and the Actors. They help create events for players around the map. They either make one themselves or you can ask them to help with an event.

Flaming – A term used to describe when one or more posts are written in an angry and heated way. Often these turn into insults and end with warnings or the thread being locked. A good way to prevent this is to type calmly and politely

FM – Short for Forum Moderator. They sort through the forums to make sure no threads are offensive, flaming is kept to a minimum, and old threads are archived. They are in charge of locking threads and keeping them orderly.

GM – Short for Global Moderator. A GM is in charge of moderating the forums, server and Teamspeak. They issue bans, handle perm issues, and many other tasks the normal player has no access to. They make sure everyone is treated fairly and any disputes are handled.

God-moding – Another term for powergaming. God-moding is when you are impervious to attacks, able to overpower your opponent in unrealistic ways, and over all act like you are a god. This also is used for when MT or ET are in god-mode for events or video.

Gore – The depiction of blood and flesh in a gruesome fashion. While some can handle minor gore, such as blood, others can handle more in depth descriptions of gore. Keep in mind that there are young teens on this site when depicting gore and always ask if they are alright with it or you need to edit.

Harassment – Constantly stalking, talking, or overall annoyance to another. This includes unwanted attention, sexual attention, and trolling. While you may not see something as harassment, others will. If you are told to stop and you continue, this can be seen as harassment.

Help Chat – A place to get help in game with various questions. To access help chat you do /join help. To talk in help chat you must do /h before you talk. Example: /h how do I lock a chest?

IC – Short for in character. This means you are currently in the mind of your character and are doing as your character would.

Inappropriate Language – The use of present day swears or words in context. It is best to use false words to cover the swears. Banning does happen over untasteful swearing in game. Use words such as Feck and Nether. Sometimes it’s more fun to make up a swear.

Lewd Roleplay – The act of doing sexual roleplay. This includes but not limited to groping, grinding, licking, motorboating, streaking, describing genitals, and fondling. General rule of thumb follows that of the Cybering. You can be banned for Lewd Roleplay.

LWC – A plugin used to create locks on chests, doors, and fences. If you are iron VIP and up you can lock items yourself, however, if you do not have access to LWC, you can modreq for a GM to come help you with this.

LM – Short for Lore Master. This team is comprised of a select few that have the most knowledge about the lore of our server. They accept and deny new lore that players submit. This includes special characters, magic, and new technology.

MC – Short for minecraft. This acts as a medium for which roleplaying is done on.

MC Mechanics – The use of Minecraft to physically do a story, such as running, riding, and fighting. However, abusing this can lead you to a ban. Running in MC can result in PVP, unrealistic builds can lead to collapses, floating trees can result in bans.

Meta-gaming - The use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions. This includes but not limited to: Using MC names to tell a character despite being hooded or armored, using knowledge learned OOCly to act ICly, and going to places your character would not normally because of OOC knowledge.

Modreq – A plugin used to call for aid from a GM. A modreq is just that, a moderator request. This allows you to get help with LWC, Regioning, or even get the attention of a mod. Do not use for things you can solve yourself. When in doubt, use help chat first.

MT – Short for Media Team. These players are in charge of getting screenshots, video, and various other mediums to help promote and show off the server.

VIP – A rank for those who donate to the server. You can donate as little as $10. This not only helps pay for the server, but also gives you perks depending on how much you donate.

NL – Short for Nation Leader, this is a rank given to those in power over the main nations. They get this rank only in teamspeak and this allows them to command the channel. This also makes it easier to see who you need to talk to about your nation.

No-RP Kill – To kill with little to no roleplay involved. A No-RP kill results in the death of another player and often a large ban report. Before you can kill another player it is required you provide at least 2 lines of emote before committing to a PVP or RP kill.

OOC – Short for Out of Character. This is used to describe the actions outside of your roleplay. OOC should never affect IC as it is Metagaming and can lead to a ban later. OOC can be used to help better explain IC events for knowledge purposes.

OP – Short for Over Powered. Another term for god-moding, this means your character has more power than they should. A single handed crossbow or a super effective magical spell can be considered Over Powered.

PG-13 – A rating the server stands by. If you cannot see it in the movies, you cannot see it in game. This includes but not limited to extensive gore, rape, lewd actions, and cybering.

PMs – Short for Private Messages. This is often said to others when it comes to sending private information. Tells and forum messages fall under the use of private messages. Remember to never give out personal information to another player.

Powergaming – Another term for God-moding. Powergaming is used to describe using abilities that far surpass what your character should have. This includes but not limited to superhuman strength, ninja like agility, unexplained ability to block out pain, immunity to magic, super powered magic, and ability to bypass lore. Powergaming is also used to describe one line kill emotes. You must always give the other player a chance to emote.

Pugsy – The mass no-rp kill. Named after the infamous Pugsy himself. This is used to describe mass No-RP kill of 3 or more individuals. This is currently a perma-bannable offense with no chance of appeal.

PVE – Short for Player vs Environment. This is used to describe when you use MC Mechanics to fight against the environment, including mod spawned mobs.

PVP – Short for Player vs Player. This is used to describe when you use MC Mechanics to fight against other players. However, your must Roleplay leading up to a PVP event.

Roleplay – Refers to taking a role of an existing character or person and acting it out with a partner taking someone else's role, often involving different genres of practice. Make-believe is a form of roleplaying. You take the role of a character following the rules of the game. You act as another person.

Snip - To post -snip- means to have an FM or GM remove a post. It is against the rules to double post in threads and though it does happen accidentally, you can always edit a previous post. Snip accidental posts to let FMs and GMs know you did not mean to double post and would like it corrected.

Tells – A private messaging ability inside the game. This is best for when describing information, sending birds, or even communicating with a friend. To access tells do /t and the players MC name. To reply to the last person who sent you a tell, do /r .

Trolling – To cause discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion. This also includes acting as such in game with abuse of MC mechanics to disrupt roleplay or create unenjoyable roleplay or situations to provoke a reaction out of others.

TS – Short for Teamspeak. This is a medium used to speak to other players in chat rooms verbally, keep up with events, and seek help from team members.

Undergaming – The act of roleplaying below what your character is really capable of. While it is not banable to do, it can be considered bad roleplay to undergame. One should always keep things fun for other roleplayers. Undergaming can be used as a tool to achieve a fun roleplay session as well.

Anymore terms you all can come up with you think should be in this guide, feel free to post them or PM them to me. If you believe a term is Incorrect, please PM me with what you believe to be the correct term. I rather this thread be pleasant.

Incorrect.

A character is normally refereed to as edgy because:

-Ignores cultural and social norms (strange appearance, abrasive attitude, ect.)

-deliberately makes an effort to be unique, for unique s sake.

-Disrespecting  or disobeying authority for no discernible reason.

(Did you even consider looking it up the actual definition?)

Pugsy'ing is not only a mass RP kill but the intent behind it. When you do it, you aim to get banned permanently as a big 'stuff you' to the server.

I used what I was told Edgy was. However being Unique does not mean edgy. >.>

I will add in your definition to edgy however.

A good few of these are not LOTC words and are in use basically everywhere. Adding edgy and stuff makes sense, but admim, gore, OP, help chat and harassment etc. are used basically everywhere. Adding them is like adding the word "hat" to the list because people use the word in RP.
