Updated, Expanded And Improved Donor Perks

Recommended Posts

Hello Lord of the Craft :)

Today, I am officially announcing the completion of the VIP project, which entails the updating and overhauling of all VIP perks! The project has been in the works for months, and countless hours have been put in by GMs, who organized and supplied the brainstorming for the update, as well as the Tech Team, who coded the various new plugins and customized or configured others, all to give back to our wonderful donors. While this may not be important to many of you, hopefully you will at least experience and enjoy the many new perks outlined below:

PS. Click this link to see the old perks for comparison purposes. Also, open the image below in a new tab or window if the contrast hurts your eyes.

*Note: Items in red are still a WIP and will be released shortly. BookDatabase is nearing completion, while Minas, Item Pack and Scary Mount collectively form a “Gifts” plugin that is also in the final stages of coding. Also, perks in blue are completed but not set for release until 4.0 due to varying circumstances and conditions surrounding them, so not everything will be immediately available at the time of the posting of this thread. All perks will be released as soon as they are completed!

Here is a description of each perk:

Forum Inbox -

The maximum number of messages that can be in a player's forum inbox.

Soulstones -

The maximum number of soul pillars a player can bind to.

Personas -

The maximum number of character cards / personas a player can make.

Buddy List -

The maximum number of buddies that can be added to a player's Buddy List. Using /buddylist will bring up a menu describing all affiliated commands.

Donor's Den (Returning in 4.0) -

Access to an IG location for Donors. This was built in Anthos, and will need rebuilding and replanning, hence why it’s returning in 4.0.

VIP Distinction -

A colored mcname corresponding to a player's VIP tier.

VIP Access -

Access to the server even when it's full (not so good now, might be useful if we gain popularity). This is a passive trait, so no commands are required!

[NEW] Minas -

A few minas granted upon donation.

[NEW] Item Pack -

A pack of items granted upon donation. The contents of each pack are randomized and taken from a set list based on the values below:

  • Novice - 9 common items
  • Apprentice - 9 common items, 3 regular items
  • Journeyman - 9 common items, 6 regular items
  • Expert - 9 common items, 9 regular items
  • Master - 9 common items, 9 regular items, 3 rare items
  • Legend - 9 common items, 9 regular items, 6 rare items
  • Divine - 9 common items, 9 regular items, 9 rare items
The list of common, regular and rare items is here: Item Packs Lists

*Note- The reason 9 is used is because that is the number of slots in one row of a chest, with 27 slots being the total number in a single chest (which is what the packs will come in).

[NEW] CraftBook -

Full access to the CraftBook plugin (Consolidated into one perk, whereas before it was broken into three separate perks). Use /craftbook to bring up all commands and actions affiliated with the plugin.

- Note: Craftbook doors are temporarily disabled.

LWC -

Ability to lock chests, doors, and other fun things. Use /lwc to bring up all commands and actions affiliated with the plugin.

[NEW] BookDatabase -

Number of books that can be stored in a specialized database for safekeeping and utility.

Shops -

Gain access to the Shops plugin. Using /sb will bring up a menu describing all affiliated commands.

NPCs -

The number of NPCs that a VIP can create. Using /npec will bring up a menu describing all affiliated commands.

[NEW] Forum+ -

Special BB codes on forums and ability to hide own topics/posts (Consolidated into one perk, whereas before it was two separate perks).

[NEW] VIP Plots (Returning in 4.0) -

The size of a single region that can be made and owned by a VIP. In 4.0, plots will only be able to be placed in the Wilds. Make a modreq and a GM will create your region for you!

[NEW] Bound Items -

The number of soulbound items (items that one keeps even after death) that a VIP can have. This can be done by typing /soulbind while holding an item, and /unsoulbind will undo the binding. Most/all weapons and armors are blacklisted from soulbinding.

Red Pillars -

The number of people that can bind to a Red Soulstone Pillar made by a VIP.

Hall of Heroes (Returning in 4.0) -

Having one's name engraved permanently in an in-game "Hall of Heroes" location found near the Cloud Temple.

TS Channel -

The ability to create a permanent personal channel in TeamSpeak

[NEW] Custom Items -

The ability to give items and entities custom names via command (other methods will be available to non-VIPs).

Donor's Den+ (Returning in 4.0 with Donor’s Den) -

Access to a Creative Zone within the Donor's Den.

[NEW] Game Hats -

The ability to put any item on one's head via the /hat command.

[NEW] Scary Mount -

A single personal horse mount that can’t be stolen and can be recalled/respawned, even after its “death”. Any type of horse can be chosen by the donor with the exception of Skeleton Horses, though Zombie Horses are available! These horses are not stronger or faster than ordinary horses.

Custom Tag -

A custom prefix in-game. Make a modreq to get it set to what you’d like!

[NEW] MyPet -

Access to the MyPet plugin, granting the ability to tame and train certain mobs. Using /mypet will bring up a menu describing all affiliated commands

[NEW] HoH Statue (Releasing in 4.0 with Hall of Heroes) -

A custom statue in the Hall of Heroes made in the likeness of the VIP. They will be modeled similar to the following: HoH Statue Example

[NEW] Fireworks -

The ability to set off a randomized firework in-game via a command with a one minute long cool down. Can be done using /fw.

[NEW] Particle Trail -

A purely aesthetic and toggleable custom trail of particles that follow the VIP. The type of trail can be chosen from various effects ranging from floating hearts to rainbow clusters to dust particles. Using /trail will bring up a menu describing all affiliated commands.

And there you have it! Where we had 16 perks before, there are now 29, so hopefully this is a nice little present to the donors of our community. Though it's obvious that not everything is ready yet, hopefully the listing of everything planned gives you all a taste of what is to come! Also, if you are not a donor, do not worry! We still have plenty of neat additions lined up for the near future that will involve and entertain everyone. :)

Thank you all and enjoy your roleplaying!

When do we get these perks? I'm so going up to bedrock if it's right now...

*Takes credit for coding fireworks/particle trails (Arzota/Snowshovel helped with particle trails)*

All perks that aren't blue or red are already on the server and ready for use (AKA yes, you can use them right now)! The ones in blue are coming in 4.0, though there's only 5 of those. The remaining ones in red are a work in progress and should be done soon .

Can you explain how to use some of these features?

I tried giving a general explanation for each perk in the descriptions, but if there's something you need more clarification for, simply state what it is and I'll do my best to explain. :)

Ah, elaboration on these things is usually nice. Will we be able to soulbind our nice, named, with description, enchanted weapons? Because it feels a little sad when I have to hide these things due to the possibility of just getting random pvped by some robbers on the road or random "r u non-human????" people.

Weapons aren't soulbindable... except wooden ones, perhaps. It's more for books and mementos your character would carry, rather than anything useful in combat.

As far as I know, you are not able to soulbind ANY weapons or armors, including enchanted and named ones. However, if the feature doesn't exist already, I'll see if we can patch the soulbind plugin so that GMs can manually bind items for players, even if those items are blacklisted. That way, players can't keep potentially overpowered weapons after dying, but people with things like family heirlooms can ask to keep them upon death.

Alright, that sounds good to me. Thanks for the clarification.

Thank you to every single staff member that voted to approve this, and thank you to every single staff member working to implement the final touches of this.

So much love to you all.

Here is to hoping I can soulbind my wooden druid staff ;)

With the update will those of us who already had a donator status get the rewards such as the mina and item bag?
