Quick Clarification On Pvp Default

If 101/200 want a group RP fight, then it's an RP fight. That's the glory of compromise between RP and PvP default; it's likely that not everyone is jumping with joy, but at least both sides partly get what they want.

Alan, change the rule so it's PVP default for more than 5-6 players total. RP fights in large groups can be hectic and confusing.

Please re-read what you just said because it was really illogical.

I have a feeling that this was made without too much thought. If you outnumber a party in general, it's statistically probable that said outnumbering party WILL triumph in mechanics-combat, rendering any advantage given by text-combat void regardless. If one is so very insistent upon keeping this (I don't see why one would be, as text-fighting was removed as the go-to source of combat for a very legitimate reason), I would suggest a limit on how many people can take part in a text-combat situation. e.g. If the number of combatants raises above 8, mechanics-combat is necessary.

This clarification has helped a lot and this post needs to be put in the News section at the top so this will help many disbutes and intensity felt situations be settled. Considering some don't look on the forums as much, I advise to do it. (I do but some of the others who just play on here for certain wants need to know this... like a random orc that suddenly says he wants to PvP me after doing RP and then randomly runs off saying he can't after he 'magically' knows that there are humans coming after a few seconds later...)

So if 11/20 people want a group RP fight, its an RP fight. Nah, not happening, that's kinda bad.

lol

I edited my statement to make more sense and appear more fair, but thank you for the contributing response nonetheless.

This isn't really an issue though. Here's why:

As you can see by Cyndikate's post, even avid supporters of RP fighting aren't a fan of mass fights. It's incredibly unlikely that large parties will turn out with a majority in favor of RP fighting, so this is more of a theoretical possibility than it is an actual event that will happen.

What happens when some illogical party does advocate for a massive, confusing role-play fight? There are always exceptions and there need to be rules for those exceptions.

Large-group rp fights can be really... bad, but even in the days of rp default, they were extremely rare.

Let it play out for a while, if large fights do start to become a problem, we can change things. I've played since Aegis, and I don't recall more than one or two rp fights where size made things troublesome. Adding a number constraint will just create a loophole so players can force pvp despite being a minority in the situation at hand.

If a large battle is about to begin, and army A has 60 people and army B has 40 people, can army A declare RP default?

I'd imagine RP, but truthfully, I can't imagine that would happen.

is it a bannable offense to do as follows.

Emote *runs away* or any variant, and then run with MC mechanics while fully understanding you've initiated PVP?

I was never sure if it was just flat out against the rules to do that and PVP initiation thing was just a thing that people did over ban reports, or if that's a legitimate thing you can do without consequence (so long as if/when you get killed you don't whine about it)

I am an advocate for RP fights only, because I enjoy that type of roleplay. I'm not against PvP or anything (I do it competitively, tournaments, etc.),  but if I am fighting another person, and they want PvP, and I want RP, it's still PvP default because of the rule, unless both parties give reasons for why they want that type of fight.

1/2 people want RP fight=PvP unless person 2 changes mindset to person 1's.

I would rather have RP default than this monstrosity.
