shiftnative 3103 Share Posted May 17, 2014 This server has a serious case of the 'messy-medieval' plague. The road for the 4th map must be a copy of the Kings Road of Aegis, as is seen in the 2nd screenshot. If you get to the 4th map and find the road seen in the 3rd screenshot then serious questions must be asked of the administration and builders. That 2nd screenshot is already apart of the 4.0 mainroad, we opt'd for gravel so that the road could be worked on and turn to stone over the first few weeks, by hiring players to fill it with stone and cobble - If we'd rather start with this done ahead of time, I'm game. Dyrr 137 Share Posted May 17, 2014 Personally, I don't like the second screenshot's style. I like the first one for a main road, as it has the large light-posts or whatever they're called. The 3rd and 4th screenshots wouldn't look good as a main road. The main road should have a different material to be used in making it, other than the other roads, so it's easily distinct able. I think it'd be beneficial to get this done ahead of launch. It'd be easy to voxel it to a stone highway. There will surely be plenty of build projects for players within the first few weeks, I doubt the main road will be any one faction's priority. That was kind of what was proposed back in Asulon IIRC, but it was never really done and a lot of main roads were left mostly gravel or the roads that were eventually made were ugly. IMO you should make the main road like the ones Matt suggested because it looks nicer and it'd help new players find their way. When I looked at the first set it really reminded me of the King's Road and I remember when I first joined, the King's Road was really easy to follow to Al'khazar. Matt asked me if he could make this thread and I thought it was a great idea, he took initiative and sought me out - which I commend him for!
