Hello!

In light of the recent You're View post about the Protagonist of 4.0, players have raised concerns dating back to the old group named the 'Ascended'. I personally stated a little bit on the thread myself regarding the Ascended, but here and now we (The Ascended as a whole, or that which remains of us) have decided that we will post this thread up and answer questions as they come

This is an AuaA "Ask us Almost Anything" and so the 'Almost' applies to the following -

Comments of a negative or hostile manner will be hidden, and Questions regarding the real lives of members are heavily discouraged.

Outside of that we will answer all questions regarding playerbase, lore, direction we're taking, past events, etc. in an honest and straight forward fashion.

A short hand list of the members of the Ascended are as follows, and each may post in response if they so wish -

Sairia, LadyKakyuu, JCQuiinn, 501warhead, Blundermore, Hiebe, Archoly, Jallentime, and Lolitadoll.

Thanks for your time and Ask away!

Do you really think you were a good antagonist? I mean like, do you think that the Ascended were really...that good?

What did you do?

The Ascended were the 'Good' faction in Aegis, designed to reward players for being good roleplayers and aligning themselves positively. We fought the undead, and had consistent interaction with them

Protagonist*, and it depends on which time frame you interacted with us. I believe the mysterious nature of the Sages aided greatly, and the scale of Haven gave the Ascended a larger than life feel almost.

The Enlightened (the later day Ascended) were heavily invested in RP, and I believe until the moment that our plugin broke that we did well.

Do you plan to be an active group in 4.0? (Seeing as how well that turned out in Anthos)

When are you going to let it die, if ever?

Does the Ascended still recruit?

Yes!

We have initiated two recruits just recently, actually.

There are lore reasons as to our inactivity in Anthos, and plans have been laid in motion for our involvement in 4.0.

As to your second question, We have no plans to quit playing our characters any time soon.

Does the Ascended still recruit?

Yup. Since re-establishing ourselves we have inducted two members into the order and have several others being either considered for Ascendancy or on their way through the process.

We do plan to be more active in 4.0, though how much attention we draw to ourselves remains to be seen. Furthermore in 3.0 we never truly had plans to be all that active, and were instead using it to re-establish the order.

As for letting it die? I'd assume that'd happen when we all get bored and quit our characters.

How do you plan on dealing with the fact that many nations and peoples within the world believe the Ascended are corrupt, or moronic?  The stigma attached to the Ascended has waned since 1.0, and bastardized in the many times it was revived, it would be difficult to have that 1.0 feel in a 4.0 setting.

What exactly happens when one becomes ascended?

The process of becoming an Ascended is a jealously guarded secret (Disclosed by blundy below! :P), but the overall design is that Dormant Aengul Blood (which most people have, it doesn't give any real perks until ascendance) is 'Activated' by Aeriel, giving the user specific properties, abilities, and putting them into the Service of Aeriel, the Ascended's Patron Arch-Aengul.

Why were you guys always late? Like seriously I remember as an Oren Guard we were fighting off Undead. Then the Ascended roll in when the actions all over going "It's fine now, we're here!". Appearing after the fight.

What exactly happens when one becomes ascended?

Becoming an Ascended involves the rewriting of one's fate to be bound into the service of Aeriel, your body is destroyed and remade using the Anguelic Blood running through the veins of possible Ascended, essentially transforming them into a Half Anguel, Half Descendant form of themselves. This is because of the fact that the magic that is being channeled through the bodies of the Ascended would most likely damage if not kill any normal person, so the Anguelic trait is needed.

Your fate and duty, your oath of service is your binding upon the Golden Scroll given to you that you must sign. Once transformed your fate belongs to Aeriel and her service until death or worse takes you. Once you pass from this world your soul will travel to the immortal plane where the original Haven was recalled to, there to spend the rest of eternity at Aeriel's side. It is a path of service.

Honestly? We just are roleplaying like normal players. There's no 'plan' it's just 'play and have fun'

Have the ascended figured out why they have their powers? Is that reason connected to the 4.0 plot?

Yes, A few of us know the details, more do not. I am one that does, and it ties in with the 4.0 plotline, but details past that aren't to be disclosed just yet.
