Nestled in the Fringe Settlement, the stalwart Mali'aheral citizenry gather, and seat themselves on rough chairs and stools around a central clearing. There, a citizen hoped to solve a grievance with another, and the other, to defend his assertions against the onset of popular opinion.

Iatrilemar stood in the center, beside (but not too close to) Kalenz Uradir. Tittering whispers spread throughout the gathered crowd as they prophesied and pondered the outcome of the trial. Many took sides, and some even chortled merrily with wine and tea. Sitting at the head of the gathered numbers, Sohaer Lelien Lazul sat with a stern expression, and glanced her eyes over the gossiping citizens. With a raised hand, Lelien silenced the crowd, and spoke clearly before her people.

"Iatrilemar Elervathar, you have accused Kalenz Uradir of crimes against the Mali'aheral people, and therefore seek punishment for his transgressions. However, it is not yet known whether what you have cited are truly "crimes," or whether Mr Uradir was fully justified within the limits of the law, and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. Mr Uradir is accused of--

-damaging the minds of mali'aheral with his depravity,

-Slandering of the highest degree to one, Iatrilemar Elervathar,

-Slandering other mali'aheral in a similar fashion,

-Acting above the word of the Sohaer.

Within this "trial," we will discern if the acts Mr Uradir has performed are criminal, and should the be found to be so, deliberate punishment. To judge this, I will select two citizens to preside over these proceedings. Then, the arguments may commence."

((First post will be dedicated to Lelien choosing her fellow judges

Iatrilemar and Kalenz will argue one point at a time until one of them concedes, or the judges request them to move on to the next listed transgression.))

Lelien looks over the crowd before her with cold eyes, they fix on her fellow members of the Triumvirate.

"This trial involves our Maheral, this being said, I find it only fitting for those of the Triumvirate to judge over it.

Delonna Aeyéyèlsa and Silir'ilume, you shall be the judges along with myself.

If either of you have any objections, speak now."

Delonna takes his place by Lelien's side, crossing his arms in front of his chest as he glances over the crowd. As his gaze comes to fix on Iatrilemar and Kalenz, he does not speak up. If the High Elf had any objections, they were not voiced.

Silir'ilume rises before the assembly, clasping his hands behind his back. He inclines his chin, gazing upon the accused and accuser.

"I accept this appointment. I have no further comment."

Kalenz glances about the room coldly, studying each elf in turn. A scowl upon his face, as always. The high elf clears his throat before begining to speak, perhaps in a tone of more than mild irritation.

"As it seems Iatrilemar has no intention of speaking first, I shall begin by outlining why each of his claims is ludicrous in its own right.
I will note that none of the above claims are crimes with the exception of the first and last. I will not deign the first claim worthy of a rebuttal, as all who have known my work as a mali'aheral and Sohaer know I work for the preservation of the mali'aheral and the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya. To insinuate one harms the mali'aheral is nonsense. The last claim is nonsense."

Kalenz exhales sharply and states plainly:

"You can not punish me for crimes which do not exist.

The case brought Iatrilemar Elevathar is flawed for a multitude of reasons each of which I shall outline in turn. For nearly a century the culture of the mali'aheral has persisted based on principals of the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya which in particular involves the preservation of the purity of the mali'aheral.

Only once in my time with the mali'aheral have I been exposed to a caustic level of impurity which threatened to destroy the very fabric of the society in which we live. That time, permanently etched into my memory, shall be known to me as the time of the Alfakyn Snake. He who sought to destroy our culture for his own political gain and because perverted moral compass.

It is now, perhaps, mali'aheral, we see the dawn of a second time in which the very sanctity of our culture is threatened. Iatrilemar seeks to strike a blow at that which has supported the mali'aheral and served them well for decades: The ability for one elf to question the purity and use of another mali'aheral. A selecting mechanism which permits us to intelligently debate the value, contribution and place of each member in our society.

Let us not forget, mali'aheral, it is the questioning of purity which enables us to exile and purge those who are not of true thill nature. It is this process which allows us to remove impurities and safeguard the continued existence of our culture.

It has been this way for decades, and will be this way for decades to come. For other elves in the past have dealt with squabbles and questions of purity before without purulently requiring a court case to support them in their time of need.

I, myself, do even bicker with Mr. Sullas and he with I over the value of one another to mali'aheral society. Yet neither of us has found use in creating a court case, for each of us, one presumes, knows the other works attempts to work the betterment of the mali'aheral— Even if one of us is obviously more effective than the other.

