-12th of Sun's Smile, 1456-

 

T'was a Sunny day in Vekaro, the city was bustling with activity. Trades were being made, friends were talking, and occasional fights were occurring. However, in spite of all the things going on, a simple man, by the name of Lorik was enjoying the day in the good month of Sun's Smile. He was planning on attending the Sun's Smile Festival, soon to be held this month, and decided to spend this day relaxing. Lorik sat in a chair, right by the gates where folk of all races were coming in, and out.

 

Lorik was now an old man, at the age of 70. He had stopped fighting many years ago, and now continued his days yelling at dirty enemies, and participating in noon naps. Life was simple for Lorik, and he knew his life would soon be over.

 

On the 12th of Sun's Smile, 1456, Lorik sat outside Vekaro, and enjoyed the Sun's Smile. Lorik closed his eyes, soon falling asleep.

 

Lorik died in his sleep, forever smiling at the Sun.

Faiz watches as the old man slumbers, giving off a small smile and prays silently. He speaks to some passing by luciens and asks them to go over and see if the old man is dead, and if so, to make sure he receives a proper burial.

Lorikeets was there for many adventures, the young Hektor Rheincastle in his days as a kraltan strelt, Old Hoscus and his military days under King Heinrik, and even Borin Grandaxe had an occasional chat with fine Lorik. Today on the 12th of suns smile 1456 everyone will remember the day Lorik Edain passed, it will be known as Lorik's day, so may the future suns smiles be as happy and glorious as we remembered Lorik as. RIP friend
