Weird Applications.

Hello guys and gals,

I found the applications quite interesting because all I see in the biography are dead parents, sisters, brothers etc.

What do you think about them?

I am already bored of so many deaths and I wonder how are the guys who accept these kinds of shitty applications.

Your application isn't exactly top-notch either. Your definitions are only one sentence, lacking any examples, and in your story Uruks raid your village. Uruks raiding villages is an unoriginal and cliche event seen in probably hundreds of applications. You can't call others applications' sh*t.

Please don't make me regret accepting you for this toxic behavior.

We want to introduce players who are new to RP yet want to improve, and even though their parents may die that isn't a reason to deny them for roleplaying. When I first started roleplaying my parents were killed by bandits, yet here I am. I can be very strict when it comes to applications, but we want both experienced and new roleplayers to enioy LotC.

I could add on to this. When I first applied to the server, I didn't know ANYONE. I gave my character dead parents because I didn't feel comfortable with the community enough to go ahead and ask people to play them.

 

You need to keep in mind that people who join are joining on their own and are quite literally alone until they first log in.

 

(()) On a side note, it would be pretty cool to see a group of a few people all apply and have their characters stories intertwined.

As Emily stated, most people lose their parents or family members because they can't reference them if they know no one on the server. In fact, my first character lost his brother to Orcs, but since then I've grown a lot and my RP has flourished. Sometimes it's better to be typical than edgy your first time, and it is also better to just let people RP as they RP, instead of calling them out on things they haven't learned about yet. :)

 

Edit: I would be willing to help you out, should you need it. This server is actually quite fun and full fo excellent and original roleplayers...;)
