Pinsir99 526 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Overnight posters are hung up around the Lin'ame, a robed silhouette is all that might be glimpsed. [Transcript for an easier read] It is no longer a great secret that almost all, if not flat out all wood elves have expressed a clear desire for a home without the imposing walls and towers of the Silver City looming over them in perpetual reminder of their inferiority. Our kind has lived in the segregated district of Lin'ame for years now, in such a time, our population has grown stagnant. Many of us have gone back to our roots or joined the Druidic Order where we are more welcome and treated better than second class citizens, greeting with nothing but jeers and condescending remarks from those pale ones whom live above. Many mali'ame have died in a war against the bortu and uruk, a war which was started by the mali'aheral, and which we were expected to fight in without question. And fight we did, for Haelun'or is our home. Yet the brunt of the attacks have always been on our district. Raiders always breach Lin'ame and deal damage to the lower districts while the pale ones remain safe and secure in the upper district, figuratively and literally well above the worries of the violence below. However despite all that one could argue that the elves as a whole have more pride now. I would say not. Haelun'or has undoubtedly trained order and discipline into our people as well as the mali'ker. But there is no pride in being a mali'ame. I don't quite know what keeps us here in fact, instead of simply packing up and moving elsewhere in quiet seclusion where no one can find us, or perhaps simply go back to the druidic order where we will have protection from enemies behind Bortu lines. What keeps us in Haelun'or? We stay because we are elves. The only reason we wish to stay and still have, is because despite the jeering, condescending and racism we endure, it only makes sense that mali should be with mali. This is a lesson we learnt when Malinor fell, and the Conclave after it. Yes, in the referendum of lesser elves, while all but a solitary two of Lin'ame's population stated a desire to be out from the looming shadow of the high elven city, many of us still desired to remain united as a race. Some say this is only because we rely on High elves and it's Crimson-Silver concordat to protect us. Yet, what is stopping us from simply going to the Krughanistan bloc, and seeking the protection of the Bortu and Uruk if that were the case? They have proven they can fend off Orenians and they can easily hold off any army Haelun'or has to offer. Especially if half of Haelun'ors population moves in with them. No, the reason we wish to remain united with Haelun'or is not due to protection, it is simply out of a desire to maintain elven peace. Yet as long as we the Mali'ame are forced to live right up next to the Mali'aheral in the shadow of their cultural, governmental and military dominance, there is no guarantee this peace will last. Mali'ame! Vote now for the building of a new city, a city for our own. You know this is for the best, for our population to grow and our culture to revive from it's current stagnant state. Mali'aheral- To the Triumvirate and the Sohaer, we implore you to let us found our own city within the nation of Haelun'or. If we are willingly allowed to do so, we will abide by the silver law, and the Crimson silver alliance. If not, the future is uncertain. Below appears to be list of blanks for readers to fill out. Treshure 5817 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Grown up Moe remarks: "The sheep now protest freedom over their caring shepherd. How fast they will realize the wolves are waiting for them. Inferior and squalid without the reigns of the pure, they shall surely cower back to the Mother Land after they realize there is no safe existence for them except here."
Raptorious 1899 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Valmir reads the post with a glower, shaking his head as he scans all the way down to the very bottom. He turns to his cousin and speaks, handing him the notice. "If the Mali'ame wish to escape from the oh-so-evil clutches of their silver kin, who have done nothing but provide them shelter, protection and unity, let them do so. Let them make yet another one of their childish mistakes and run off to the Krughanistan bloc. I'm sure the Bortu won't go back on their word and break their alliance and treaty with them this time." PtahWithin 1320 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Asthil Haumel peers at the poster. After reading its contents, he speaks. "Nothing of use can be concluded from the 'referendum' that the strangely anonymous author of this document uses as supporting evidence. It was possible for non-citizens to vote, those who did not even live in Lin'ame, and voting was not compulsory. Intelligent Mali'ame such as myself saw no value in the referendum and so did not participate: the results show that only the logically impaired would find use in participating. "What should concern us instead is the presence of existing issues raised by existing citizens. From the fact that this poster was delivered anonymously, I cannot be certain that the author is either of these. In such, for as long as the author seeks to hide from logical debate and provoke populist outcry over instead measuredly and convincingly contacting the leaders of Lin'ame about their concerns, these posters shall produce no positive effect."
