Why were you guys always late? Like seriously I remember as an Oren Guard we were fighting off Undead. Then the Ascended roll in when the actions all over going "It's fine now, we're here!". Appearing after the fight.

During the times of the Sages they would want to change their skins to their battle robes before coming. They were also in the middle of godknowswhere in the wilds, and so the trek was... long

 

EDIT: Communication was also sparce between the undead + ascended, it was hard to know when an attack happened

Events were never coordinated with us in 1.0. We often had to wait to be notified in RP about said events, even when we posessed the capacity to know about attacks in RP.

 

EDIT: And on more than one occasion we were told to not get involved in said attacks at all.

it ties in with the 4.0 plotline, but details past that aren't to be disclosed just yet.

Events transpired at the end of Aegis to cause us to lose connection to Aeriel. As of Recently, with no word or Warning, the Song of Aeriel revived itself. The Ascended are confused as to why it is so, but Aeriel is not forthcoming with the details and is hard to communicate with, she has spoken no words since the Re ascendance.

We believe it has to do with Aeriel needing us with a new task. Selina's personal pet theory is that Aeriel wanted them to help reclaim the Souls of the Golden Lance members who had been corrupted. The truth of it remains to be seen.

A few of us during that period held on to magics and knowledge we knew of prior to becoming or during the period of Aegis that were not entirely Ascended in nature. Such as Arcane magic, Selina I believe was worshipping what she thought was Aeriel but other than that Aeriel disappeared off our scopes for a long while... mostly. 

 

How do we still exist? How does any character from Aegis still exist? Because those characters can really. To be honest it is a miracle we do still exist, at one point I thought everyone I knew from the Ascended were gone, but they slowly came back again after a bit, Asulon killed off a lot of people's RP, not just our's.

It just seemed odd to see you all again after the RP I had with Selina and the RP I saw from Blundermore. 4.0 plotline aside, nobody has 'returned' yet. You guys resurfaced in 3.0 with a shiny new settlement in the mountains with a waterfall barrier - basically full force.

 

Also, why did the Ascended living in the mansion of Leanniel do nothing whenever it was being taken by the Scourge? They seemed really eager to defend a girl from Gravelords but not a whole populous from enslavement.

We do not have our full powers back. We have a shadow of them.

Blood is still Blood, we had 'Awakened' blood, but no song or powers. Long Life was a basic benefit.

Sanctum was the Reborn city of Haven... how it got there, well... that's a story and a half.

I was not active at the time due to being very busy with my studies in real life. When asked about destroying it I deferred my judgement to the residents. I do not believe I was informed that the event even took place, logging in for a brief moment long after it ended to clean out the stuff I needed. Since I didn't know when the attack was to take place I was unable to pass the information on to the other Ascended.

Our bodies were not changed back even though our magic was practically gone. 

 

Becoming an Ascended involves the rewriting of one's fate to be bound into the service of Aeriel, your body is destroyed and remade using the Anguelic Blood running through the veins of possible Ascended, essentially transforming them into a Half Anguel, Half Descendant form of themselves. This is because of the fact that the magic that is being channeled through the bodies of the Ascended would most likely damage if not kill any normal person, so the Anguelic trait is needed. 

Your fate and duty, your oath of service is your binding upon the Golden Scroll given to you that you must sign. Once transformed your fate belongs to Aeriel and her service until death or worse takes you. Once you pass from this world your soul will travel to the immortal plane where the original Haven was recalled to, there to spend the rest of eternity at Aeriel's side. It is a path of service.  

 

None of the Ascended knew of the event at Selina's until it was too late. It seems that the antag just decided to jump around us without really coming to talk to us about anything. 

 

A lot of the Ascended did try to do stuff to fight the antag in general, for example I was actually apart of the original end event with Aruzond played by Viperx3, I was to assemble a team to travel into an unknown land where the /Dead order/ of the golden lance was situated in order to recover the Golden Lance relics in an attempt to stop Setherien, we were to return just at the point of the end event and use the relics to stop Setherien, if I recall correctly... however the event fell through in the end as the antag went through many different stages of activity and rewrites, eventually I just gave up that tangent of RP and interacting with the Antag.

What about former Acolytes and Initiates and stuff? Like my character was one at the end of Aegis and I was never able to finish my trials due to a vacation and the world blowing up and stuff. Would those people that still lived ever be sought out and tried again?

A rescue mission of what? By the time we found out the mansion was gone etc... And you know how the antag is, it's easy for them to take land and corrupt it but it is a ***** to even convince one GM to try and uncorrupt it. Besides trying to uncorrupt large amounts of antag lands would require that we converse with the antags... which was seemingly impossible at the best of times. I detect that there is a bit of OOC aggression in your words as though you're blaming us for the fall of Lenniel, and though ICly that may be what your character thinks I'd ask you keep that aggression IC.

 

Biggest Achievement? uniting every race to actually come and speak and form a plan about tackling the big threat that was Iblees in Aegis, actually managing to get every nation leader in the same room without them all killing each other and then actually having a plan set in stone to move to the verge whilst we sent Champions of the races with Armour and weapons blessed by Our most powerful member at the time (Shoi who sacrificed any future endeavors into being able to cast magic at all in any art in order to bless those weapons and armour for the champions) so that the Champions could traverse the hell-fire that was Iblees' realm. 

 

You may scoff at that but have you /seen/ what relations between the races is like now? It was essentially like that in Aegis, only the it was a much more mature environment.
