With how the ascended were there was no doubt in anyone's head that there is a high level of elitism that comes with the title. I believe mostly because it's something that you have to fit a certain cookie cutter shape to enter and I personally find that a little uneasy, if it was more open I would be happier.

 

That being said, is there anything being done on the interior of the group that is trying to change the whole elitism of the group? 

At the moment I can't see the criteria being made much lighter than it is. When we did lessen it previously we had a few unsavory types lie to us and then abuse and misuse their powers. We're also hoping we don't get thrust into the limelight again by staff (It happens more often than I'd like) as that tends to be what gives people the elitist impression.

There is little elitism left in the group since the change in leadership. Aleryn generally keeps things at a relative low. Though do remember ic actions may not reflect ooc personality...

Last I was told is that you lost your magic, but you assure us there is a reason. Is this reason even known to you? Again on an OOC level.

My REAL question: Instead of coming up with new protagonists like the Golden Lance, is the server going to stick with the Ascended? Your opinions, unless you have the admin perspective or LM one etc.

 

 

The Ascended are NOT 'the' Protags in 4.0. This is a decision that has come to an agreement and all parties involved have been informed and all are in accord.

Elitism became much less of a thing when the original sages ended up leaving behind the Ascended. Under the sage-less group many were welcomed from all walks. Of course old stigmas tend to stay, just as they do for the GM team (as I'm sure you've noticed.)

If you mean do we recruit then we already have two new members and are steadily growing.

Answered earlier, but yes. The Ascended are still recruiting active RPers as they see fit, but same as before recruitment is done by hand - not applications.

How do you recruit people? Do you just RP with them for a month and then offer them it? Or is there some other sort of thing.

Most often, yes. We RP with them to figure out their alignments, their affiliations, their style of RP. We then make the educated guess as to how they would take it if they were Ascended - sometimes there are characters we would like but due to their positions in RP we don't take them because it would be unfair to make them have to choose between the two.
