Idioticozzy 66 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Just a reminder about feedback threads.... lets cut the arguing and get to a solution. We are saying solution. Solution = Rematch and get a better toaster to host server.

Shadowjax 140 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I personally was rolledback and I was there at the same time as the whole alliance force. I wound up logging on at Arkon with like 50 other people, we just moved swiftly and ran back. All the lag that happened affected both sides, not just one. We even started the battle with more people, so I am wondering how people think "more oren got rolled back"..... How do you even measure that? Long story short, no, I do not want a redo. You realize the dwarven capital is by far closer to the battlefield then Vekaro?
SirSnowMan 318 Share Posted April 5, 2014 As a high ranking noble within Oren, all I really want to see is the staff solve these lag/crash issues so we can have proper battles in the future. Do this and Oren will shrek them next time.
Eleatic 1033 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I'm not a part of either side. It just seems like if Oren had won, dwarves would of taken this a lot better then they are. It may not of been a fair battle from what I read, but who cares. It's just a game and 4.0 is coming soon , so it really doesn't matter in the long run, does it? Space 2335 Share Posted April 5, 2014 As a high ranking noble within Oren, all I really want to see is the staff solve these lag/crash issues so we can have proper battles in the future. Do this and Oren will shrek them next time. I'm sure them will be OK with it. I'm glad that there are a FEW level headed people on both sides. Honestly, the leaders should just get in a TS and discuss it, instead of trying to get GMs or admins to do something.
Fimlin 1997 Share Posted April 5, 2014 video of what happened, after it ended i could not connect to lotc for a good 5 min, the ts down aswell, i logged in to find myself at my house, same items i had when i was fighting, as if i was tp'ed there i return with another dwarf to the batle field to find the battle won with many orenians on the ground
Reckless Banzai Screamer 15456 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Solutions: Next time take ten minutes for everyone to get back into their places before the crash. The battle started immediately after the crash and those returning to the battle field couldn't do so as the battle ended up extending passed the borders, reaching as far as Kal'Arkon and soon after... http://imgur.com/a/Bj1Z4#XbbhbZW Vekaro. I believe an excuse was "Oh, this is a skirmish." Then a second crash happened afterwards. This one I died. A redo isn't needed. Most of Oren was late to the battle and the dwarves didn't go ahead and kill the Lucienists and few oreners present. However the GM that watched over the battle should have made better calls. They be needing some education on how to make calls, ya hear?
Sneaky 189 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Wow, never seen so much bitching and whining on a thread... I wasn't there for the battle, as it seems that Oren fells a bit shafted. And the dwarves are telling them to suck it up. But one thing I would like to note is that, **** happens it was one warclaim. All this bitching is making y'all look like a bunch of children. Personal I just hate what players have become. Okay, well on topic now, we need to upgrade are server period. It's been like this for ages. It has not once been addresses
Cat Evocation 3728 Share Posted April 5, 2014 To be honest, a fundraiser for a new host would not be such a bad idea. I would think with the amount of money raised for purely donating could get us a really good server host, I don't know what they do with it nor do I question such but I don't think the server would need a fundraiser. c: That battle was just a battle, both sides lagged out and Oren got the worst of it but it wasn't really a major battle, but a redo sounds like lotsa' fun. MediocreGamer 838 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Putting aside the amount of players that were in the same minecraft chunk, how much did arrows and spells attribute to the lag? Has a battle been done with arrows/spells on that scale before? Perhaps spells and arrows could be banned on the next battle to decrease server-side lag? (I'm not too technologically literate on what attributes to the lag in minecraft so if i'm wrong, please tell me.)
Rhia 936 Share Posted April 5, 2014 We know what went wrong, the point of this thread to have both sides talk about a solution that will make them, at the very least, not completely upset. The tech team is constantly working toward reducing lag and Tythus is in charge of where the server is hosted. Both are aware of the problems and are working within the budget we have to make it better... .We need to move past what we can't change. As players you need to sort it out.... I don't think the GM team needs to force a re do or make this choice for you because its a choice both sides are going to have to live with.
Draeris 3124 Share Posted April 5, 2014 I was there, and I think the Oreners are basicly just not accepting that they lost in a long while. Get this, we were just better organized. I know for a fact that my Festinians troops have been preparing for OOC scenarios like this, and we survived it. I assume others did too. I suposse to avoid the lag, we may want to get a fundraiser or so. But Oren, you lost because we outnumbered you, and had better tactics, and thats it. Certainly I could be considered biased as my OOC and IC admiration goes towards Mediocregamer, but from an objective perspective I don't think Oren lost due to the rollbacks, we had rollbacks as well. I would want to write a whole rant and informative & constructive post regarding this.. But yeah.. I reminded me of something.. I would do this for the 21th time now. Honestly, get over it. If we can endure your b*llshit day by day, you can endure one loss. That'll be all. ~
Samson Option 9652 Share Posted April 5, 2014 Honestly, get over it. If we can endure your b*llshit day by day, you can endure one loss. That'll be all. You say that as if Oren doesn't have to put up with the opposing side as well. Might want to check your side out as if they are saintly, because they aren't. Both sides have treated each other like absolute sh*t over a video game. In terms with this battle, I want to say good game to the winners and to all that played. You can't ask for a re-do because it may just end up like this where folks get rolled-back, crashed, etc. Fix the server lag, then we could possibly speak about a re-do which honestly I don't want to see. You win some, you lose some. Humans have won most skirmishes, but Dwarves pulled a clutch victory. Now I am going to watch UConn smash the f*ck out of Florida and then hope my state gets into the Championship by beating a bunch of cow-milkers from Wisconsin. Learn to enjoy a video game, if you aren't. On to the next one, I heard Steam has plenty of neat ones!