If you would condemn me, you condemn the process which removed the Alfakyn serpent from our ranks. It was at that time he made my speech illegal, attempting to silence the word of the maehr'sae hiylun'ehya with his toxic words of impurity.

While I assure you, I engage in no such "rumouring' I will note that I have even known other elves, particularly Ms. Elwyn, to spread false rumours. While an undesirable and valah like trait this is no crime and is easily dismissed by the elf "rumoured about", with a hint of charisma and a swift speech upon the matter.

One will further note that my criticism of the regressor is not unwarranted, for it is he who openly supported the legalisation of that which is a crime of lewdness. He who has yet to publicly recant his abominable position, defending those who endanger our very culture. Those who wish to poison the well we drink from, allowing the mali'aheral to wither and die with no young to replace them.

One will also dismiss the notion I "acted above the word of the Sohaer" noting that no "word" of the Sohaer have I violated— Given the Sohaer has said no such "word" to me. Furthermore I note note that it has been for many a year our custom to debate and engage properly each issue in an intellectual manner and that if I wished to attempt change a decision made by the Sohaer, I would only have had to do such.

I finally note that Iatrilemar has no proof for any of his claims beyond our debate upon the matter of his purity regarding his position on the crimes of lewdness. There is no evidence one spread rumours of any kind, acted above the word of anyone or slandered Iatrilemar beyond what was due for his illogical position.

Furthermore, one concludes that if Iatrilemar wishes not to engage in intelligent debate to defend his untenable position of defending those who engage in crimes of lewdness he ought travel to the uruk'nor where instead of debate he may engage in brute head-banging to solve his disputes.

For the Parir'tir to convict me of anything here today would be akin to believing a teapot floats somewhere in the void. There is no proof of the matter and the proof that exists points to no crime at all."

Valmuel Elibar'acal nods once in response to Kalenz's statement, her eyes showing approval. She shifts her eyes to Iatrilemar, expecting the rebuttal.

Volet nods to concur with Kalenz and his assertions, a grin curled on his lips from the teapot comment.

Iatrilemar, with a stoic stillness begins to speak, directing most of his attention to the triumvirate;

Let us begin by disecting your dispute.

Punish Mr.Uradir? No, I do not wish to punish you. I wish to reform you. It is my belief that in your current state you are unable to accurately represent and interpret what maehr'sae hiylun'ehya means, the sole role the Maheral posses.

To the next point. When have I ever stated that my mission was to remove the ability to dispute purity? I openly have aimed to dispute your own purity Mr.Uradir so for now I shall leave that part of your speech alone as it does itself no justice.

If one had approached me, Mr.Uradir, one would have been able to engage in civil conversation and come to understand my views which are not far from yours. I admit my eloquence with the pen is not to the level you posses and perhaps what you had read was a misinterpretation. I openly, in front of a court, state that I agreed with the changes to the law regarding lewdness however having experience with how laws were approached by Mr.Uradir I felt it would have allowed the Maheral to take direct, violent action against those individuals caught breaking the law via use of physical and mental torture. I therefore sided against the proposed law, hoping to discuss the issue.

Mr.Uradir is known for his violent nature and while it has granted our culture many advancements it cannot be the standard for progression.

This is shown to be true simply by the notice posted demanding the Sohaer arrest me based on his "assumptions" that I have committed a crime. In public view no less. Mr.Uradir thoughtfully aimed to provoke me by openly questioning my purity for an opinion that he did not agree with. In fact I would go past questioning and simply say that Mr.Uradir attempted to brand me impure without proper proof or synergy with the Sohaer. From which have I been berated, salted and received distasteful looks from those who once applauded my contributions.

One who jumps to conclusions and with ignorance brands a respected mali'aheral impure should be reconsidered for the position of Maheral. The example currently being set to our kin is that it is okay to form mobs and march to the doorstep of those you are in disharmony with and shackle them, taking away their pride, their worth and their knowledge.

You say that you and Mr.Sullas hold debate over time but then you move to use your power as Maheral to attempt and publicly slander the Elervathar name. What intelligent debate? You mean the one where you post publicly that I am a dissenter and then demand the Sohaer to arrest me? There was no debate to be had. Mr.Uradir did not and never has actively sought to gain knowledge over the subject. You pick action over wisdom and misguide our cultures teachings to any new mali'aheral.

Furthermore you stated that holding political power represents more purity than other contributions to society, namely architecture, the arts, magical progression. It is clear that you thirst for power when we, as a culture, need a Maheral that will help us thirst for knowledge.
