[Event Idea] The Plague

11th of The First Seed, 1460

 

 It had been another evening in Vekaro. You notice a man, throwing beer bottles everywhere, throwing up. Another man doing the same. You cannot take the nauseating sight, so you decide to go back to your home. Once you arrive, you notice out the window, a man coughing and sneezing. He has great dark circles under his eyes, the eyes bloodshot. His nose runs blood and snot. "What the..." The man starts puking, you notice large bumps on his arms and legs. Something must be wrong. You take further research into what the man has. Nothing of the sort. Can this be a contagious disease inside of Vekaro? Could it spread to the rest of the Fringe? The worst part is you will never know. You grab a book and quill, following the man around and taking notes.

They look like this:

• Dark circles under eyes
• Bloodshot eyes
• Sneezing
• Coughing
• Large bumps up and down arms and legs
• Nausea resulting to puking

​ The man enters a house, kisses his children and wife, and falls into bed. You notice how he kissed them, and you wonder more if this is a non-communicable disease. Is it curable? Can the monks save him? The next morning you wake up at the house. You look into the window of the house, and the man still lay there, not moving. He is dead.

 

OOC Lore:

 

 So the IC Lore above shows what The Plague is. If you looked at the notes the person in the lore wrote were the symptoms. The first symptom are dark circles under your eyes. Then, they will become bloodshot. A series of sneezing and coughing will come about you, followed by large bumps up and down your arms and legs.  After that comes the nausea that causes vomiting. You will then die within 3-14 hours.

 How this will start is when three mage arrive at Vekaro. Their past experiences with Vekaro was not so great, since they ran into eight drunken sailors from a pirate crew. They will use a spell called Fear. I will get to that in a moment, but now I must continue with the lore. As I mentioned in the IC lore, the man that obtained it first was the man in the lore. The man will throw up once the spell was cast, and would run away. When the man runs away, he will get home and kiss his wife and children. That is where it all starts.

 

Fear, the Spell:

 

 As I mentioned earlier, there is a spell called Fear. Fear surges through your veins, and once it is let go, it will roam the Fringe. Fear uses up most of your mana, leaving you powerless after. Only the strongest mage can use this spell, or else you can fall to the ground, never waking up again.

I'd like the idea of both sides in the war currently to develop chemical weapons. The side effects from the gas weapons used in the war would kill, however it would also cause great sickness and wreck the nations at war into depression. So then filter masks would have to be used on the battlefield and cities.

There was a suggestion for a plague recently, I think the main issue was that the last one in Asulon separated roleplay and not enough people got involved (didn't want to have sick characters, didn't want to lose their characters) and while the ET can make up for some of this, an event that needs to be done on such a large scale needs to have player participation. If you can come up with a solid idea to combat that, the event proposal would be much stronger and the event itself much more likely to succeed.
