Neckties!

I know the subjects of Neckties and their acceptance into the community has been an uncovered topic.... Or at least, I couldn't find a post that led me to it.

In case you don't know what a necktie is

tie or necktie is a long piece of cloth worn for decorative purposes around the neck or shoulders, resting under the shirt collar and knotted at the throat. Variants include the ascot tiebow tiebolo tiezipper tiecravat and the clip-on tie. The modern necktie, ascot, and bow tie are descended from the cravat. Neck ties are generally unsized, but may be available in a longer size. Men and boys wear neckties as part of regular office attire or formal wear. Neckties can also be worn as part of a uniform (e.g. military, school and waitstaff), whereas some choose to wear them as everyday clothing attire. Neckties are traditionally worn with the top shirt button fastened, and the tie knot resting comfortably between the collar points. Among younger men, neckties are sometimes worn as a casual item, tied loosely around the neck, with the top shirt button unfastened.

IRL History

Neckties were originally called Cravat. The Cravat's earliest traces were in Rome, where soldiers wore bands of cloth around their necks to symbolize which group they belong in. They vanished for a while, before re-appearing in the 16th century, in Croatia. They were worn by Mercenaries under the rule of King Louie XIII of France, to symbolize their devotion to him. They were also worn for the idea of psychological protection from spears.

So, that's my argument. Ties should be somewhat OOCly accepted, due to the fact that they are quite old, even if it isn't a 'modern day necktie'. Of course, they don't have to be accepted RPly in the world of Anthos, and seen as an odd new style. I've personally asked before, 'Would suits be allowed to wear?' And I was returned with, "Yes, but make sure to avoid ties".

You know what's really cool?

Bowties.

So long as it isn't game-breaking or obvious that we shouldn't have it... it's accepted lore, due to our regulations. While there is no real need for this post, I guess I can say that this is allowed, yes.

Wouldn't bother me personally, as long as I don't start seeing people wearing suits, looking like business men from the 20th century. Keep in mind that if this were allowed, then people could argue why flintlock pistols should be allowed too. These were around during the same time

True point of course. However this is a fashion, not necessarily a utility that is beyond the age of technology. A character could easily begin thinking of new ideas for clothing and come up with the necktie.

As it is fabric and just adjustment of way to use clothes, it is perfectly acceptable to use them. Just try not to look too modern in the skin one uses.

Time and technology do not have anything to do with lore, this is because LOTC is not IRL, it doesn't progress the same timeline.

I thought I would provide examples of my idea of acceptable and unacceptable.