Pinsir99 526 Author Share Posted July 11, 2014 -Snip- Vierna, boredly strolling past as he happens to respond to the inanimate poster. "You'd think whoever put these up would have his name on 'em. Guess he didn't think it through!" She laughs to herself as she continues on.

The Templar 195 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Yriel frowns as an unknown dark elven female wanders within Haelun'or, "What does this matter to you? You are not one of the Citizens of Ker'lomi, nor bound by the Crimson-Silver Concordat." He would then wait patiently for an answer, an eyebrow arched. "I ignored the poll as did many others since it was obvious to us that the proposal was ludicrous to begin with. Secondly, how does one trust the results of an anonymous agitator who demonstrates poor experience with elven and international politics in their main argument?" John Ivory 4546 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Turronidan, a Wood Elven male, discusses his opinion. "Good God, who in their right mind would want to break free from the awesomeness that is this Elven pact? This triumvirate of good? Lin'ame, under the council of Elves, has even received the greatest of allies - the Empire of Oren. Some could say that the Elven race has never seen such a strength, such a boost in prosperity since the days of the old Holy Princedom of Malinor... let us not stop prematurely! There is only progress from here! We the Elves are united!"
Stag 3231 Share Posted July 11, 2014 "All I hear the mali'ame saying is that they want to live away from Haelun'or but keep the blessings that come with being within the confounds of the motherland. If you do not want to deal with the consequences of being apart of Haelun'or then simply leave but don't expect to keep the political safety that is offered here. It is blatantly simple to understand. Only the most idiotic would think it wise to go to the foolish bortu and uruk." States Iatrilemar.
Leetles 65 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Aetós reads the letter and sighs shaking her head.. mumbling to herself "I wont leave my tree.. Besides.. it will end bad as always." She then goes to continue her 4 elven week meditation in her tree
Mithradites 1168 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Sitting in the Lin'ame district, Lucion nods his head as he patiently listens to the letter being read by one of his associates. He leans back on his bench as the letter is finished, and remains silent for a few moments. "I have heard," he begins in his usual monotonous drawl, "that there are those who refer to the elven people as "tools" in one scheme or another. Be they tools under Oren as Haelun'or, tools under Urguan as the Conclave, or tools under the Krugistan Bloc as the "Grand" Princedom. Though it is blatantly untrue of Haelun'or and the elves therein being tools of any sort, for the sake of my coming analogy let us all presume that we are." The Maheral joins his hands together as he prepares to speak further. "A saw is placed in the hands of a man who uses it to trim errant branches. He prefers his tool to be properly cared for, as rust can form on metal of any sort, so he cleans it after its use and places it somewhere safe and dry for storage. When its teeth grow dull through use, he scrapes it upon a grindstone. Though sharpening the blade is an arduous task, he does so regardless to ensure it remains in the condition it ought to be.Now through some means or another, the saw comes into the hands of a second man. This one, however, is less inclined towards keeping his tools maintained. He cares little where it is kept, so long as it is within arms reach. When its teeth grow dull, he does not put it to the grindstone. He instead accepts its condition as it is, and continues to use it until the blade is so dull it finds trouble cutting through parchment. Accepting its condition as before, even in its worthless state, he instead uses it to plug a hole in his roof. He proclaims thereafter "were I to sharpen it, how would I stop the rain from coming in?" Fatefully, the saw is lost once more and is left on its own in the middle of a grassy hillock. It is a picturesque place. The saw is never used; its blade is kept from any sharpening or cutting, and it remains on that hillock for some time. But days pass. Then weeks. The rain rusts its metal and rots the wooden handle. The grass overgrows it and covers it with filth. All manners of creatures walk over it, knock it about, and damage it before the tool finally gives in to the pressures and collapses into pieces. Though who would expect otherwise, given its situation?" Lucion gestures outwardly towards his associates one by one, before inclining his head respectfully. "Think of that what you will. I am, after all, merely your oppressor."
